Many thanks for taking part in the Appletiser product test - please find below the questions that Appletiser would like you to answer. Please add your feedback once you've been able to try the drinks.

There are a number of questions as Appletiser are so keen to know what you think - please feel free to use these either as a prompt - telling us your overall views using these as a guide, or to answer each question individually.

If you have any other comments please add them below - they genuinely would like to know how they could improve on both the product and how it is promoted to both women such as yourself and to families.

Everyone who adds feedback to this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky winner will win a £250 voucher for the store of their choice.

Thanks and good luck

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?

It's a bit expensive for fizzy juice, I'd rather buy a good organic fruit juice and add it to fizzy water

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)?

It was carbonated fruit juice instead of artificial flavours.
I loved how it arrived but, all the bottles except the appletiser leaked in transit and that would put me off buying it.

Which was your favourite flavour?

Mango or pear

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)?

I found the apple one very acidic and couldn't drink it.

Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?

Apple and pomegranate

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?

Instead of J2O whilst out - maybe. BIL mainlines Red Bull and he said he'd love the appletiser instead - which SIL would be very happy with!

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?

They'd probably all go well at a BBQ or anywhere else you'd normally have fruit juice

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?

Yes, we had a BBQ and everyone tried something.
The men loved the apple and pomegranate and the women liked the mango and pear

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?

We don't really buy carbonated fruit juice, we do buy fruit juice and this is all right as an alternative.

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?

You've got to make it cheaper - it's only carbonated fruit juice and it's over £2 per bottle at those prices you aren't going to move units in huge quantities.
The screw tops need looking at as they leaked.

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?

Pop a voucher in a Bounty bag and advertise in parenting magazines. When a baby comes money is tight so make it cheaper for them.

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?

For those times when you want to look like you're drinking but aren't then this is perfect and yes, I'd recommend it to my friends for that.

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?
Haven't seen it around much to be honest!

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour? I loved the Pomegranite and Raspberry one. Pear was good too.

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on? Wasn't so keen on apple or mandarin. Both a little bit sickly (but I am PG at the moment and off a lot of things I normally like!)

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?
At a restaurant or bar, as I can't drink whilst pg.

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?
I'm enjoying them with salads at the moment, but that might just be a summer thing!

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think? DH loved the two I didn't like. Didn't give DS any, he only drinks water and milk atm.

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?
It's pretty good. We tend to be water drinkers in this house, but we did enjoy the appletiser. If we were going to buy soda, we would definitely buy this over the obvious 'teenage' drinks (coke, Dr Pepper etc...)

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?
Just need to see it in more restaurants/bars. I'd buy it if it was available.

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?
not sure.

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?
yes. It's much nicer than schloer that everyone seems to try and serve me when they are all having wine!!

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?
Usually drink milk/water or tea. Didn't realise that it was just fruit juice, assumued it was a cherryade type drink.

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?
Favourite flavour was mango, mandarin and apple, but we all like all the flavours. My favourite thing about it is it's just fruit juice and water and did not contain any preservatives, coulourants etc, and also that it counts towards one of your five a day. Also liked that it was fizzy.

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?
We all liked all the flavours, it would be nice if the bottles were a bit bigger, worst thing is the price.

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?
Social occasions as an alternative soft drink, also barbeques etc. The children would like to drink it all the time!

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?
Salads, pasta etc.

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?
My husband, children and their friends all liked all the flavours.

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?
Previously I would have bought Shloer as a soft drink, but Appletiser is nicer.

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?
Make bottle larger, reduce cost, raise awareness that the product still exists!

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?
I would emphasise ingredients, no preservatives etc and offer money off vouchers or free samples in supermarkets.

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?
Yes I would, all of my family enjoyed drinking it.

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?

We used to have it only as a treat when I was a kid so it didn't transfer to my adult life when I was skintv as it still seemed too expensive/treat-like.

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?

The bottles are a bit posh and lovely and they didn't drip when laid down in the fridge after being opened. The apple flavour is still the orginal and best and made from 100% fruit juice (although from concentrate) is a bonus.

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?

You only get about 4/5 glasses from the bottle so there's never any left over, once everyone has had a glass, for the next day. That seems a bit extravagant in my book.
The peartiser is just vile, far too bitter and a horrid aftertaste. No-one liked it here, sorry.

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?

Maybe with Sunday lunch or birthdays. It seems more like a posh drink for the children when the adults are having booze

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?

Anything really

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?

Everyone had a go at all the flavours. The children were just thrilled to be having fizz but liked all the flavours except the Pear.2

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?

The only other I can think of is Shloer, but they no longer seem to make the apple flavour. I think the appletiser flavours are better.

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?

ditch the Pear flavour! All else looks/tastes nice.

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?

Focus on the 100% fruit juice content as I had absolutely no idea. Special offers always work.

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?

Yes, would recommend as they are delicious!

Q1 Its price mainly, we tend to buy things like this when on special offer. If I was out, I would usually have alcohol instead.

Q2 Bottles were lovely, better for recycling too. I really liked the taste, more interesting than lemonade and a good alternative to alcohol.

Q3 Nothing really. Liked the flavours and presentation. Price is a bit more than I would usually pay, but fine while its being bought as a wine alternative.

Q4 Nice meal, BBQs, anywhere where I'd usually take alcohol.

Q5 The fruitisers with lighter summery meals, the others anytime. Would try the appletiser with a bit of ginger or similar in winter with heavier meals.

Q6 DH shared all the bottles and really liked them. We took the mango one to a BBQ and opinion was a bit more mixed with some people thinking it a bit too sweet.

Q7 We'd usually buy Schloer, mainly because it's quite often on buy one get one free or similar. I prefer Appletiser since Schloer can taste a bit too much like poor wine.

Q8 Haven't really seen any marketing to be honest. It's rarely on eye level shelves, no offers etc. I think the product itself is already excellent.

Q9 More advertising. Push the fact that it's just sparkling fruit juice. General awareness raising with sampling, vouchers, targetted ads etc.

Q10 Absolutely.

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?

We used to have it on special occasions as a child (eg Christmas etc) but as an adult I tend to drink alcohol at such times now!

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?

Can take bottles, along with wine, to friend's and not feel that you have brought something cheap! Enjoyed the pomegranate.

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?

You don't get very much from a bottle. Works out fairly expensive for just a few glasses of drink. Apple flavour felt a bit too fizzy!!

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?

BBQ or picnic.

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?

Anything really, especially summer foods (eg bbq etc)

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?

Husband enjoyed all flavours.

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?

Only brand I could compare with is Shloer, but don't think they have as wide a range as Appletiser.

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?

The bottles look great, but perhaps plastic would make the product less expensive and be more eco-friendly?!

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?

Adverts in Bounty packs maybe? Didn't know that it counts towards 'five a day' - perhaps promote this aspect more/

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?

Yes!

Q1 Tend to buy cans for convenience for adults in the family and non-fizzy pure juice for the kids, always thought Appletiser was a kids drink though
Q2 Loved the shape and colour of the bottles, the children favoured the apple and pear whilst I preferred the pomegranate. I liked that there was a choice of flavours, personal favourite was pomegranate, ingredients seemed simple/natural and lacking in artificial sweetener which is great.
Q3 Least favourite flavour was the mango based one because of an aftertaste, would have preferred that the ingredients weren't from concentrate and that it was less carbonated and slightly larger bottle - 1 bottle was only just enough for our family of 4 to have a small glass each.
Q4 With evening meal for children and adults, on a night out when drinking and not able to drink alcohol
Q5 Pear or apple flavours would be great with anything for the children, most suited to pork based dishes or lighter salad type meals and snacks. Pomegranate was a good mixer for spirits or bubbly too.
Q6 We all tried it - 2 adults and 2 children plus a non-drinking friend who said that the pomegranate flavour was really nice and made a nice change. Children loved the apple one and wanted it instead of their usual water or milk during the day!
Q7 Normally but Bottle Green or Schloer and it compared favourably to both, certainly preferred it to Schloer.
Q8 Certainly need to make more of the fact that it is natural ingredients with no artificial sweetener - that is a real rarity and a preference of many parents that I know, though very difficult to find. Larger and smaller bottle sizes would be great too.
Q9 Market this as a drink suitable for both grown-ups and children as it's so versatile, as a great alternative to alcoholic drinks and perfect for any occasion. You certainly need to make more of the ingredients (or lack of) on the packaging and keep the same shape and design of bottle - it's classy and simple. I'd also work on changing/updating the 'image' of the name Appletiser (maybe stick with Fruitiser and lose Appletiser altogether)as it does invoke strong memories linked to a kids fizzy drink from years ago - I remember drinking it as a child in the 80's!
Q10 Yes, and have already done so.

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?

I've never tried it before and hadn't because I thought of it as quite outdated and old fashioned.

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?

I liked that they were natural with no rubbish in them. The bottles are nice too. I preferred the pear flavour as did my middle son, my daughter preferred the apple flavour as did my partner, my youngest son didn't like them as they were fizzy!

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?

I wasn't that keen on the pomegranate flavour. The cost is fairly high for a soft drink especially with the bottles being so small. One bottle doesn't go far at all with a small glass for each of us.

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?

I would love to enjoy these drinks on a regular basis but the size and price would mean that it was an occasional buy rather than all the time.

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?

Personally I think they'd go with just about anything.

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?

My children and partner also tried the drinks and enjoyed them on the whole.

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?

I've bought Schloer in the past as it seemed a better drink but I didn't like the tastes very much. I prefer the appletiser range.

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?

I think they need a brand overhaul as I perceive it to be old fashioned and out dated. Marketing needs to be more sophisticated but the prices need to be less if I were to buy it on a regular basis. The bottles could do with being larger too.

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?

Better and more adverts, but not silly jokey ones, I'd prefer to see the facts and what's in it plus that it tastes nice.

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?

Yes

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?

have had it before, but not for a ong time. just forgotten about the brand, and not bought it.

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?

liked all the flavours, really pleased they are just juice - so a healthy and tasty non alcoholic 'treat' drink. can't decide which I liked the best, apple, pear and raspberry all delicious, slightly less keen on the other one but would happily drink (but not buy) it.

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?
didn't like the mango so much. I think the cost is a bit high, - about 40p more per bottle than schloer on moneysupermarket.com best prices for individual bottles, but Schloer on special offer at 2 bottles for £3, the appletiser range on offer 2 bottles for £4.

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range? Either in pub when driving, or at a celebration lunch or dinner when driving/choosing not to drink alcohol. not an everyday drink

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?

any at a BBQ, apple or pear specifically with pork. raspberry more puddingy

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?

yes, husband and children tried them all. all very enthusiastic about all of them.

apple liked least by husband, he liked the mango one best

kids both liked the rasperry one the best

everyone would be happy to drink them all again

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?

prefer the taste of appletiser range to schloer, and will be suggesting to my schloer drinking parents to buy appletiser range instead. would prefer the cost a bit lower though!

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?

maybe a bigger botle for larger gatherings - say a 2l plastic bottle - looks less classy but would go further

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?

tasty non-alcoholic drink for mums to be. good treat drink for children as has no artificial additives and is one of 5 a day - I didn't realise this before this taste test.

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?

definitely!

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?
I tend to buy it as a treat and often miss out this section in the supermarket. I also buy it when it?s available in restaurants and I am driving but I find it isn?t readily available.

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour? The glass bottle makes it feel like a bit of a treat and alternative to wine whilst pregnant/breastfeeding or whilst designated driver on a night out. It is extremely refreshing and very moreish (a bit of a problem as you don?t get that many glasses out of a bottle!). Apple is my favourite flavour, closely followed by the pomegranite and raspberry. The mango, mandarin and apple variety was nice but took a bit of getting used to. Not so keen on the pear.

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?
I find it overpriced for how much you get, it would be more desirable if the price was dropped slightly or the bottles were larger. Sainsburys ?Taste the difference? range has similar style drinks for approx £1.50; these come in a choice of lovely flavours, in a wine style bottle and also have the ?treat? factor.
The shape of the bottle means it doesn?t stack well in the fridge and nearly fell out a few times!
The pear was my least favourite, I found it too sweet, it was not unpleasant but I would not chose to buy it in the future.

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?
In the evening as a wine substitute whilst pregnant or on nights out when I am driving.
With Sunday lunch or occasionaly during the week as a treat.

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with? I would consider it as a great option to accompany most foods, during the summer it would be lovely served ice cold with salads. I would also have it with roasts or takeaways as a treat.

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?
Friends like the pomegranate and raspberry flavour and my children liked the apple. No one was overly keen on the pear.

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?
I have bought Schloer occasionally, mainly when on offer but I definitely prefer the taste of Appletiser.

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?
Offer a choice of bottle sizes or reduce the price slightly so it competes with other available brands. I like the colour of the bottle and simple design of the Appletiser brand but think a change in the shape of the bottle would be more practical.

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?
Definitely offer a sample bottle and money off coupon in the bounty packs with a leaflet similar to the one that came with the samples detailing its benefits.
I have noticed multi pack cans of Appletiser, but only small glass bottles available individually. It would be good to have the choice of individual cans as they would be more practical (and possibly cheaper?) on the go. I have purchased the small bottles from the chiller cabinet in Boots before but they are pretty expensive (£1.20?) when compared to the other drinks on offer in the chiller cabinet.

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?
Yes, most definately.

Thank you for letting me try it, the package arrived the day before my birthday, such a treat!

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?

I used to really like it, but never bought it for years. Not sure why really!

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?

The best thing is the taste. My favourite was the mandarin, mango one.

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?

The packaging is not great. I ordered one from Ocado and it leaked all over the shopping even though it was sealed. This has obviously been an issue for others too. Cost is an issue too. I was least keen on the pear flavour.

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?

I have been using it when guests come round for those that don't drink alcohol.

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?

Anything really. I am not sure the flavours specifically go with certain foods.

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?

The kids love it, but I rarely allow them juice or anything except water. Husband tried it and liked it. Friends all liked it.

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?

I like the new appeltiser best of all the fizzy similar drinks I have tried.

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?

Better seals!!

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?

You need to make it a bit cheaper to be something mums buy regularly. Otherwise, it is a "special occasion" drink,

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?

I haven't really seen it around much in shops. Have seen it stocked in a few pubs but have never noticed it in supermarkets. Dont reaally see any advertising for it either.

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?
I really liked the whole look of the product. The glass bottles are kinda old fashioned and give it a wholesome look and I think are a definate plus for the range.
I was quite supprised that there was no added sugar or preservative. Again a definate plus.
My faavoutate flavour was the mandarin one.... I LOVED it! It was a really refreshing drink. Infact I was very disapointed when it ws finished. really liked that apple too. I enjoyed the pear but there was something a little odd that I couldnt put my finger on. It was very sweet too. Reminded me of those sweets "pear drops" I liked it but like i say there was something about it that I couldnt put my finger on.

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?
Didn't really like the rasberrry one.... this might sound silly but it tasted like fruit tea to me.... I dont like fruit tea.

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?
At the pub, with a meal, family bbq.

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?
Well I think theywould all work well at a bbq, they are quite subtle to would be an enjoyable accompneyment to food. The manderin one made a lovely cocktail!!! Yum yum! will certainly be using it again!

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?
My mum and dcs all enjoyed it. The pear one was very popular with the kids.

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?
I usually drink coke and tango. I thought that the flavours you provided were much nice than any in the tango range hwoever price is a real issue as the size of the bottle is a lot smaller and the cost more. I think the quality of the appletiser drinks was much nicer than that of tango and fanta but I think it would be bought as a treat rather than a weekly thing. You are ofcourse welcome to send me more samples

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?
I really liked the packaging. Thought it was simple, honest and sophisticated. Although I think your missing a trick by not pushing the fact that it is made from pure juice. I also think it is a product very much aimed at adults. Not sure if this was your intention. I have never seen any advertising for appletiser.... this could be improved to raise awareness of the new range of flavours. I also think the price is really important.

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?

An advertising campaign in parenting mags-pushing the positive aspects of the new range and its sopisticated look, free samples in the supermarket, push the non-alcohol aspect.... treat for mum when the kids are in bed (although in my case it was me sneaking to the fridge to have another swig whilst they waited for me to get them something from the kitchen!)

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?

Yes! I loved it. I think friends and family will too. Am going to get some with me next shop! Thanks for the free samples. I really enjoyed it and it was so beautifully presented too! made me feel really special

p.s sorry about the terrible spelling.... dsylexic person with a keyboard missing half the letters (never let a todler near your laptop) results in lots of nonsense being typed

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?

I only really drink water or diluting juice so dont think to buy it.

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?

It was really refreshing, the bottles look good, i didnt realise that there is nothing added to the ingrediants its all natural, i think it is quite expensive but i would buy it for special occasions as i dont drink alcohol, my favoutite flavour was pear.

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?

The only thing that i can find fault with is the mango, apple and mandarin, although it tasted nice i couldnt taste any of the individual flavours.

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?

When others are having alcohol as i dont like drinking alcohol.

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?

Im not sure, i drank it with every meal i had (except breakfast) and i enjoyed it with everything.

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?

My daughter tried the pear one and she loved it, my mum tried the pommegrante and she really enjoyed it and she doesnt like fizzy drinks, she said it was the right amount of fizzy-ness and the flavour wasnt to sickly.

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?

Ive never tried any of the other brands of similar drinks.

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?

I dont think there is anything needed to be done to the product or packaging but some more advertising would be good, i never knew 3 of the flavours existed until this trial.

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?

Advertising in mags thats mums buy, special offers.

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?

Yes my mum went and bought a bottle after tasting mine.

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?
I hadn't had Appletiser since I was about 6! Its just not something I would usually buy and it isn't a brand I notice in the shops - having looked for it to buy with my money off voucher it is on a low down shelf that i just don't seem to 'see'.

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?
I liked them all, but the plain Appletiser was by far my favourite, it was crisp, appley, and refreshing. The Mango one didn't particularly taste of mango tbh, it was nice but fairly nondescript. The Raspberry and Pomegranate one was lovely - I had no idea that there were flavours other than apple. The glass bottles are attractive and distinctive.

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?
The Mango one was a bit of a letdown - perfectly tasty but not really mango-ey. Its probably too expensive to become a regular purchase in our thirsty house, but will definitely be a treat drink for DD (7). One thing that does put me off somewhat is that the apples used come from South Africa and I try to buy UK produce wherever possible - if it was made using British apples and that was clear on the packaging I would be more likely to splash out on it more often.

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?
Now I know its out there and 100% juice it will be one of the few soft drinks DD gets as a treat. I'd buy it for birthday parties or special meals, or if we were out and about or buying a picnic.

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?
I'd say they would all be perfect on a picnic (with nice bread and cheese) or at a barbecue. Definitely a summer drink, and I love the idea of using it as a mixer with champagne or fizzy wine!

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?
DD (7) tried them all and liked the Pomegranate and Raspberry, and Apple varieties best. She wasn't keen on the Mango one. DP had half the Peartiser and really liked it, said it was a nice change from apple or orange juice which is what I tend to buy and dilute with fizzy water.

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?
I don't really buy any similar drinks, mainly due to the cost. Occasionally we have sparkling elderflower drinks but usually we buy cordial/juice and dilute it to taste as they are usually too strong/sweet when bought ready-to-drink. We all agreed that Appletiser was better than other drinks we'd tried in that respect as it was not overstrong/sweet.

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?
I think more of a feature should be made of the fact it is 100% juice an that there are several flavours. Also, I think that using UK apples should be considered as the distance food has travelled is a concern for many people, and UK apples are delicious and plentiful.

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?
Again by making more of the fact that it is 100% natural - many mothers I know do not buy soft fizzy drinks as a matter of principle and Appletiser doesn't really stand out as any different or better at the moment. I have found out this week that a free sample bottle comes in some mother-to-be packs which is a really good idea. I know since I have been pregnant in the heat I have been so thirsty and craving cold bubbles and have had to buy cans of drink when out and about - but haven't seen Appletiser cans in shop fridges. So maybe get the cans out there in more shops to get more people to try it - if I'd seen it in a fridge recently I would have chosen it over other soft drinks.

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?
Yes, I would do as a treat for children or as an alcohol alternative with meals.

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?

I'd kind of forgotten that it's pure juice and doesn't have lots of artificial ingredients. We tend to avoid having fizzy drinks in the house due to sugar/additive content

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?

Best thing is that it's pure juice, counts as one of the 5 a day and tastes great. My favourite was the mango.

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?

I wasn't keen on the pear. It's also quite expensive.

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?

Family bbq/celebration type events, something a bit special due to cost, I don't see Appletiser being an 'everyday' product. Mixing it with alcohol is a great idea, we liked the raspberry and cranberry with Pimms.

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?

tbh, I think it's a bit sweet to drink with food in place of wine etc.

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?

Children adored it (all flavours), they'd cheerfully guzzle a bottle in seconds flat.

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?

Very child friendly in comparison to Ame/Schloer. I prefer Ame with food as it's drier but prefer Appletiser as a drink/mixer in it's own right.

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?

I think we need to be 'reminded' the brand exists, also promote the fact that it's pure juice, no additives and works as a mixer.

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?

The health angle, ie pure juice, one of your 5 a day etc

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?

Yes. We're already buying the small bottles when out and about in preference to J20.

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?

Haven't had it for ages. I don't really buy fizzy drinks and suppose I put it in with those.

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?

I'm not sure I realised it was just fizzy apple juice. I think I thought it had more sugar, sweetners, crap etc.

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?

It's quite expensive but the flavours were great.

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?

I will definitely be ordering it in pubs more often, and maybe buying it as non-alcoholic drink for BBQ etc. A bit too expensive for an everyday drink.

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?

Perfect for BBQs etc.

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?

DH loved it. DS1 not too keen but that's only because he doesn't like the bubbles (he's 4). If he does want fizzy drinks, would prefer to buy him this than lemonade, coke etc.

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?

I normally buy Shloer or Bottlegreen as non-alcoholic drinks as they seem more 'special' than other soft drinks. Would consider this instead though.

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?

I think you need to make more of the fact that it's just apple juice and no additives, sugar etc. Also I think the packaging, especially the apple, is a bit gloomy. Something lighter, more associated with English summer etc would make it more appealing.

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?

Emphasise the health issues, free vouchers, more child friendly packaging (like innocent etc). Also perfect to advertise in pregnancy magazines as nice alternative to drinking alcohol.

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?

Definitely

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?

I don't buy it regularly (not always available) but would have it when out or if I wanted a non-alcoholic option for guests

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?

For me the drink really reminds me of childhood so it always brings back lots of happy memories. I was really surprised that there is no sugar added and this really changed my attitude to the drink and would mean I might be more inclined to go for it over something such as coke (I'm finding fizzy drinks are a good way of coping with pregnancy sickness).
Favourite flavour was Apple then Pear, I wasn't really fussed by the Pomegranate and really didn't like the mandarin - it had a funny, non descript taste.

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?

As above, really didn't like Madarin. Didn't like taste or colour. Much prefer the apple and pear as these tasted more authentic.

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?

Trying to avoid caffine due to preganacy so if at cafe, restuarant instead of a coffee or tea or wine. As a treat to have in the house or as non-alcoholic option for guests.

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?

I wouldn't neccesarily limit them to particular foods. They work all year round.

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?

Just me!

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?

The brand feels less commercial and more natural than Coke, Pepsi, etc. I would compare it to Schloer but they have very different flavours so would choose based on which flavour I fancied. Schloer is a more delicate flavour I would say.

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?

Nothing, I like the Pear and Apple just as they are. Maybe thought about the environmental impact of the bottles and weight of having to transport them home. Obviously glass is recyclable but nothing on bottle to encourage this I don't think.

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?

I would definitely capatialize on the no added sugar thing - this was a real revelation and one my baby is a toddler I would consider letting them have this as a treat but won't give them coke or other sugary, carbonated drinks.

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?

Yes definitely, have already done so.

Firstly, a big thanks to Appletiser for sending this to us, my kids were in their element !

Q1 I used to drink Appletise in the pub 20 years ago whenever I was the driver, I've kind of forgotton about it, but I used to really enjoy it. It was funny how I was reminded about the past when I drank sone for the first time again.

Q2 The taste was the best thing about the drink (apart from it being a freeby of course)

We've tried them all now and found them all to be fun nice summery drinks, apart from the mango one but more on that later. I like the glass bottle in terms of recycling and happy to pay a bit more for that.

Q3 The worst one was the mango. It has a bitter sweet after taste. In fact why is it called mango apple and nmandarin when the listed ingredients are apple mango and mandarin. I think you might run into some trouble there ? And what is the other wierd sounding fruit in it I had never jeard of that Aniora ? or something ?

Also I wasnt very keen on the bottle itself, it kind of looked a bit old fashioned maybe.

Thirdly I thing Appletise is a better sounding name. My mum used to call it Appletiser 20 years ago and she never can get the hang of names (eg Ikea is Itch ear ) so I cant bring myself to say Appletiser as it just seems wrong !

4) when driving, picnics or summer BBQs

5) light summer foods.picnics etc

6) myself and 13 year old and 10 year old. They both really enjoyed them with the exception of the mango one.

7)I have bought bottle green recently because I liked the look of the bottle. I think these are similar.

8) As I mentioned not keen on the look of the bottle and I did not like the healthy mum approach. A bit condescending for me.

9) Some good ideas already mentioned.

10) Yes

Thank You !

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?

It fell off my radar and I haven't seen or noticed it in the shops....

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?

The ones I liked (apple, pear and the other non mango one) were quite fresh, not too fizzy, but the kids thought it was a giant treat. Drinkable on a picnic if you don't fancy hitting the (wine) bottle.

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?

Thought the mango one was pretty vile, much too sweet. Even my three year old thought it was too sweet.....! Tasted full of extra sugars and looked full of extra colours, even if it wasn't.....

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?

Picnics I think.

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?

Picnic food (ie, assorted stuff, nothing in particular...)

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?

I brought the whole box on a picnic yesterday with friends and we all tasted it. all agreed the mango was too sweet, the pomegranate was good (will try some w vodka as cocktail next time) and everyone liked the apple and pear.

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?

We don't really drink fizzy drinks much so not much to compare to. Find elderfloewr cordial and fizzy water more refreshing and less overtly sweet (not necessarily better, just differet). Kids love it, I prefer not too much sugar.

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?

Individual portions in tins?

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?

I would dump the mango flavour one. If you had to keep it, I would take it out of the glass bottle as the colour is so off putting.

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?

Well, we all enjoyed it this weekend, so yes, I probably would. I have no idea how much it costs to buy though, that might be an issue...

Thanks for the samples, we all enjoyed them!

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?
I don't notice it in the supermarket, and forgot I liked it enough to bother finding it.

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?
I like the original apple most, although all were pleasant, even the mango which I thought sounded sickly. The most appealing thing about Appletise is the ingredients; no artificial additives etc. It's a treat drink suitable for all of the family.

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?
Not so keen on the pear. Not as flavoursome as the others, although perfectly drinkable. The packaging wasn't great, with a couple of bottles leaking in the box and obviously glass isn't as light or sturdy as plastic to transport. Also the price seems quite high, so it would be an occasional treat rather than a regular purchase.

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?
Barbecues, family meals at home eg Sunday lunch.

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?
I don't think the mango would be any good with traditional British food, but with barbecues or spicier foods it would be refreshing. The others would be fine with most foods, I think.

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?
5 yr old liked it, thought it was very exctiting to be allowed something fizzy. 3 yr old didn't like the fizz at all, so didn't drink more than a sip. Husband thought they were all acceptable soft drinks. Parents thought it was nice, they hadn't tried it before.

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?
I like Shloer, because I enjoy the grape flavours. I would prefer to buy Appletiser because there's no added sugar, but I really enjoy grape juice, so I might alternate. Shloer seems to be on regular promotions in the supermarket too, usually buy one get one free.

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?
The seals need to be improved on the bottles. Some drink leaked from at least two of the bottles I received, and I think the drink may have been slightly flatter from those bottles.

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?
Advertise in parenting magazines. Put a sample and/or money off coupon in the Bounty pack that mothers to be are given. Encourage awareness of all-natural ingredients ie give packaging a less sophisticated and more 'down to earth' image. Package in plastic bottles, perhaps especially for smaller containers that can be bought for children when away from home.

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?
Possibly, but only if they asked if I could recommend a carbonated juice drink. It wasn't good enough to recommend unprompted, especially considering the price.

Q1 If you haven't tried Appletiser before, or for a long time, what are the reasons?

I normally only drink water, juice or wine (when not pregnant!), and DH is a Diet Coke addict. DS is only 2 so too young for fizzy drinks - it's just not something I'd ever have looked for in the shops. The only time I did drink it was when pregnant with DS and out in restaurants.

Q2 What was the best thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which was your favourite flavour?

The bottle design is really nice - glass bottles are always nicer than plastic, although that'll obviously bump the cost up. Taste-wise I loved the Pomegranate and Raspberry, and the original Appletiser. Mango one was OK, and Pear was drinkable but not great.

Q3 What was the worst thing about the Appletiser range (including the taste, the bottle, ingredients, cost etc)? Which flavour(s) weren?t you so keen on?

Mango mixture and Peartiser didn't really float my boat - the Pear one tasted chemically to me which is odd since it doesn't have anything other than fruit in it! The cost would probably prove prohibitive to buying regularly, since you only get 3 decent glasses out of each bottle.

Q4 On what occasions would you typically drink a product from the Appletiser range?

I can see myself buying a bottle to drink alongside a dinner or BBQ where other people were going to be having alcohol (am pregnant at the moment).

Q5 What foods do you think the different Appletiser flavours would be good with?

Anything really - especially light foods like salads, fish, grilled meats. Saying that, I had a glass of the Appletiser alongside a Thai curry and it went very well too!

Q6 Did anyone else in your family, your children, or any of your friends try it? What did they think?

DH really enjoyed the fruity ones, and he quite likes the Peartiser too. I didn't give DS (aged 2) any as I don't want him getting into fizzy drinks yet when he's quite happy with water!

Q7 How does the Appletiser range compare to other similar drinks? Is there a brand you prefer? If so why?

I guess it would appeal to people who buy Schloer etc. I tend to mix tonic water with a bit of orange juice if I want this kind of drink normally!

Q8 What do you think Appletiser the company do to improve the product, packaging or marketing?

Definitely sell the fact that it's 100% natural with no chemical nasties - I was really surprised to find this out. Smaller bottles maybe for taking to work for lunches?

Q9 If you were in charge of selling Appletiser how would you try to encourage more mums, or mums to be, to buy Appletiser?

Flog it on more websites like this one! The new flavours are great on the whole, so once people taste them I think they'd go for it.

Q10 Lastly, do you think you would recommend the Appletiser range to your friends?

Yes definitely - especially pregnant ladies!
