Welcome one and all to the new thread. A safe haven for MNetters who identify as neurodiverse, diagnosis or not, and those waiting for assessment. Links available in recent threads. Newbies welcome. We just ask that you introduce yourself Smile

Rat I feel the same about group work. I always say something ridiculous like 'god do we really have to do this? Hahaha' and then everyone just stares at me.

BigDamnHero · 14/11/2016 17:20

Guess who just hid on the landing and sobbed? FFS.

I always hated group work. I remember saying as much once when we had to do group work during my post grad, assuming everyone felt the same (because most of the people I'm close to do feel the same since they're all spergy types, too), and they were all really offended! Blush

autisticrat · 14/11/2016 17:23

They took it personally? Confused

I've started a tread here
If anyone can be bothered to have a look I'll be very grateful GrinBrewCakeChocolate

I'm having a no brain day and need translators - English to stupid - please.

PigPigTrotters · 14/11/2016 19:27

A thread, not a tread.

I've seen and posted back with thoughts as they happened Grin
Thank you Flowers

Group work is horrendous, I don't understand the enthusiasm for it. At all.
I'm really not coping with my thesis, in that I've been so nervous about having to present the thing from the very beginning, that I've never properly started working on it. And now I really need to start otherwise I'm never going to finish at all and I can't do it. It's weighing on my mind quite badly.
Any and all advice for thesis writing would be gratefully received.
The psych sessions are tiring as well, I don't feel like I'm doing my job well at all at the moment, I'm not sleeping and I'm just generally fed up.

SwearyInn · 14/11/2016 21:53

The problem with group work is that everybody else is always wrong. And they don't like to be told.

FaithAscending · 14/11/2016 22:06

Lol sweary.

I'm not good with group work. I have a tendency to take over Blush

I do too. And I think of thoughts a bit randomly and have to share immediately. Timing in conversations is not my forte.

firewithfire · 14/11/2016 22:12

Ha ha sweary, exactly. I hate group work too.

Laura, you made the newsletter!

LauraMipsum · 15/11/2016 11:40

Newsletter? What newsletter?

BigDamnHero · 15/11/2016 11:42

Rat, yeah, I was really taken aback by them taking it personally!

Thanks, Polter, I'm feeling a bit better today so far but DS1 is off sick again and DS2 has already had a meltdown this morning so we'll see how the day goes.

Pig, I had a glance at your thread but Polter seemed to be doing a better job than I could. I always feel like emails/forms/letters are ambiguous and confusing. I'm pretty sure I'm a reasonably intelligent person but I struggle hugely with that sort of thing and it makes me feel so stupid.

rivierliedje, I can't offer much advice other than to plan well. Plans seem like a waste of time but actually a good one makes any writing take much less time in the long run.

firewithfire · 15/11/2016 12:29

The MN newsletter. Went to screenshot you and pig is in there too. It's a very neurodivergent week I guess

Oh gosh of all the things to be immortalised over. Mr Tumble's potential shagworthiness. Grin

firewithfire · 15/11/2016 12:46

We've watched a lot of CBeebies today and I've had that image in my head so thanks Smile

BigDamnHero · 15/11/2016 14:32

I feel like I'm already out of spoons today and DS1 keeps demanding more and more. And DH has messaged to say he's working late so I won't even get my usual respite before the boys go to bed.

autisticrat · 15/11/2016 14:52

CLOUD PERSON!! Grin

WTF are these? Saw them many years ago - photos don't do them justice; they were roiling and boiling incredibly quickly for clouds, the bubbles of cloud swelling up like bubbles in porridge. I've always wondered what they were.
