Anyone else miss the old gigs thread and have concerts planned?

Didn't there used to be a Gigs thread?

Anyway, just sorted tickets etc for Masta Ace + Live Band (!) at the Jazz Cafe nexrt month. Very excited about that! No late-night train to get home from Euston, sadly, means an overnight London stay, though. Resigning myself to being the oldest in the audience by some distance 😃, but I can live with that.

@greatestofallfine

saw goldie looking chain 18 months ago and they were fun, on the bill with sleeper, cast and the fratellies

next up i have Justin Sullivan & Dean White (friday) and then Wille and the Bandits on Sunday.

Then The Levellers this week.

DH and I are going to see Dominik Diamond singing songs from computer games this week. Something a bit different. Not sure if it’ll be more like a gig or a mix of songs and talking/comedy though.

Going to see Vashti Bunyan this evening at the new venue at New Century Hall in Manchester. Interested to see how the new venue works.

This thread is very upsetting, I've not heard of most of the acts people are going to see 😂

I recognise most of them, but not many are bands I'd want to see! I remember seeing someone mention Stevie Wonder, so I just had a look. A few tickets left in Manchester, cheapest is £399! 😦

my next gig is seeing Simon Armitage the poet laureate giving a reading in a local church. Not my usual thing at all 🤣🤣

Ive got Gig Life Crisis next weekend in Coventry.
I do mostly grass roots gigs, there's plenty and they're affordable.

Last year I got ours for £50 through Twickets. He was incredible. An absolute rip roarer of a gig.

I'm in the Gig Life Crisis group as well 😁

You're not improving my mood there... 😛

I feel like I need to investigate gig life crisis…

BringBackTheLight · 05/10/2026 09:42

Have a look on facebook, lots of people who go to gigs alone meet up with others safely through it.

Tarkan · 06/10/2026 11:18

😢 oh I’m sorry. That’s so disappointing.

Anyone fancy Bananarama? I'm tempted. Smile

CMOTDibbler · 07/10/2026 16:31

Lol, though I think it would be a great night out!
I went to the osteopath this morning, he asked how my festival trip was and said 'please tell me you didn't end up in a moshpit'. My assurance that this had only happened by accident when it opened up right by me, but I did have a crowdsurfer dropped on me during The Prodigy earned me an eyeroll and an enquiry if I was going to make better life choices soon...

LittleJustice · 07/10/2026 22:02

I've got The Beat and The Selecter on Friday. Looking forward to a good night of dancing 💃

Bananarama are playing with Tony Hadley and Altered Images. Slightly tempted but already seen the other 2 at the Rewind Festival a couple of years ago.

Just booked Jayler for February and Bleech 9:3 for April. Seriously considering nickleback next may as well. Will have a look at the presale next week

Silverbirchleaf · 09/10/2026 19:30

Just saw that Will Young has added some extra dates. He’s superb live - entertaining, funny, and a real story teller, and of course, can sing.

CMOTDibbler · 09/10/2026 20:03

In a totally unbelievable turn of events my 'lets look at the Live Nation presale and see what happens' has turned into tickets to see Aerosmith!!! Lifelong dream unlocked as well to go see a band on the Sunset strip

I saw Wille & The Bandits quite a few years ago at a festival, I listened to a bit of their stuff beforehand just to get an idea if I’d like them or not as we were trying to decide which stages to go to at what times.
For some reason I’d assumed they were from southern USA, got a big shock when he started talking Grin

JBJ · 09/10/2026 23:04

Managed to get presale tickets to see Slash featuring Miles Kennedy and the Conspirators for July in Scarborough. Can’t wait for that as they were fab last time I saw them. Contemplating trying for Nickleback when they are released.
