Good morning. Come and chat. Somewhere to escape to if the rest of life is too overwhelming..or just to relax.

Hi boddtm
I find it disconcerting when there's extra people.

EmmaH2022 · 12/04/2022 21:53

Oops, hit send too soon

Could you say you feel ill or something?

LilyRed · 12/04/2022 22:12

@EmmaH2022 I urge you, do get Powers of attorney set up ASAP for health and finances, if your Mother has a diagnosis of Alzheimer's / dementia, it is too late. 😕 As for advice, I find the Alheimer's society forum on their website most useful.

I kept on encouraging DP to set up these for MIL but it fell on deaf ears until it was too late; she was reticent anyway as she believes he will steal all her money. It is starting to be problematic. At least her GP surgery knows me and I can talk to her Doctor(s) which helps, but we have explained to her that if hospitalised, we cannot make decisions for her.

Regarding these fritillaries, disappearing is why I learnt to grow them in pots! 🤩 I love the unusual markings on them.

In the wild in the UK this variety grows in grazed water-meadows that flood in the winter (I think Wiltshire is the only documented place with an extant population in the wild now) so it is quite tricky to get the right place!

I did have a couple of crown imperials (F. Imperialis) here in pots in Scotland, but the cold got them, and grew F persica (the tall dusky black multiflowered one) and F michaelovskyi (small purple/maroon bells with yellow lips) in pots in my garden in England successfully.

Can you ask annoying cousin to text less (once a week?)as you are v.v. busy with yr. health, mother and family? I hate this sort of thing! 🙄😖

LilyRed · 12/04/2022 22:14

@boddtm telling them that one of the children had developed a tummy bug overnight always worked for me! 😈

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 13/04/2022 08:56

Who's the optimistic person in Chat hoping to change the use of SEN? 😄

EmmaH2022 · 13/04/2022 09:27

LilyRed oh, I thought fritillary would cope in cold weather.

I have no garden btw, only just occasionally put new stuff in mum's garden.

Re Power of Attorney, we have those, we both have Finance and Health.

Re cousin, I need to give her a while. Our mum is like her mum - long story - so the daily texts are because she knows not to phone and disturb mum but she wants to hear how mum is.

When mum resumes their daily phone chats, which should be soon, I'll say something.

I owe my cousin a lot, tbh, so I have to be "kind"!

Maybe she's not a nuisance but my perception of many things is skewed, post lockdown.

LilyRed · 14/04/2022 22:50

Emma that is good all the necessaries are set up already, even if you never need them. I do hope your mum is getting better.

Barrow I missed the SEN post, but as for the contretemps on the other thread, there are some horrid shitposters about: I think that one is a serial name-changer as their tone is familiar. I fully concur with what you were saying, FIL's end of life was unforgivably dragged out by MIL and BIL; poor man, he starved himself in the end.

LilyRed · 14/04/2022 22:57

also I am not only still horribly snotty, but also very grumpy as I fell down the stairs on my arse because the dog had left a toy there.

My coccyx is very painful and my arthritic knee hurts. Have just taken another paracetamol😖🤕

EmmaH2022 · 15/04/2022 10:00

Oh Lily, I'm sorry to hear that. Hope it's less painful today?

EmmaH2022 · 17/04/2022 20:33

Hello. How is everyone? I’m at mum’s. she is very down, understandably. Alas, it is bringing me down too.

On the plus side, this week I have been much better about doing small domestic chores before work. It’s very helpful. I’m not naturally tidy so hope this will make a difference. I actually like cleaning but it takes too long due to not putting things away etc.

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 17/04/2022 20:45

I'm feeling weak due to the injections. Can't move much. Feel fed up. Dunno why I'm even doing them.

Hope everyone is okay.

EmmaH2022 · 17/04/2022 22:32

Sorry to hear that Barrow
I stopped those as I didn’t lose weight anyway.
I said I was just going to stay fat. Bought a load of new clothes instead of delaying “till I lose weight”. Really pleased with them. Wish I had done that before.

But I am occasionally still thinking half heartedly of losing weight.

EmmaH2022 · 17/04/2022 22:33

PS Barrow actually the “can’t move much” is a worry. Could you have a bug maybe?

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 18/04/2022 09:13

Nah, not illness unfortunately. I've changed my injection to night time to see if this helps. I'm sorry it didn't work for you either. Losing weight is so difficult isn't it?

EmmaH2022 · 18/04/2022 11:29

Yes, it is so hard. Hope the time change helps.

Either my brain has fallen out or the Threads I’m Watching but has vanished on here. So confused.

BoardLikeAMirror · 18/04/2022 17:36

Sorry to hear you are struggling with your injections, Barrow - I hope changing the time works.

How has Easter been for everyone? Mine was nice and quiet, just me and DH. We went for a long walk yesterday which I was really glad I managed, as my bout of Covid had a negative effect on my stamina so I have been trying to build it up again.

LilyRed · 18/04/2022 23:25

glad everyone is getting better, but Barrow, remember, waffy twig!🌱 stop it! I am not sure I could trust those injections and they sound like you are becoming rather poorly.

Emma I daren't buy more clothes ( I am mrs tu at Sainsburys! too cheap and tempting) My wardrobe is bulging and I have a sort of spring summer wardrobe already: I also made a resolution to mend more.

Still very achy from falling down the stairs and a lovely set of bruises - ouch! A good excuse to take it easy for a bit.

Board well done on the long walk, yesterday was a lovely day for it.
I think two lots of sub-covid lurgies in a row have also worn me down.

EmmaH2022 · 19/04/2022 08:19

*Lily^ I didn’t buy new clothes for years, thinking I’d lose weight. Wish I’d bought stuff before.

Hope you get less ouchy today.

bjjgirl · 19/04/2022 14:07

Hello can I join? I have adhd and I am really struggling at work today, my symptoms are over whelming and I can't sit still or read, no idea why today is so bad

bjjgirl · 19/04/2022 14:08

Usually I self medicate through sport which I'll do tonight and I am also on high doses of citalophram but today is the worst I've been in ages

EmmaH2022 · 19/04/2022 14:38

Hi bjjgirl welcome.

I'm sorry today is bad. Hopefully you'll feel more settled after tonight.

bjjgirl · 19/04/2022 17:17

I survived work, well to be honest went for a walk and just counted the hours until i finished,
I got a bit of work done but could not focus, usually I blaze through work but I couldn't get in the zone, my shoes felt too tight (same trainers I usually wear but I get this is I have anxiety) and I could feel my heart beat

Just been the gym so I feel so much better and I'm with my kids now

EmmaH2022 · 19/04/2022 17:40

Glad you feel better

I get weird physical stuff with anxiety too.

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 20/04/2022 10:38

I have adhd too. Citalopram made my feel wired and hyper 🤪

Sertraline was more calming. My adhd son takes this for anxiety. Perhaps request a change of med?

EmmaH2022 · 20/04/2022 13:07

Barrow how are you feeling?
