1. How did you use Uniqlo’s AIRism sanitary shorts during the test?

I used them on my lighter days as sole protection. I also used them on the lead up to my period as I'm perimenopausal and never know quite when it's going to arrive. Good if you do a big sneeze too, just in case of sneeze wee... Also used them horse riding as extra padding!

What do you think about how they fit in with your lifestyle? I actually really liked them, very comfy and love the fact I didn't have to keep faffing with pads. I'm just not sure of the material, it felt a bit odd at first but I like it now, but it's sustainability, I try to buy recycled and recyclable if I can, however it's saving me using pads, so... argh!

1. What did you like about Uniqlo’s AIRism sanitary shorts? That they're a good fit and do the job. Easy to wash, just rinse in the shower and bung in a cool wash. Line dry very quick. Didn't show under jodhpurs and breeches. Like the padding way up the back and quite far up the front.

1. What advice would you share with others considering trying Uniqlo’s AIRism sanitary shorts? Give them a go!

1. What are your thoughts about how the sanitary shorts performed? I'm not confident they would cope with my very heavy days even with a super tampon.(I can get through 10 extra pads in day!) But they're great for lighter days and the days leading up to my period as a just in case. I will experiment with them future to see what they will do.

Will you continue to use your Uniqlo sanitary shorts? Yes, definitely! I love them! Didn't think I'd say that!

I used them on Day 2 and Day 4 and 5. Day 2 was particularly heavy so I had to change them mid-afternoon as they were feeling uncomfortable. I was only using them to see how they held up, but wouldn't do that again.

I liked the fit, when I got them out of the packet I honestly thought they were far too small and I was going to be cut in half by them. However, they fitted really well and were very comfortable to wear. I hate the name sanitary shorts though.

They are easy to wear and get on with your day, I wfh though so was prepared for any accidents, for a first time wearer I would want the confidence of backup.

They were much more comfortable than the period pants I have from Primark, they fit and perform better. They wash well and dry quickly. I will definitely continue to use them.

Sole protection on lighter days/ worked well for this as I find towels uncomfortable and don’t like the waste but don’t want to sue a cup every day

Thin and comfortable and didn’t feel plasticky despite being a synthetic fabric. Didn’t show through clothes badly.

Yes they performed well and I will continue to use them.

I used them for the first couple of days for light to heavier flow then washed them and used them again for the last couple of days. They were great for lighter days and as backup

They seemed true to size and were quite stretchy.

1. I used the shorts as back up with a cup on heavier days and alone on lighter ones.

1. I loved how thin the pad was. I usually use cloth sanitary pads which are thicker. I forgot I was wearing the UNIQLO pants, they felt like normal pants.

1. Size up! I chose a small but should have gone with a medium. I will buy more but will buy a bigger size.

1. They performed well. No leaks! It took a while to feel confident with them as they were so thin I assumed they would leak, but they didn't. They did roll down a bit just below my tummy, but this may be due to me choosing too small a size.

I plan to buy more of these, I found them better than my usual option of cloth pads. They are a little expensive for me, but are good quality, so are worth it.

I used them initially at the start of my period - I tend to start quite heavy which eases off. I used over evenings and weekends at home just in case of a leak and used along side tampons as it would be difficult to sort outside. I used as sole protection towards the latter end of my period.

The fit was lovely - aside from being a little tight at the top of my thigh. The material was lovely and soft, the shorts came up quite high on my stomach which felt like shape wear, which was most welcome to beat the monthly bloat I suffer with.

Trust in the product - it didn't leak or let me down even during heavy cycles. Perhaps use along with tampons initially until you feel confident in the product.

I was impressed with the shorts - they were really comfortable and felt secure, are were flattering. I was expecting them to be bulky but they were very thin. I will continue to use these shorts especially at night time.

I received them on day 3 of my period and used them on my lighter days 4&5. I would definitely use them as mooncup backup on my heavier days. I was already using a mooncup and cloth pads so used to reusable sanitary wear. I have a pair of pants from Primark which are also very satisfactory.

Love the pink colour. I liked that the outer gusset wasn’t sewn to the absorbent bit so I could check if I was at risk of leaking.

Double check sizing. I guessed as I didn’t have a measure and guessed correctly. I chose M and I’d usually buy a 10 or a 10/12.

Yes will definitely continue to use them. I’d be interested to see how they perform on my heavier days. Overall I’m very pleased with my free pants!

I used them on day/night 2 which is generally the heaviest. They fit in quite well, I used them a day I was at home as I was a bit anxious of whether they would work! It was fairly convenient. The washing I was a bit unsure about, but actually it was totally fine. I rinsed them properly and chucked them in the wash with absolutely no issues. Was not bothered by it which I had thought I might be!

They were comfy, not massively bulky, couldn't particularly notice them under my clothes (purposely wore leggings to test this out!!) Didn't ever feel particularly "wet" which I was worried about.

Give it a whirl. I thought I'd dislike it to be honest but I'm glad I gave it a go. I imagined it to feel unpleasant but it was actually perfectly fine.

They were very good. No leaks, were sufficient for most of the day (probably could have gone longer but by habit I changed sooner) and night was fine too. I will continue to use them.

I used them as backup during the day and alone at night. They were comfortable at night but not sure I would trust them alone during the day.

Check the size chart - mine were a good fit. They came up very high - proper bellywarmers! I'll probably mainly wear them at night or on the days I'm anticipating period arrival. They can't be tumble dried if that's important to you - it definitely sways me. Their current retail price would be too high for me to buy more.

I will definitely keep using them at night and possibly as daytime backup when I'm working from home.

They were surprisingly comfortable. I liked the double layer so you can add a pad and it doesn't slide around.

My daughter absolutely loved how convenient they were and how easy it was to use during school and for PE etc They performed very well and coped with heavy days easily. They were easy to wash and dry so we have some converts to the sanitary shorts. They are on the pricier side so we will have to buy more gradually but we will be buying more

So far I used them at night time as a back up with tampons. I'm prone to flooding and it meant I could sleep without worry. They were really comfortable. As I only had two pairs I haven't used beyond this but if I had more I would.

I wore them day and night. The shorts were very comfy with no bulkiness or tightness. They felt smooth and comfortable. I wore day and night with no leaks at any time.

The shorts washed well and dried easily. I will definitely continue using and already looking to purchase several more pairs.

Had a very light cycle so used them alone which was great. They fit in with my lifestyle perfectly as I love bigger sized pants and it was just like wearing normal underwear.

I would advise them to measure themselves for sizing which is a bit of a pain. I would prefer sizing like 10, 12, 14 etc.

They were brilliant, no leaks etc but was a light cycle. 100% will carry on using!

I wore them towards the tail end of my period as that's when they arrived. They worked well for that so I imagine that's when I'll use them again.

The absorbent bits tended to bunch around the crotch and bum a bit, but overall they fitted well.

The peformed well for when I tested them towards the end of my period. I'll probably use again for that period or for the early light day.

What do you think about how they fit in with your lifestyle? I used them with my normal sanitary products. This gave me extra peace of mind against any leakages on my heavier days. I also used them on a night out on the run up to my period - just in case!

They fitted well and felt very comfy. No rolling down like some other shorts that shape. I also like the material they were made from.

To give them a go but you would need more than two pairs if using them every day for the length of you period.

I really liked them. I did use them with sanitary pads/tampons though on my heavier days and this helped with leakage. However, I will try them around the house next month on my lighter days to see how I get on as I really would like to use less throw away sanitary products.

I'm late to the world of period pants - didn't even know they existed until recently. First day I wore them with a tampon and sanitary pad (totally defeating the point) but I'm peri menopausal and periods are heavier now. I quickly realised that all this wasn't needed and used tampon and pants then just pants as got lighter. I wasn't sure how these pants would work and was pleasantly surprised. I work in an office - not sure about stripping off tights at lunchtime and changing pants and then keeping old period pants in handbag til home time. I'd use them for wfh but not office. Not sure how flattering pants would be under jeans/trousers as they had the fit (on me) of old style gym shorts.

Nice fabric and they did what they said on the tin - absorbent . It did feel freer not having to have big granny pants and a thick sanitary pad.

You can't tumble dry so be prepared for washing and drying your pants on radiators. Quite expensive and dig in a bit on thighs and waist.

Worked really well for lighter days. I didn't have confidence to use on heavier days. Will use when wfh on day 3 of period.

I used them as a backup to tampons on day 1 of my period (in place of a backup pad) as I was in the office. Overnight and day 2 I used them as my sole method. I have been a tampon user for 35 years so this was very different for me.

1. What did you like about Uniqlo’s AIRism sanitary shorts?

They were really comfy - the material is soft and stretchy, I'm a 10 and tried the medium, and they covered a bloated tummy well. They aren't hugely padded - I was worried it would feel bulky but this wasn't the case. They dried quickly after washing.

1. What advice would you share with others considering trying Uniqlo’s AIRism sanitary shorts?

They are more a full brief than a boxer short. Size up if you are between sizes - I'm a 10 and went for medium and they were a good fit.
Follow the soaking instructions - I chucked the first pair straight into a cool wash and the crotch remained stained.
They don't absorb mucus so if you're prone to clotting on heavier days, maybe use these as a back up rather than your main product.

I won't switch from tampons during the day, but I would use these at night and/or as a back up instead of a pad on my heaviest days. Mainly because of the mucus issue - wiping the pants left them damp and it was unpleasant to continue to wear them but not easy to change unlike a pad.

My teen daughter only uses sanitary pants, we have Modibodi Red shorts. So if these were a proper boxer style, I'd probably buy a couple of pairs for her because they are a slimmer fit for under leggings and the price is comparable.

1. How did you use Uniqlo’s AIRism sanitary shorts during the test? What do you think about how they fit in with your lifestyle?

I used the shorts with my mooncup on my heaviest days, and on their own on my lighter days. I haven’t used sanitary towels or tampons for a decade, instead using a mooncup or reusable cloth sanitary pads. I liked that these are reusable, don’t end up in landfill, and aren’t perfumed or full of chemicals.

I was on the cusp of sizes and ordered up as I wanted to be comfortable. When they first arrived I was horrified at how big they were, three times the size of my normal knickers. However, when I wore them they fit perfectly and felt so comfortable I wasn’t even aware of them.

They are very comfortable to wear and don’t require any “maintenance” during the day.

1. What are your thoughts about how the sanitary shorts performed? Will you continue to use your Uniqlo sanitary shorts?

I thought the shorts preformed very well, and were easy to give a quick wash and dry. I will definitely continue to use them. I like that they have more coverage towards the front as that is where I often leak, and they do not move around like cloth pads. I received two black pairs and would have preferred a nude version for wearing under lighter clothes.

I used them on there own at the start of my period then with a tampon later on. They were easy to wear and didnt have to think about them at all. That was such a lovely thing to be able to do.

They are comfortable to wear. You forget they are period pants. They wash and dry well, they dry quicker than other period pants that I have. My cheap period pants feel like they make a sound as you move. These shorts did not I happily wore them outside the house.

I would say give them a try!

I thought the shorts performed well, but I wouldnt describe them as shorts. More like big pants. I will definitely continue to use the pants and would happily buy more, exactly the same.

I used the shorts alongside tampons and a mooncup - the first few days are extremely heavy and I always need back up! These were perfect for that. They worked well under my gym leggings to yoga in day 2 and felt more discreet in comparison to another brand I Have.
