Having come across some v misogynistic attitudes across social media on heavy metal boards I thought I would start a thread were is women fans of all things hard and heavy could hang out, feel free to say hi.

Absolutely gutted Nicko has hung up his touring drumsticks. But looking forward to seeing the new drummer Simon Dawson next summer with Maiden. Will miss Sooty though

Actually yeah there were a few good bands: Hyperstasis and Sixth Wonder were good, and Hallowver. Those last two were female led and I really enjoyed them both. Oh, and a band called DeadFire.

Everything else after that is a bit of a blur tbh 😁 and I ended up in the bar chatting so didn't properly watch any more than that.

Thought I'd missed out, but just got some official resale tickets to see Opeth next weekend. Am ridiculously excited! Anyone else going to catch them?

Enjoy, the videos I've seen and photography from the European dates every show look amazing. I haven't seen them in around 15 years but the new album is just stunning and it just really felt it was time to get involved again!

I'm going with my brother who's more into them than me, but I'll go to most gigs really. He sent me the set list so I can get to know the songs, so I need to give that a listen.

You'd think with me being a drummer I'd love them but the drumbeat is so meandering and varied that sometimes I find it quite a frustrating listen, and want it into settle into a proper groove!

Oh I get that Let, I've been a fan since pretty much the beginning, am not musical and it still takes a long time for me to 'hear' their songs, I can't imagine going in blind at this point!

I've looked at the set lists from shows last week and it does seem like quite a nicely varied and melodic collection of tracks, don't think it will be a full-on assault 😂

I know it's not heavy metal but we're off to see Nine Inch Nails this weekend. It's my first time seeing them and I'm very excited

Ive got tickets for Metallica next year, but tbh I’m really only going for Gojira!

Gig front is pretty quiet this year which I’m sad about. Considered Deftones just to stop the gig cravings but it’s a 12 hour round trip, so gave up on that idea.

Big arena gigs are too pricey for me at the moment or I’d jump at the chance to see Metallica again. While I wouldn’t list them as a favourite band per se, they’re absolutely my favourite live band. Last time I saw them we were practically at the back row of the place right up in the gods, but it was as electrifying and exciting as if we were right at the front. That feeling never left me and I’ll always love them for that. Have a great time.

Make sure you catch Dirty Honey. They’re excellent

We saw Michael Monroe recently. He’s still an amazing front man.
