Good morning. Come and chat. Somewhere to escape to if the rest of life is too overwhelming..or just to relax.

I'm having a solitary evening of Duolingo, Mario 64 and going to bed in the knowledge I am technically still working since I'm irradiating some materials, some of which I invented.

LilyRed · 22/03/2022 22:55

Barrow, that video is so funny Grin thankyou

Congratulations on your lad getting his apprenticeship - what is he doing?

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 22/03/2022 23:33

He's going to be doing lab work. His btec is in applied science.

LilyRed · 23/03/2022 00:10

Excellent - good luck to him!

ofwarren · 23/03/2022 08:10

@BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation

I'm really chuffed for my youngest son, who's aspergers, because he's been given an apprenticeship 😃

Great news!

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 23/03/2022 08:58

I just have to get him up each morning now 😆 I'm so proud of him and he's done so well after a bad time at secondary school and having to leave cos he was bullied. He did online education and got eight IGCSEs then goes to FE college and gets on really well with everyone and there's been no bullying. He is 6ft 2 though so......😄 he's a leader in air cadets and does teaching and stuff and can do shooting and weapons handling in competitions. He has friends. He's a lovely lad.

What's everyone up to today? I'm doing some dog walking then teaching ds how to use the Metro. I'm not sure myself these days mind you 🤦‍♀️

ofwarren · 23/03/2022 12:42

My eldest has just tested positive for covid...
My 7 year old is CEV so now I'm not going to be able to focus on anything else for a week or 2.

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 23/03/2022 13:08

Oh no. Are you going to be able to separate them? Do CEV children have a vaccination now?

BoardLikeAMirror · 23/03/2022 17:22

How awful, ofwarren Flowers . Will you be able to get anti-virals for your 7 year old if needed - I understand they are greatly helping CEV people?

BlackeyedSusan · 24/03/2022 20:43

Oh no sorry to hear that.

I am being driven to distraction by a fucking fox. That yelpy screamy bark they do. It wandered across the garden yelping and I can still hear it randomly.

It's probably in the small patch of wild ground out the back.

Ooo, haven't seen a fox for ages. I did see a hare today though. Funny things they are, all lanky.

No, you have to be 12 to get antivirals

EmmaH2022 · 25/03/2022 00:28

ofwarren how are the DC?

Barrow lucky you, seeing a hare! Can't remember the last time I saw one, was in the countryside years ago...and I only saw it for a few seconds!

I'm trying to figure out if there's a useful way to channel my hyperactive and obsessive brain. Have recently got into fashion and can apparently spend hours looking at desirable items of clothing!

Trying to go to bed...last two nights, trying to be in bed early resulted in being up till 3am. I am tired in the morning but very perky in the night. I am naturally a night owl but it's not very convenient.

ofwarren · 25/03/2022 05:27

EmmaH kids are still fine, no symptoms yet. I've got horrible anxiety sensation, it woke me up. Does anyone know if that can be a symptom? I don't actually feel anxious but the feeling in my body is the same. My heart isn't particularly racing but I just feel so weird. I want to go back to sleep but I can't.

BoardLikeAMirror · 25/03/2022 06:22

@ofwarren I'm glad to hear your DC are still fine.

I found this online about how to tell between anxiety and Covid symptoms -

www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/anxiety-symptoms-vs-covid-19-symptoms

Whichever it is, I hope the feeling eases off soon and you can get some rest. Flowers

I'm in the 'up early' club today, because I'm expecting a call from the doctor so of course the moment I woke up at about 5:30 there was no hope of getting back to sleep.

BlackeyedSusan · 26/03/2022 08:33

Just flapping quietly in the corner. DD gone on a walk. 5 miles. She can only walk a mile normally.

I've got to take ds swimming. I have been swimming before so it's not as bad as it could be. Majorly stressed.

Change of routine.

How're your littlies ofw?

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 26/03/2022 08:45

Morning. Hope everyone is okay. Hope your kids are okay ofwarren. I guess at least you can well ventilate the house in the better weather.

BoardLikeAMirror · 26/03/2022 09:17

Morning everyone. Hope your DC are still doing well, ofwarren and that BlackeyedSusan gets through the swimming disruption OK.

Hoping we can make the most of the weather today and go out but need to think of somewhere I don't feel too stressed about going to. Definitely don't feel up to anywhere new at the moment.

BlackeyedSusan · 26/03/2022 09:21

Thanks and hope you find somewhere board.

Been listening to Kyiv Calling on you tube this morning.

Hope everyone is okay.

I have been wondering if there's a more productive way to channel my tendency to get obsessive about odd things on a more productive way. As ever, there's probably no secret beyond just getting on with stuff.

Also would be good to channel hyper phases better but I have fewer of those as I get older.
