Many thanks for taking part in the Appletiser product test - please find below the questions that Appletiser would like you to answer. Please add your feedback once you've been able to try the drinks.

There are a number of questions as Appletiser are so keen to know what you think - please feel free to use these either as a prompt - telling us your overall views using these as a guide, or to answer each question individually.

If you have any other comments please add them below - they genuinely would like to know how they could improve on both the product and how it is promoted to both women such as yourself and to families.

Everyone who adds feedback to this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky winner will win a £250 voucher for the store of their choice.

Thanks and good luck

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?
More expensive than other sparkling ‘posh’ drinks and doesn’t tend to be on special offer very frequently.

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour? The Mango and Mandarin, though I really liked all of them. I really like the fact that they are made from 100% fruit juice unlike other sparkling drinks with a small percentage of fruit juice and loads of flavourings and added sugar. This makes them less ‘sickly’ than other drinks I’ve tried.

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?
I think my least favourite was the pomegranate and raspberry one, though even that was pleasant and refreshing, albeit not thirst-quenching. Somehow the sloping bottle tends to slip out of your hand pretty easily so maybe either a wine-bottle shape or one more similar to Shloer bottles would make it easier to pour.

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?
Special occasions, birthdays, Christmas, entertaining friends or perhaps with Sunday roast

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?
Just about anything! I don’t drink wine so don’t tend to think in terms of which beverages ‘should’ be served with different foods.

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?
My husband - he also really enjoyed them. His favourite was Peartiser followed by Appletiser.

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?
We tend to buy Shloer because it is frequently on Buy One Get One Free, so we stock up for special occasions. Having tried these Appletiser products I prefer the taste of them to Shloer or Ame.

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?
More offers, better advertising particularly for the Fruitiser ones - Most people know of Appletiser but aren’t familiar with Peartiser or Fruitiser. I like the product itself though most people probably aren't aware that it's just pure, sparkling fruit juice so that should be emphasised more.

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?
Have it more widely available in restaurants, pubs etc, more advertising there to promote it rather than mums-to-be thinking it’s a choice of orange juice, cola or lemonade! Perhaps putting a voucher in Bounty packs/ Tesco Mother & Baby Club mailouts would encourage mums to try it.

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?
Definitely

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?

I used to drink it as a child, but it hadn't really occurred to me to buy it - my DC don't really drink fizzy drinks, and DH and I tend to buy cheapers ones (coke, etc) but we have been looking for alternatives to wine recently and had actually settled on apple juice and fizzy water.

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?

Nicely presented (vs. a big plastic bottle on the table for "nice" dinner). Flavours just right and no added sugar so not too sweet (I can't stand J2O, for example, because it is so sweet).

Pomegranate flavour was probably my favourite although it was "touch of" pomegranate with mostly apple.

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?

I haven't checked out the price in the supermarket yet, but I am guessing it will be too expensive for "everyday" consumption. In spite of my earlier comments about nice bottles, it would be a pain to have yet more glass bottles to recycle so maybe a nice shaped plastic bottle (like Badoit?) would be better.

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?

A weekend lunch party or special supper as a non-alcoholic option. I also think DS might opt for it in a pub (as might I, actually, if I were driving).

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?

I would have thought most of them would go with most foods. I think the 'plain' apple and pear are probably best - the others are more breakfast flavours, or in the case of the pomegranate, perhaps to be drunk on it's own

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?

DS (7) liked it but said it was too fizzy. DD (3) spat it out in spite of asking for it (because it was pretty and pink) - to give context to that - DS only really drinks water (including, occasionally, fizzy water) and occasionally orange juice (he hates squash) - DD likes squash but not fizzy anything.

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?

We have tried a locally produced equivalent and I would say they are much the same. There are no other directly comparable brands we have tried, although for a cheap/bulk option we do mix cheap apple juice and fizzy water. Appletise is nicer, but too expensive for large parties.

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?

Plastic bottle?
Maybe promote/position it with juices rather than with fizzy drinks?

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?

Targetted web advertising

At the risk of upsetting those who got leaky bottles and/or plain boxes, can I say that mine was the most beautifully packaged giveaway imaginable - whoever was in charge of the packing, they have it spot on - that is the image which will sell - I was immediately predisposed to like the product, and DD was equally enchanted.

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?

Yes, and I also think I would take a bottle of it to a party if I am driving.

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?
It seems quite expensive for what it is and I wasn't sure I liked it. It seemed a bit silly to spend quite a bit of money incase I didn't like it.

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?
The bottle looks quite posh and all the flavours are recognisable as part of the same range. I liked peartiser best.

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?
I think it's quite pricey for what it is really a bit of a bigger bottle would be better especially if marketing it towards families. I wasnt too keen on the mango and mandarin flavour.

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?
I would drink one as a special occasion e.g a party or celebration if I didn't feel like drinking alcohol.

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?
The drinks remind me of summer so I think they would all well with BBQs or summery salads.

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?
A few of my friends had a taste of each one. The peartiser went down best with appletiser coming close second. Nobody really liked the mango and mandarin flavour.

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?
The range reminds me of shloer (sp?) but I much prefer the choice of flavours in the appletiser range.

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?
I think the bottles should be a bit bigger as a bottle only gave one small glass each. Some people had problems with bottles leaking so that needs working out.

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?
Promote the fact that it is one of your five a day. Free samples would be good as a lot of people probably haven't tried it especially the different flavours.

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?
I would definately reccomend it to a friend. A lot of mine are already converted to peartiser after they tasted it.

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?

Cost really and thought it was the same as fizzy drinks which we don't allow our children to have.

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?

Very refreshing, crisp and healthy. I liked the Mango one best.

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?

Liked all the flavours, the bottle isn't big enough though for the price.

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?

Barbeques, if I am the driver at a meal/night out. If I ever (God forbid!) got pregnant again

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?

Curries/spicy foods as they are very thirst quenching, anything really

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?

My husband and 6yr old son tried them. They loved them and I will be using the vouchers to buy more.

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?

I suppose it is similar to Schloer, though isn't marketed in the same way.

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?

Promote the healthiness of the product and also as an alternative to alcohol.

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?

Promote the health benefits (1 of 5 a day) and perhaps bring down cost
Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?

Yes, definitely

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?

I haven't had any in a very long time (I think it used to be called Appletize at the time?) No particular reason why I've not bought it - though tend not to buy too many carbonated drinks anyway.

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?

I was surprised that they only contained the fruit juice and no additives/sweetners and this can only be a good thing. The shape of the bottle was attractive and each flavour was particularly tasty. As I haven't purchased any as yet, can't comment on the price, but the discount vouchers will mean I'll be buying some soon! I liked the Mango, Mandarin and Apple one best I think but it was a close run thing as they were all lovely. Like the glass bottle as it is easily recyclable.

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?

I was looking forward to trying the Pomegranate and Raspberry flavour as I'm partial to the old raspberry but it wasn't as nice as I'd hoped. Larger bottles would be good as they don't last very long.

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?

It is suitable for drinking at any time though I suppose it is particularly suited to summer drinking. I'd serve it at family mealtimes.

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?

The flavours are subtle enough to drink with any foods.

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?

My daughter loved them - but what 3 year old doesn't like fizzy drinks. DH also had some and enjoyed them.

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?

They are similar to the Schloer range of drinks but I'm not sure whether they have any added sugar/sweetners in them. I don't have a particular favourite brand.

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?

The product is great as it is. Larger bottles (or maybe smaller ones for an individual drink) would be good for families. More needs to be made of the fact that there is nothing apart from the juice in them - I don't like buying overly processed or sweetened drinks for my family but I'd happily let my daughter drink this (within reason obviously).

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?

See above - emphasising the lack of added ingredients.

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?

Yes.

Thanks for letting me taste the range!

Marking my place: I got my box (lovely presentation, BTW, and extra boxes are always useful at the moment because we're in the throes of moving!) with four decent-sized bottles (ie. the size you get in the supermarket - did someone say earlier she only got one-glass bottles?). Have only drunk the Mandarin/Mango one yet, the rest are coming on holiday with us! Will report back once they're all gone.

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?

  • Just never considered it, when I think of soft drinks I think of orange juice or lemonade.

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?
It looks like a grown up drink, but is non-alcoholic!! My favourite was the Mango, Mandarin and Apple.

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?
The glass bottles are not easy to store (we have stuck them in the rack with the wine). I liked all the flavours.

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?
With a meal or at a party - basically any occasion I would've had wine at.

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?
The apple and pear I think would be good with salads. I think the Raspberry could go with heavier foods.

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?
My husband thought they were great!! He wants to use the vouchers now.

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?
I think as a nice, light, smart looking non alcoholic drink this is probably the best I've had. I don't think I have a preference for anything else as such.

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?
Could there be still (i.e. non carbonated) versions?

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?
I would put the emphasis on the healthy aspects - real fruit juice, natural - but for mums to be also the emphasis on it being different, special, up market - a good alternative to wine.

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?
Definitely - especially the pregnant ones!!

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?
Money really. I can't really afford to spend £2.34 on a bottle that only lasts one meal.

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?
Loved the bottles , really nice. The flavour of the mango one was beautiful. Definatly my favourite.

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?
I think my least favourite is the original apple one- Sorry! It has a really distinct 'earthy' flavour that put me off a bit.

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?
Having people round to dinner, special meal for us as a couple.

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?
I think all of them suit chicken, fish and salad meals. same as white wine really.

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?
Children tried it and loved it.

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?
I usually get Shloer, just out of habit. But next time we have people round I will buy appletiser.

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?
More advertising.

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?
Advertise the 1-a-day more.

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?
Definatly- not the apple one tho! The fruitisers definatly!

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?

I forgot it existed and as I tend to buy apple juice and fizzy water I have been making my own poor persons version.

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?

I liked the apple one the best, I like the style of the bottles and that they are glass rather than plastic.

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?

My least favourite was the pomegranate and raspberry. The cost would put me off as although I like the style of the bottle they don't hold that much.

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?

At the pub when I don't want to drink coke/lemonade and when bringing a bottle to a bbq/party as they seem less 'cheap' than something in a plastic bottle.

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?

Summery outside food, bbq's etc but they are pretty refreshing so I wouldn't say they couldn't go with anything.

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?

My partner and son (22 months), who both liked them (hence they went so quickly!), especially my son as they made him burp and he's never had anything fizzy before.

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?

They tasted nicer than bog standard supermarket fizzy non alcoholic drinks because they weren't so sugary and fake tasting but they were more expensive.

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?

Make it cheaper, and make smaller bottles so that you can take them out and about with you. (I'm assuming you don't do this but apologies if you already do!)

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?

Emphasise that it isn't full of sugar, I have a tendancy to assume that fizzy = bad unless told otherwise.

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?

Yes, I have been already...(whilst boasting about my freebies and the posh box that they came in!)

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?
I tend to buy pure juice or nice squash and mix it with sparkling or still water or the children just drink water.

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?
I loved the fat bottomed bottle, was very pleasing on the eye, I also really like that it is such natural ingredients. I try to not give sweeteners to the children (hence the 'nice' squash comment above) and this was a great way for them to have a fizzy drink as a treat without compromising on nasty additives.
The taste, pomegranite and raspberry was my favourite, but it was close with original appletiser. The fizz was just right for the children as well, my youngest doesn't like fizzy drinks normally, they make her sneeze but she drank all of these happily

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?
The cost is very prohibitive for the size of the bottle, we all managed one glass each out of one bottle which wasn't enough. I did not like the Mango and Mandarin flavour, it had a really sour/bitter aftertaste.

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?
Special occasions, parties, barbeques, birthdays etc.

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?
All foods, we had them with pasta, roast chicken and cheese on toast. The raspberry was very sweet and we had it as a 'pudding' drink with icecream.
Peartiser was a bit of a stronger flavour and went well with very spicy pasta.

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?
The children and my husband tried it, he loves the original appletiser and refused to be swayed. The girls said the pomegranite and raspberry was their favourite, they liked the appletiser second and then peartiser. Only my four year old liked the Mango and Mandarin, but she still didn't finish ehr glass.

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?
I have bought Schloer in teh past when it is on promotion but I don't buy sparkling fruit juices like this veyr often, I add sparkling water to pure fruit juice and make my own, mainly for cost reasons.

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?
The option of bigger bottles would be nice as they don't last long!
Also more advertising that it is one of a 5 a day because I wouldn't have even thought of that.

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?
I woudl advertise in pregnancy or parenting magazines.
I would emphasise the natural ingredients and no nasty additives. I would try and package it in a lunchbox friendly way (ie, no glass) so it could be a treat when out as well, it is much better than fruit shoots etc which dominate this market and are yuck.

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?
Absolutely, I have shared out some vouchers already (just some though)

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?

because i've got into the routine of buying sholer, its much easier to find, always seems to have new flavors or offers ie buy one get one free, sits in a better position on most supermarket shelves and is 46p cheaper per bottle.

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?

the ingredients, there are no hidden nasties i wouldn't want children to drink. my favorite is the apple flavor, it takes me back to my childhood when my mum would order it for us when we went out for dinner!

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?

the cost, its almost 50p more expensive than sholer, and 50p per bottle does add up when your buying 6 bottles. were t-total so sholer or appletiser is like wine for us! also the size of the bottles, a slightly larger bottle would be better for families as the 750ml bottle doesn't really go very far.
i wasn't keen on the mandarin one as it had a apple after taste (like you had swallowed apple pips.)

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?

like i said being t-total, any occasion where you would normally drink alcohol, is when i would buy a 'posher' soft drink. so christmas, weddings, parties, bbq's, romantic meals etc

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?

not sure, i found the drinks quite heavy and filling so wouldn't really want to put it with a meal, but would enjoy with nibbles.

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?

my husband tried it, he also said that the flavors were quite heavy and he would struggle to enjoy it with a meal. he would enjoy it as an alternative to lemonade or j20 in a bar

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?

i personally prefer sholer, there is a greater range of flavors, the drinks arent quite so heavy and filling, although there are considerably more ingredients in sholer. also the sholer is on offer a lot and can often get a bottle half price or bogof, where as the appletiser range are hardly ever if never on offer.

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?

i think a greater range of flavors would be good, and have them more readily available at bars. when we go out we have the option of orange juice, a range of j20 flavors, lemonade/coke/fanta etc or the apple appletiser. i knew there was a pear flavor (through watching friends!) but not any other flavors and certainly i've struggled this week to find the pear or others at the supermarkets close to where i live! so just to have them readily available full stop would be good! in fact i just did a search on tesco.com and cant find any other appletiser products.

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?

i have to say offers, when you walk in to a supermarket all the products that are on offer jump out at you, and are often at the end of the isles. it would be good to see appletiser on offer once in a while. but also in our local morrisons, and tesco (i cant speak for other supermarkets as these are ones i visit regularly) appletiser is on the bottom shelf usually pushed to the back, so at the moment, with a bump, unless i'm with my husband i actually cant buy it if i wanted to!

also play on the fact that its one of your 5 a day, i didnt realise. i didnt believe it, and it wasn't until i looked at the ingredients that i realised that actually there aren't any nasties in it so it would be good for children to drink.

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?

yes, apart from the price, and shelf positioning, appletiser is a really nice product and the flavors that you do have are really nice.

We all loved the box it came in...
DH was surprised that it was just fruit juice and water, he always assumed it was a sugary fruit juice drink.

We both agreed they were a lot nicer that schloer or equivalent

DD said it was too fizzy, but enjoyed it when the fizz had gone off a bit.

The pomegranate one was too sweet.

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?

My children are three and one and so far have been content with either milk or water. My husband is happy with coffe, and myself, with gin.
We are, however, keen to explore soft drink options that are low in sugar.

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?

All four flavours had a clean crisp taste. The mango was the most subtle flavour.
They did not leave a sticky taste in the mouth like so many soft drinks.
They each had a very pleasant aroma.
I preferred the pomegranate, my husband the apple, and my older daughter the pear. Mango was the least favourite for all of us.

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?

The bottles are glass which is an issue when you have a 3 year old who insists on helping with the shopping. And who also gets a chair and helps herself to drinks from the fridge. Having said that, I am not keen on drinks in plastic bottles and the appletiser bottles are quite attractive.
The sugar content is fairly high but I appreciate that this is the case with fruit drinks and the sugars are natural.

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?

With lunch. On warm evenings.

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?

We plan to have some for guests at our barbecue this weekend.

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?

Not yet, but they will (see above).

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?

We buy tropicana. I prefer that Tropicana is not made from concentrate. Appletiser has a lighter taste that I like.

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?

The bottles didn't last very long. I'm not sure I would like a larger bottle though as they fitted nicely into the fridge. perhaps a reasonably priced multipack.

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?

Emphasise the "natural". Market as an alternative to alcohol for pregnant mums. I would definitely have drunk plenty during my pregnancies had I been aware.
Taster promo's in supermarkets at times when mothers are typically doing the supermarket shop.
Reduce the price.

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?

Absolutely. I was far more impressed than I expected to be.

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?
Mainly because of the cost (only tend to drink water and normal fruit juices anyway, but it's quite expensive compared to a carton of fruit juice)

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?
Not sweet like most fizzy drinks. Prefer the pear flavour.

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?
Cost is high. Mango/mandarin flavour was nice but didn't taste very mango like to me.

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?
Maybe in a bar or pub since I don't drink much alcohol, or to take to a party.

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?
Unlikely to buy it to go with a meal more as a treat to go with nibbles or something

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think? No

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?
I can't think of any similar drinks that don't have added sugar or sweetener so that puts Appletiser top of the list!

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?
Really needs to emphasise the no added sugar or sweeteners part of it, as this makes a massive difference as to which drinks I buy.

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?
As per Q8, the no added sugar or sweetener bit is a major plus - how about smaller versions of the drinks aimed specifically at the lunchbox type market (i.e. along with cartons of juice). Also it is nice when pregnant to be able to choose a drink that itsn't overly sweet.

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?
Yes

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons? Had never tried it before, probably as the price put me off somewhat (sound like a tightwad)!!

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?
OOO had to be Pear for me, was delicious! Nice to see a 'fizzy drink' with no artificial colours and sweetners!

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?
I liked all four, but my least favourite was the pomegranate, Saw plenty of posts regrading damaged bottles so I would say the screw caps need looking at!

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range? Now I have had the pleasure of taste testing the product I would definately buy on a regular basis, weekend treats.

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with? Roast Pork on a Sunday. Don't drink alcohol so that could be my alternative!

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?
The kids loved it as did the OH, 1 bottle was just enough for our family of 4!

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?
I don't tend to buy fizzy drinks, but I will start now! Already on my list for shopping!!

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?
Lovely bottle shape, (obviously need the screw cap looking at) More tv advertising, with some cute kids enjoying a picnic with appletiser! Would love to see the whole range in a bigger volume as one bottle only just goes round our table the once.... and once is never enough!!

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?
Exactly what you have done with the taste testing, Promoting it as a healthy alternative to wine, cider and spirits.
Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?
Oh absoblumminlutely, have given away 3 of the vouchers but kept 2 for myself, I am going to enjoy a bbq this weekend with 2 ice cold bottles of Appletiser!! Thank you very much for a wonderful testing!

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?

I used to have appletiser when i was younger but felt that I have not seen in it the shops so much recently. I think it was overtaken by scloer as the more adult soft drink.

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?
I love the taste of the apple flavour it really does feel like having a nice crisp cider but without the nasty hangover effects. The bottle is nice as having a glass bottle makes it feel more adult than having a plastic one. . My favourite flavour was the apple although the close second was the pomegranate.

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?

The lid on the bottle could be more secure The cost sometimes i feel can be a little expensive and can rule it out of normal drinking practise and more into the 'treat' bracket. The mango was a bit too sweet for my liking.

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?
Summers evenings with a bbq, and possibly nice sunday lunches.

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?
Crisp salads - pomegranate flavours
Apple- Pork
mango- oriental salads or hot foods.
Peartiser- nice with most foods.

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?
DH thought the pear was a little sweet but the apple was nice and sharp.

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why? It is very similar to schloer but i am not sure if schloer is pure fruit? I prefer the appletiser range.

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing? Possibly think about more seasonal flavours as appletiser feels like a very summery drink. The price could be a little lower to bring it in line with other soft drinks and make people buy it more regularly rather than a treat. There could be a plastic bottle (smaller bottle version) for people to drink on the go?

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?

Approach somewhere like boots to see if you could sell amongst mum to be stuff. (so it could be seen as an alternative to cola stuff and alcohol)

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends

Yes difinately I have a few pregnant friends at the mo and have already recommended!
