Up with Mum ATM got her curtains shut and her fan on but boiling hot here. Don't blame you going shopping before it gets too hot . Hope you enjoy the shop don't forget the lollies 🤣😋

I also may have got a little marigold to keep the cabbage butterflies off my nasturtiums and a small beautiful dahlia in HB oops. 😄Well I need something for at front door my polyanthus are not blooming now and my other dahlias might not grow. There were many more! I was good!
Having a cuppa before I tackle sorting the meat and the freezer.

I got another pack of the assorted bacon in HBs as well, really good stuff. Got 2kg chicken wings in Aldi for £4.49. I dont usually get them as they are delish but pricey but that was a bargain.

The Marigold and Dahlia sound completely justified to me 🤣🌼 .Your front door will look lovely with some colour there, especially now the Polyanthus are finished. And well done for resisting all the other plants 🤣.
That chicken wing deal was brilliant too, no wonder you grabbed them. Enjoy your cuppa before the freezer Tetris begins 🤣. Beautiful Dahlia well done HB love it and it looks so healthy and in full bloom , you definitely did the right thing .
Stayed with Mum for over 3 hrs , she was ok there just not happy today and very tired . l think this heat gets to them all bless them ❤️ got her fan on max, closed the curtains and windows and she's only got a little cover on her .
Just had a cheese roll and a piece of fruit cake and butter and a cuppa yummy 😋

Freezer is done. Chicken all portioned up into cubes and strips and breasts, everything else out the packages and into bags. All fits in nicely (just!) I forgot to get peas but hey ho. Washed the drawers out too although they were actually clean. Inventory rewritten. I dont need anything for a month @DirtyGertiefromno30
Well I need lemons and sugar for elderflower cordial I suppose...forgot to get them. I asked Ds1 and he said he would like some if I was up for making it this year.
Kitchen all cleared so sitting down with a coffee.

Have chicken strips i am going to bread for tea and got a French loaf to have fried chicken salad sarnies for tea. Easy peasy. (well except the faff of breading!)
Not quite as hot now but still nice. But I might leave planting my new acquisitions until tomorrow.

I forgot, there was a busker outside HB singing country style songs. He had a voice which fitted the songs perfectly. I love it when people are singing outside.

And the busker sounds lovely 🎶. I always think hearing singing outside makes shopping trips feel so much nicer somehow especially if they sing songs you love ❤️
Your tea sounds delicious, even with the breading faff 🤣. And homemade elderflower cordial will be lovely if you make it , nice that Ds1 wants some too 😋.

Yep buskers brighten up the day. I didn't know the songs but they were lovely.

I listened to one of the Slyrim stories as o was doing the freezer. (I fell asleep to it last night😡) I enjoyed it, well told. (But I did think hmm, my Nord would kick that spiders ass into next week 🤣🤣)

Glad the Skyrim story was good @Thebookofcarolagain , it's always nice when you find one that is well told, especially for freezer sorting background listening 🤣. Hope you manage to rescue the plants before the wind gets too wild with you 🌱💨. Typical isn’t it, warm one minute then gusty the next! And yes, far too hot for Dh's enthusiastic car washing 🤣.
Buskers really do make places feel nicer somehow, even when you don’t know the songs 🎶. I much prefer donating to them than the beggars outside shops . We had one that used to sit outside Aldi with his dog and l always bought the dog a treat but nothing for him , he used to go to school with my DH and lived in a house in town . He wasn't homeless or penniless he was just trying it on for his beer money . At the end of his stint, when he had enough money he would get on his bike , cycle like hell to his home with the poor dog running hell for leather trying to keep up . Poor Dog 😱

That's the trouble with beggars you never know if they are genuine or not, well in the big towns and cities anyway. There were a few in Edinburgh that were bussed in by unscrupulous traffickers and a few who went in to the city centre from thier damm huge houses in the suburbs. There was a big noise in the papers/news..
Got my plants in and wind is getting up and it's blooming cold! Put my zip up on. Brrr.

Wind has dropped a bit now but still loads of clouds. Haven't had to draw my curtains to stop getting roasted by sun tonight.
Dishes all done, in my pj's crashed out.

I listened to another story as i made tea @DirtyGertiefromno30. You get a story then it's ambient Skyrim background sounds for falling asleep to. Genius.
I cut back on how much strips and chunks i put in a bag for freezer today. Some of those chicken breasts are huge! Fried up a lot of chicken strips for tea from defrosted bag! Put cajun seasoning in the breadcrumbs, turned out nice.

Sounds much nicer now the wind’s dropped @Thebookofcarolagain😊. Best feeling when the dishes are done, you’re in your pj’s and can finally flop 😁!

another beautiful sunny day but it's still very hot 25 degrees centigrade so we have shut the house up again 💪.
I have been to the doctors for my annual checkup, blood pressure , wee dip, loads of bloods , weight everything seems okay , bp was 127 over 80 which l was pleased with , just waiting for my blood results now. Fingers crossed 🤞 😁. Up with Mum now she's flat out here bless her , so l will wait for her to wake up . Hope everyone is ok and enjoying this lovely weather 😊

Just got back from seeing Mum.
She was awful today very nasty and tired. l had a job to get her tablets and drinks and food in her. Apparently the Dr who looks after the residents in the home said it's the awful heat that causes them to be so aggressive. Oh well tis what it is l can't do anything about it but it makes you feel guilty and useless. I know that's ridiculous 🙄.
Just having cheese and crackers for dinner , enjoying them with a nice cuppa .

Well I got off my bum and went out and potted up my dahlia and marigold. Watered everything too. AND ds2 came to back door as I was filling the watering cans and I said the sprayer was not working so he said give it to me. He checked it wasn't blocked, fiddled with the back of it, theres a sort of knob you can turn. Then he said put it on the hose and fiddled some more and voila! It's working! One of the settings isn't but the ones I use are. The knob must have just come loose or something. Yippee saved me money on a new one. So I watered the bottom border and the raised area with the hose instead of tons of cans.

In the raised area my foxgloves are flowering and with the aquilegias and cow parsley it looks lovely. Still some gaps but there are things to come.
Unfortunately my papaver i put in the pot out front up and died but hey ho. There's another one came ip in bottom border so back to 3 in there! Plus I have 2 in top border, I will live! My allium B buds are all out the casings and ready to flower, so excited, its crazy. My delphinium is still hanging in there so fingers crossed.😁

I have caved and we are getting Chinese for tea! I have to go to chemist so that's my excuse!

Sounds like a great garden day @Thebookofcarolagain😊. Well done getting everything potted and watered, and even better that DS2 fixed the sprayer saved money and effort lugging cans he's a good un 👏👏😁.
It looks beautiful in your photo and l live the faded weathered painted brick wall it's a perfect be backdrop for the beautiful foxgloves and pink plants in the bed ❤️.
Shame about the Papaver, but you’ve still got others so not all lost. Exciting about the Alliums ready to go too🤞😁 and fingers crossed for the Delphinium.
