Tea room 22- A Farmhouse kitchen, anyone for a cuppa?

Welcome to the 22nd incarnation of the tea room. This time we are watching for spring from a cosy farmhouse kitchen. There is an aga for baking virtual cakes and an inglenook with toasty fire and settles to rest weary bones on. The distressed chintz sofa and footstool have arrived safe and sound and the priest hole is around here somewhere. On the Window sill is an aspidistra its pot surrounded by a hand holding circle of nearly naked mohawk babies, they have placards and a brazier.

Outside in the surrounding fields can be found the tea room horses, Earl and Lady Grey, also a herd of bison AND a Ha Ha to keep the bishops from invading.

Usual rules apply, no fisticuffs, if you want an argument go else where. Mellors the butler / game keeper will supply all sorts of things on request. Welcome Mums of one, none or many to the tea room of requirement.

On the contrary, it was very sage advice and parents of younger children - or those who are yet to enter the Realm of Ballet - will learn from it!

Tee2072 · 01/02/2011 22:16

Oh boy, mama blew that one. I tried to move LCT and I into the spare room so he could sleep as late as he liked in the morning, as opposed to sleeping in my and MrTee's room, where he'd be woken up by MrTee getting ready for work at 730. I swear he was asleep when I laid him in the bed but he instantly knew he was in the wrong place and wailled until I moved him to where he was used to sleeping. So there goes the plan to move him back into his own bed soon.

Ooh dressing up! I'd bet LCT would like that. Shall have to look around for things.

I really need to go to sleep. But first, a hot chocolate. Who wants?

oxeye · 01/02/2011 22:20

Ooo Racing, I am honoured you like my choices
yeah, we a definitely a dancing family - every day we gallop and dance after supper. and when we saw Peppa Pig (the Musical) OxBoy and I were larging it in the back row Grin

CMOT good thinking re student, I am sure OxBloke could rustle up a few. You are right we need top and tailing mostly and a bit more when OxBloke goes A-roaming

Techno, yes, effortless language learning good - bless him he walked into school and said "oh good mummy, French, I can speak french - Bonjourmercisalut" unaware that at least half the class already have English as their second (if not third) language! Grin

CMOT how is DH?

oxeye · 01/02/2011 22:21

Tee, you want LCT to sleep happily in other bed? Get in with him Grin

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 01/02/2011 22:26

I am trying to picture the scene, as Oxeye and OxBoy pogo in the Peppa Pig mosh pit! We might go to the ball-ay in the 'burbs on Saturday, depending on what else we find to do. We have also been invited to a Private View.

::Bit of a ponce emoticon::

'Twasn't me (alas) who suggested that an au pair would provide language tuition by osmosis. But I'm sure s/he would.

oxeye · 01/02/2011 23:20

I hear your Private View and I raise you that weird thingy at SW last march where they moaned and threw around large foam blocks

Wink
oxeye · 01/02/2011 23:21

Apologies to UnSerp it was you mentioned the Dual Language - Grin

Donki · 02/02/2011 07:05

Anyone heard from thumbwitch recently? (Have I forgotten her saying that she was leaving us?)

CMOTdibbler · 02/02/2011 08:00

DH is still not in a good place, exacerbated that rather than letting me just throw his work files in my car to hand over to his boss, he insisted on filing the loose paperwork in them. But at least this way they are out of the house, and he knows they are being dealt with.

Am worried about next week when I have to be in the US Mon-Fri. Will have to arrange for people to call him for a casual chat

Its ballet class day here today - DS totally loves it and dances at the least opportunity. Would be lovely to see what they actually do in ballet - the downside of school based classes. He also can't wait till next year when he can do 'proper' gym club at school

Tee2072 · 02/02/2011 08:04

Oxeye, I was in with him. Grin He's a very stubborn stuck in his habits kind of boy!

Who threw up again this morning. So much for all better.

amberlight · 02/02/2011 10:26

Tee, arrrgh. It's a determined virus.

CMOT, eek re your dh. Really hoping he finds an answer pronto.

FineLad here is at some Uni in Gloucestershire doing a sports assessment day, which means I've been up since far-too-early-o'clock getting him to the pickup point. And now the nurse has taken a whole armful of blood out of me so I'm having a relaxing cuppa. Anyone else for one?

Scout19075 · 02/02/2011 14:42

Poor LCT! Poor Tee -- would you like a bolly to help you get through it?

Tee2072 · 02/02/2011 14:58

Actually, could you send Mellors around to do the washing up and fold the never ending laundry?

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 02/02/2011 15:52

Oxeye - We obviously missed a corker of an evening there. Was it one of the shows aimed at children?

Scout19075 · 02/02/2011 18:58

Shattered today. In need of chocolate.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 02/02/2011 19:01

Bolly and chocolate now being served. Come and share.

Scout19075 · 02/02/2011 19:02

Thanks! Is there anything (that's not coffee) with caffiene?

Tee2072 · 02/02/2011 19:04

Whew, cranky ill boy sound asleep with no fuss tonight. Fish and chips in oven. DH at late clinic appointment.

::hops onto Mellor's massage table::

::holds out glass for bolly::

::Hands scout a coke (and a Grin)::

Scout19075 · 02/02/2011 19:12

Hehheeh. Thanks, Tee!

Scout19075 · 02/02/2011 19:13

Having a pause in the action before making dinner (meatloaf, mash and veggies).

Scout19075 · 02/02/2011 19:27

(Could someone please remind BabyScout that it's past his bedtime so he should be asleep? And also tell him that if he wakes up at 3:30 a.m. chattering and whiney for no reason and stays awake for well over an hour Mommy will NOT be impressed.)

(Thanks.)

Tee2072 · 02/02/2011 19:59

BabyScout GO.TO.SLEEP! And stay asleep until, say, 8am! With no whining!

Scout19075 · 02/02/2011 20:06

Thanks Tee, think that worked. Wink No matter what, though, he almost always seems to wake up between 7 & 7:30 a.m. (that's much better than the 5:30-ish it used to be).

UnSerpentQuiCourt · 02/02/2011 20:59

It does move on, Tee. I well remeber being up every morning before CBBies started ... now I have to prise her out of bed at 7am so that we can go to work.

UniS · 02/02/2011 21:08

when is this 7am of which you speak??

Oi- baby scout, stay asleep. do NOT wake your mother up with whiney noises.

JM- many thanks for teh postcard. Boy slightly bewildered about who its from but he liked having Post.

Wooooo, that was a busy day. I got to sit down at 4pm once I'd got boy home from school We both settled down for a cuppa and a slice of toast. bliss.
