Been out with washing and potteting in garden in a t shirt and hoodie. Sitting in house with a coffee and painkillers, temp has plummeted and have now have a polo on underneath them!

Wind is picking up again. Just STOP!
Good grief more footie @DirtyGertiefromno30 !!!!! Enjoy ignoring it😄
Tea is simple today. Ds1 got Asian good from Aldi specials this week so he is sorted. Ds2 is working at 4 i think, might just make us omelettes. Will see what he wants.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 16/05/2026 15:22

The weather is completely unhinged today @Thebookofcarol 🙄You must have thought summer had finally arrived ,pottering about outside in just a T-shirt and hoodie, then suddenly back indoors layering up with coffee and painkillers while the wind starts throwing itself around again. Honestly it just needs to make its mind up now and STOP!

And good grief yes, more football again here , l wouldn't mind but Dh is snoring 😂.

We have completely opted out tonight. No football, no cooking effort, no stress 😁 We are having a Chinese takeaway and parking ourselves in front of Eurovision for the evening instead. Fully prepared for chaos, glitter, questionable outfits and key changes. Much better entertainment!

Your tea plan sounds good to me though. Omelettes are one of those perfect cannot be bothered meals and probably ideal with everyone doing different things tonight. Hope Ds2 decides quickly so you don’t end up standing there wondering what to make while being blown sideways by the weather again 🤣

Ha ha at being blown sideways @DirtyGertiefromno30 . Ds2 is fed, cheese omelette, and off to work. Now I am hungry! It's too early but my stomach is grumbling for a cheese omelette 😄
2nd washing finally done as it played up and I see remains of a tissue...😭
Just gonna hang it inside too late now and too cold.
Put more eggshells in pots and checked my hostas for snails. Thankfully never found any.

Hmmmm omelette here I cone.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 16/05/2026 17:27

I swear once someone mentions cheese omelette that’s it, game over 🤣
Typical tissue casualty in the washing too 😱 there’s always one sneaky bit left somewhere, white bits all over the washing now l bet 🙄.
Glad the Hostas passed the snail inspection 😁🙏
Right, stop resisting and make the omelette , you know you want to 🤣
Match just finished 🙄🤣
Yawn 🥱 God knows it's been a long season . it's blinking freezing here my feet are so cold like blocks of ice 😱

Tried Ds1s Chinese chicken curry. It's really nice, has coconut slivers and peas in it. It says mild but has a definite heat to it but not overly hot hot. Have cut the ingredients off the packaging so will try something similar. He also got the prawn toasts which are very nice too, plenty bits of prawns. If you see them in Aldi try them @DirtyGertiefromno30
I dozed off after my omelette! Had a toasted teacake and finished watching GW and Beechgrove. Those auriculas 😍😍 Am desperate to plant up my dahlias! No fair.
washing is in, plants are in. Its
Pjs time and The Hobbit appendices continue...

Thebookofcarolagain · 16/05/2026 18:52

Damm, rain is starting!

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 16/05/2026 19:17

That curry actually sounds lovely with the coconut slivers and peas , nice when a mild curry has a little warmth without blowing your head off 😋.
Aldi do sometimes pull out some cracking random finds. Those prawn toasts sound gorgeous too, I’d demolish those 🤣
I’m laughing at you dozing off after the omelette , proper cosy evening 🥱😁 Toasted teacake afterwards as well, living the dream there.
Not seen GW yet but will watch it before Eurovision starts .
Hopefully your Dahlias will be in soon enough and take off once they do 🤞.
Now the washing is done, plants tucked in and PJs on, that sounds like a perfect excuse for more Hobbiting. Very civilised evening indeed 😁
Chinese takeaway here DH just coming back with it looking forward to chicken chow mein and a pancake roll for me yummy 😋

Hi both. Weather was dry but raining now. Cold for May I feel, but apparently mid 20s later in the week.

Enjoy your Chinese and Eurovision @DirtyGertiefromno30 and catching up with GW @Thebookofcarolagain

Thebookofcarolagain · 16/05/2026 19:27

Mid twenties @FridayNighFeeling !!!! Wow, there's hope for us yet.😄
Enjoy your Chinese @DirtyGertiefromno30

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 16/05/2026 19:41

Definitely feels more like March than May today doesn’t it @FridayNighFeeling! The rain and cold wind can do one now. Hope you have a cosy evening too both 😁

Afternoon all.
Sun is playing hide and seek again. Lovely one minute cloudy the next.
My foxgloves in raised area are shooting up flower stems, (if you expand the photo you see them) my cow parsley has returned (i tried taking seed but it didn't work ) so I am happy. Will def get seeds this year. Also my random aquilegias are almost flowering. I love how they just self seed anywhere.
No big plans today will see how I feel.
Hope you all have a fab Sunday.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 17/05/2026 13:10

Afternoon everyone 🤗
Been to see Mum who was fine there thankfully 😁
Weather has perked up a bit l am going to chance the line 🤣.
Your garden sounds lovely @Thebookofcarolagain even with the sun playing silly games as per 😁. Foxgloves shooting up and Cow Parsley back again is a great sign, and Aquilegias self seeding everywhere is always lovely 😍
Hope you manage to get some seeds this year. A lovely quiet Sunday with no pressure sounds just perfect 🤗

Brought my plants back in as wind picked up and it was cooooold. Now sun is shining again..Aaaarrrghhhhhh Fingers crossed for washing @DirtyGertiefromno30
I think i need to move the bedraggled fern i got cut price at garden centre. I gave it a water and will move it tomorrow rp to a shadier spot. It's only in a pot just now to see if it would survive but its leaves are getting a bit brown...fingers crossed. I have 2 (another type of fern) out front coming out from under paving slabs in gravel area. One doesn't get much sun but the bigger one gets afternoon sun. Go figure.

Made ds2 a saus and bacon butty otherwise he wouldn't have eaten before work and made myself one to. Now I am stuffed! Grrr.
Hmm now its cloudy again!

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 17/05/2026 15:19

Afternoon everyone again 😊
Just spent £18.50 on a few and l mean a few bits in Aldis 🙄
Visited Mums friend in hospital, then took his Grandaughter for shopping to Aldis , hence my shop there too.
Weather is awful , hailstorms , heavy rain, grey misery guts sky 🙄
Washing in the tumble needless to say@Thebookofcarolagain
Just having a cuppa , have just had a chicken salad so been good , no Garabaldi's 😂

OP posts:
DirtyGertiefromno30 · 17/05/2026 15:23

The weather is definitely playing games withus both today @Thebookofcarolagain 🤣.
One minute emergency plant rescue and the next bright sunshine again!
Your poor bargain fern sounds like it’s trying its best bless it. Funny how the ferns growing through paving slabs seem tougher than the pampered ones in pots 😂 . Just typical!
Fingers crossed it perks up 🤞🤗
And the sausage and bacon butty was clearly essential quality control for Ds2’s dinner 😋😁
Now the sun will probably come back properly just to annoy again 🤣

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 17/05/2026 15:25

Just read my posts l packed a lot into 2 hours 9 minutes. Plus a row with Dh for sulking about taking the granddaughter shopping, he regretted it l can tell you 🤣

OP posts:
DirtyGertiefromno30 · 17/05/2026 15:26

Not being funny but l put up with all the football , he can at least give her a lift to the shop, the misery guts 🤣

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 17/05/2026 15:27

I am going to have those Garabaldi's now that will teach him ! 🤣😋

OP posts:
Thebookofcarolagain · 17/05/2026 17:08

You have been busy @DirtyGertiefromno30
And good for you putting Dh in his place 😉 Men!
Enjoy your victory garibaldis..
Haven't bothered putting plants out again, weather just changes! But hailstones!
Am watching more The Hobbit Appendices. Had to try several batteries before I got the damm controller to work
Must get a new one but it will have to wait till next month! I use the ancient xbox so I shouldn't be surprised the controller isn't 100% now.
Got the guy coming to the outside tap tomorrow afternoon. Have to be in all blooming afternoon!

Thebookofcarolagain · 17/05/2026 17:21

@DirtyGertiefromno30
YOU JINXED ME
We have hailstones! !
Wth????

Hahaha I absolutely did jinx you there @Thebookofcarolagain🤣. Hailstones in May is just too much honestly. One minute sun, next minute the sky is pelting ice at us
I’m glad you kept the plants in though. They’d be getting weather whiplash being marched in and out every five minutes. Poor bedraggled fern would probably pack its own suitcase at this point 😆
And good grief at the controller. Nothing more annoying than having to perform battery roulette just to watch something. Ancient Xboxes really do survive through pure stubbornness. Hope you manage to get a new controller next month because life’s too short to fight electronics every evening.
The Hobbit Appendices sound like a cosy way to spend the day though. I could happily disappear into all the behind the scenes stuff for hours.
Fingers crossed the outside tap guy actually turns up on time tomorrow and doesn’t have you hostage all afternoon for nothing! Though with this weather he might arrive by canoe at this rate

OP posts:
Thebookofcarolagain · 17/05/2026 18:42

Rain stopped and sun is now peeking through the clouds!
The time for the guy tomorrow is 12 till 5 @DirtyGertiefromno30 . Not even a rough time! Shocking.
Yes I love all the behind the scenes stuff too. All the stuff from the actors too😄

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 17/05/2026 19:25

Typical isn’t it @Thebookofcarolagain. One minute hailstones and freezing wind, next minute sun 🙄.That time slot tomorrow is ridiculous though. Basically your whole afternoon gone waiting around with no clue when they’ll actually appear 🙄
Hearing the actors talk about filming and all the little details makes you appreciate it even more l think and they had such wonderful camaraderie between them 🤗
Had marmite on toast and a cuppa for tea, just putting the washing away 😁

OP posts:
Thebookofcarolagain · 17/05/2026 20:11

Yep, despite all the endless hard work they seemed to have had a ball @DirtyGertiefromno30 .
Plus all the work done behind the scenes, such talented people.
I havent even made tea. Ds1 came down after i made ds2s sarnie and asked if there was bacon left. I said yes. He then went back upstairs and hasn't come down again. No doubt eating snacks till he can be bothered to cook bacon.

Thebookofcarolagain · 17/05/2026 20:25

OMG Stephen Colbert looks so much younger...how can that be? Its only a couple of years ago!
