I can't be the only one who loves this band more than life itself (well almost).
I only just discovered them a month ago. I can't believe I missed so much.

OP posts:
senua · 26/02/2010 21:11

I saw them in Birmingham.
Big Pink were OK but had the same drums on every track.

LyraSilvertongue · 26/02/2010 21:14

The strobe lights were an issue, I heard. Couldn't see them either

senua · 26/02/2010 21:17

We had no problem with the strobes - we were down in the mosh pit, not up in the seating.

LyraSilvertongue · 26/02/2010 21:21

Wish I could have been standing. But I got scammed by a dodgy website and my standing tickets, ordered and paid for in June, never arrived. I had to go to the O2 at 3pm on the day and queue all afternoon in the hope that last minute tickets would be released. Thankfully some were at about 7pm. I've never been so happy (was my first time seeing Muse)

LyraSilvertongue · 26/02/2010 21:22

Are you going to any of the stadium gig this year?
I'm going to the Stade de France in Paris in June and I have tickets for both nights at Wembley in September.

senua · 26/02/2010 21:50

I remember your posts at the time about your missing tickets. Hair-raising but good that it had a happy ending.
I'm not going to any stadia.

LyraSilvertongue · 26/02/2010 22:03

Matt says Kasabian are supporting. Please let it be true. Would be a big improvement on the Big Pink but I'd settle for Biffy Clyro.

Stumbleine · 01/03/2010 20:24

I was down there in the Brum moshpit senua (MellonCollie/ManyofHorror here) .

Can't wait for September!

LyraSilvertongue · 01/03/2010 21:15

Another name change?
Which show are you going to again?

Stumbleine · 02/03/2010 09:33

What can I say - I'm on the run easily bored!

Going to Manchester one.

LyraSilvertongue · 03/03/2010 00:17

Me too. I've got a big stack of user names but tend to alternate these days between LyraSilvertongue and MattBellamysMuse.
I was going to Manchester but then foolishly booked a holiday where we don't get back till September 6th. Didn't realise till after the deposit had been paid.
Now I'll have to sell the tickets. Idiot. September 4th is my birthday and the Muse gig was supposed to be my birthday treat.

Lu0509 · 21/04/2010 09:46

I AM a worshipper!!!

Stumbleine · 23/04/2010 23:50

Welcome to the church Lu!

LyraSilvertongue · 29/04/2010 20:23

Excellent, a new member of the congregation!

LyraSilvertongue · 07/05/2010 17:04

Anyone else going to any of the European summer shows? The line-up for Paris on June 12th is now: Muse, Kasabian, White Lies and Devotchka. Fantastic!

overmydeadbody · 22/05/2010 22:52

That Paris line up sounds great Lyra, are you going?

I will have to wait till october to see the almighty Muse

LyraSilvertongue · 26/05/2010 18:19

I am going. I was also at the Casino de Paris gig last night. Just got home after an epic road trip with three other fans I hadn't met before. had an amazing time.

senua · 17/06/2010 15:13

Erm, I note that no-one has mentioned their latest single. Am I the only one who thinks that it is awful? I could just about tolerate Guiding Light but the present song (no idea of its title) seems like a worrying extension of that stadium-rock vibe. Worse than that, Muse sound like a third-rate parody of themselves.
What happened?

LyraSilvertongue · 17/06/2010 20:34

Lol, not at all, I agree it's not their greatest work. It has grown on me and it's great fun live but it is a cheese-fest from start to finish (well, the piano outro is nice but the rest smells of Camembert).

senua · 18/06/2010 08:01

Ah, so i am suffering from a sense of humour failure? I admit that I haven't seen a video of it. I never needed a video for Knights of Cyd though: that one makes me larf every time I hear it whilst simultaneously being a cracking tune.

LyraSilvertongue · 18/06/2010 19:40

Matt wrote NSC just after his break-up with his fiancee, so it's about that. 'We said our love would be forever' etc.
The video's full of clips from the Eclipse movie.

Here

Stumbleine · 29/06/2010 11:20

How amazing was their Glasto set!? I'm so excited about September now!! Although slightly gutted that we get the Editors as opposed to Biffy.

LyraSilvertongue · 04/07/2010 21:52

Glasto set was amazing. It got a lot of negativity on the Muse board though.
I can't wait for Wembley. The Stade de France gig seems like ages ago now. I need my live Muse fix. What will I do after Wembley?

LyraSilvertongue · 04/07/2010 21:53

Tbh, I think Manchester has the best supports. I love Band of Skulls. I love Biffy but I've never seen Editors. Shame we didn't get Kasabian - they were great at SDF. I guess they're too big in the UK to support Muse here.
