Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?
My perception of it as an expensive drink. There are also a lot of similar products (glass bottled, fruity, sparkling) out there now so I am more likely to pick up a more unusual flavour than apple if I want that sort of drink as a treat.
Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?
Smart bottles. The fizz wasn't too strong, just right. Natural enough flavours. My favourite as a stand alone drink was the pear one - delicious cold from the fridge. The two mixed fruit flavours made outstanding mixers for rum or vodka cocktails - yum!
Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?
Not so keen on the apple, especially when drunk straight after the delicious pear one. Maybe it's because it wasn't cold.
Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?
As a treat if on offer. At a family meal or small gathering. From a shop fridge if they were in smaller disposable containers.
Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?
As mentioned above the mixed fruit ones made great cocktails - the mango one with dark rum was like a daiquiri without the slushy ice and the cranberry one went well with vodka. With food, I'd say they'd go with anything as they are light enough a flavour and not too fizzy. Probably very nice with curry.
Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?
My husband, who can't drink alcohol due to migraines, was very impressed and felt that the pear one made a nice cider substitute and the cranberry one was a nice wine substitute. My children, ages 6 and 1, liked them, but in smaller doses as they don't like fizzy drinks much.
Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?
I don't buy this type of drink very often these days as I find a nice squash with fizzy water is just as nice and cheaper in the long run.
Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?
Product - continue with expanding the flavours, maybe two or three more.
Packaging - make it easier to keep in the fridge (although the shape is recognisable and part of the brand so that's a tough call). Produce smaller versions for newsagent fridges.
Marketing - I can't remember seeing any marketing before receiving the parcel so can't comment more than to say that the 'natural mother' approach felt a bit done and too obvious.
Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?
If you want the mums to start using it as a drink for their children (lunchboxes etc) then you need to change the packaging and look drastically and go down the route brands like Innocent smoothies have gone. On the other hand, if you want the mothers themselves to be the main drinkers you need to be sure that mums would actually go out of their way to treat themselves to a nice drink like this on a regular basis. Not sure this would work as for me this sort of drink is an occasional treat for all the family. However there is maybe something to be said for marketing it as mixer for the 'sophisticated' long evening drink after the kids are in bed [shrug]
Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?
Yes, definitely, and I already have.
Other comments. The presentation box was lovely and almost as exciting as the free drinks! Most definitely keeping that as pretty storage
I only received for big bottles and thought there were meant to be 6 small ones too. Maybe I'm wrong and misunderstood the other thread. Not complaining but just to say there's only feedback from me on the large bottles.
