I’d be fuming too after looking after them all so carefully @Thebookofcarolagain. Typical that the mystery plants were some of the ones lost as well 🙄. Plastic forks might work though, hopefully whatever’s been digging gets the hint tomorrow 😡.
Your tea sounds very nice , sometimes a simple corned beef and cheese salad roll really hits the spot . Good to use the last of it up while the boys sort themselves out later thank God 😁👏

Found the culprit. Left the pots on the wall to dry the compost a bit. Went to back door, its been open all day, 2 pots knocked over and he flew up onto fence a bloody starling!

Aha! Mystery solved then @Thebookofcarolagain 😂 .Trust it to be a cheeky starling . They’re so bold. Poor plants didn’t stand a chance.

Stupid bird ain't gonna find grubs in the compost! He's been pecking around on the reused area and on the wall too.

Had a shower earlier and in shorts and loose vest pjs and short thin dressing gown!
Back doors been open all day! Amazing!: not sunny all day but its an improvement!

It does sound lovely though having the back doors open all day. Amazing what a bit of warmer weather does for the mood, even if the sun’s in and out. Bet it felt nice being in lighter clothes for once 😊
You’ve done really well with the shopping too, £20 is brilliant these days. Those American bargain videos always make me jealous, their offers are so much better than ours , and the coupons are brilliant 😂.

Good morning!
Thought I would pop in whilst my brain is slightly in gear !
So hot - DD2 lent me an air cooler yesterday , and it works a treat , but I couldn't leave it on to sleep , it was too noisy , sadly . It did cool the bedroom down enough to be comfy though . We are being very Mediterranean - curtains closed where the sun comes in , doors open in the shade .
We had everyone around yesterday afternoon , and it was lovely - we had a paddling pool , a trug of water and water pistols , the DTs loved it . Slathered in suncream , and these ( new to me) sun protection rash swim outfits , they played whilst we sat in the shade .
We are having a few days not doing much , recovering from the big DD1 move and attendant DIY . ( only garden stuff left to do there -mainly weeding a gravel drive tbh ) .
I have got all my greenhouse sorted - all the salad plants potted up and in their summer positions , all spare plants taken to the allotment where I used to be - they have free plant tables . I need to now over the next couple of days finish doing my veg patch . I have already planted leeks and climbing french beans , but need to weed/dig over and plant up all the sprouts.cabbages/ courgettes etc and put up a new brassica cage which has been waiting patiently !
DH has done a fantastic job of making me a desk/table for my new craft room , and I am now in the process of kitting it out . I will have no chance of knowing where everything is , but it means I can start sewing my list of to - dos this week - a lot to catch up on !
Laughed at the starling on your pots BookofCarol - I have had to throw a net curtain over my dwarf plum tree , as a couple of pigeons have been trying to peck off the set fruit !! The branches cant cope with the weight , apart from them decimating the fruit .

Sounds like a great day yesterday fir everyone.
I didnt sleep much last night, gave up at 2.30 and came downstairs till about 3.30. Sun was starting to come up! Then up at 6.30.
Been out and watered garden and staked my sunflowers out front which are growing faster than ones in borders. Anyone recommend a hose sorayer attachment that actually works? Mine is useless now.

My birthday alpines in gravel out front seem to like thier new home, they are flowering like crazy!
Lovely day today, sun is actually showing its face!
Coffee time then I better start housework, bleurgh

You’ve definitely earned a few quieter days after all the moving and DIY jobs @bookbook ! Very Mediterranean with the curtains shut and doors open in the shade , this heat is something else today must not moan though 😁. Shame the air cooler was too noisy overnight, but good it cooled the room down first though. Yesterday sounds lovely for the DTs and everyone else, paddling pool & water pistol. Childhood heaven while the grown ups sensibly stayed in the shade 😂 You’ve been so productive honestly ! Your greenhouse and veg patch sound amazing! How lovely of your DH to make your craft room desk too! Yay to finally get sewing again, even if you won’t know where anything is at first 😂 The bird battles continue everywhere apparently , Starlings, Pigeons and mystery diggers all causing havoc! Hope the plum tree survives. Enjoy the slower few days and keep cool 😎🤗.

Been shopping to Aldi, Tesco and Home Bargains and B&M. Home now having some Cheese rolls and coleslaw and a nice cuppa 😋☕.
Blooming busy on the roads and in the shops we went early to avoid the crowds haha 🤣
Washing out another one in the wash, changed all the beds 😊.
watching Bargain Hunt and lovely and cool inside 🥵😁 29C outside 😱🤣
Salads for the next few days here 😁.

Thanks @DirtyGertiefromno30 . Will hunt that out. Mine was a lot cheaper than I imagine that one is but if its gonna last that's fine. Should have known the cheaper one wouldn't last.
Have tackled the housework a bit at a time. Nearly all done. Just got downstairs to hoover and kitchen floor to do. Having a coffee first my back is complaining. Phew, but wont need to do anything tomorrow.
2 loads of washing out. Ds1 did his, I did one and put my old fleece in, its due a wash!
Shopping tomorrow oh joy. My list is growing!!! 😱 (will add that sprayer on now 😉)
Its only 19° here apparently so just nice.
Thankfully ds2 made himself something to eat, he is working soon. And he even did his dishes!
Yawning and trying not to fall asleep.😄
Forks and wooden skewers seem to be working, haven't caught that starling so far. I think they are nesting in next doors roof. Wish there was a thrush for all the snails!

Bet the washing smells lovely after being out all day, even the old faithful fleece 😄. Shopping is dangerous though, always end up buying more than planned 🙄.
