Anyone else fed up with some of the blatant anti-muslim hatred on mumsnet?

I don't know if i should even bother trying to address it anymore.
Anyone else fed up?

@headstone They give you such a hard time and they're really not interested in trying to learn anything new or different to what they believe. To them Islam is bad and they'll use any means to try prove it and push their agenda.

headstone · 16/09/2024 19:01

You’re right anotherlevel. It’s their agenda which is concerning. I have come across a few people like that in real life that really have a problem with Islam. It makes me feel uncomfortable but fortunately I still think they are in the minority although the protests in August were worrying.

anotherlevel · 16/09/2024 19:04

I've decided to leave them to it as well. There hearts are sealed and that's fine but we know how beautiful Islam is and we tried our best.

Don't bother ladies, there is a very clear agenda on that thread. You all tried your best to engage in good faith and certain posters spoke down to you like they just knew better. It's an example of covert racism (Islamaphobia is too weak a term right now) and supremacist bullying.

You're right Another the vast majority of ordinary Brits are not like that, there a very well funded campaign right now to paint Islam in a very evil light, it will pass as many people see right through it. ❤️

This...it's just really spiteful cowards sitting there with the specific agenda of trying to goad others/manipulate things /"what about"..

Trying to create an "us Vs them" mentality and Other anyone from a Muslim background.

Very courageous trying to go for a mums forum, too 🙄 proper big men there.

Woman with garment on head - easy hate target for cowards.

Why not go debate at the local masjid?

Stay safe everyone, mentally and physically. I'd say lean into self-care and find alternative online spaces. Also Thanks everybody for supporting x We're all human beings after all.

Is it ok to ask what MarsBounty said on the other thread, about Saudi Arabia? I was interested to read, but it was deleted before I saw. People were accusing her of justifying Saudi Arabian inequality, but from what they've written, I suspect she was being misrepresented.. .
I totally get if this isn't possible.

I don't remember everything she said but she said it was one of the safest place she's ever lived/been to.

AliasGrace47 · 16/09/2024 22:21

Thanks, anotherlevel, that's interesting. I've heard similar about Dubai.

headstone · 17/09/2024 15:32

There also appears to be an agenda against Gaza which I’ve just seen mentioned. I think by portraying Muslims as enslavers and rapists it becomes easier to justify the genocide in Gaza. There is a lot of pressure on western governments to carry on supporting this genocide. Portraying Muslims and Islam as bad certainly helps with this agenda.

mitogoshigg · 17/09/2024 15:55

I'm not a Muslim but I'm a Christian, there is an anti religion bias for sure, i think it's people trying to justify their own opinion

AliasGrace47 · 17/09/2024 15:56

Is it ok to ask one more question? It's fine if not.
One question on the thread was whether it would be OK for a man to sexually harass a woman, whether Muslim or not, who wasn't dressed modestly by Islamic standards, or whether she would be judged as 'asking for it'. I'm assuming, from what I've read, that harassing a woman, would be seen as wrong, however she was dressed?

AliasGrace47 · 17/09/2024 16:44

I see MarsBounty replied something about believing women. Does anyone know what she wrote? I get if people have had enough of answering questions.

@AliasGrace47 absolutely not.

I thought it wouldn't. Thank you for replying. It's good to get information from people directly, rather than relying on misinformation...

It doesn't matter if a woman is Muslim or non-Muslim, or if she's wearing an abaya or a ballgown or a bikini, a Muslim man should treat her with respect. He should observe appropriate boundaries, not look at her lustfully, not make her feel uncomfortable, and absolutely definitely 100% not sexually harass her.

TakeMe2Insanity · 19/09/2024 19:34

Just to add in Islam there is an obligation for men to lower their gaze rather than eyeing up/harassing/more etc.

anotherlevel · 11/10/2024 09:24

It was so awful how they tried to discredit Imam Omar Suleiman yesterday as if he had connections with Hamas and calling it propaganda.

You've posted a link but you have given no indication on what it's about and what your thoughts are on it. Some posters prefer not to open links so it maybe helpful if you could post what it's about please.

Not on Mumsnet but did anyone see this? A man slashed the neck of a 7 year old Yemeni girl in Detroit.

Inna lillah wa inna ilayhi rajiun. That's terrible, imagine having so much hate for muslims that you attack a small child playing in a park.
