This is the feedback thread for the Mumsnetters who have been testing products from Surcare’s sensitive range. Testers tried either the laundry liquid or the laundry capsules, as well as Surcare's fabric conditioner and washing up liquid.

This is what Surcare has to say: ‘We are excited for Mumsnetters to try our sensitive laundry detergent as although we have been around for over 30 years and have a really loyal customer base, we want to spread the Surcare secret far and wide! 1.I trialled the surcare laundry liquid. I wasnt very keen on the aroma of the liquid or my washing when it was completed, there was too much of a chemicals smell.
2.The product was easy to disense.
3.I found the fabric conditioner too strongly smelt of chemicals and not floral enough in compparison to my usual product.
4.The washing up liquid failed to provide a consisten lather to wash the pots, disappeared too quickly.
5.We have not noticed an particular improvemnt if the sensitivity of the family's skin from using the product

• I tested the liquid detergent and was really impressed by the cleaning power it was skin friendly and I would happily recommend and definitely will be buying again.

• I liked that it is dermatologically approved, so skin friendly and doesn’t contain unnecessary fragrance and brightly coloured dyes.

• I don’t normally use fabric conditioner as i find it can gunk up in the drawer but used this and can happily report there was no gunking up. Our clothes felt soft and I liked that there was no synthetic smell added to it.

• I liked that it cleaned well and bubbles up nicely and that I didn’t have to use as much as I thought I would.

• Yes, I noticed an improvement on my sons skin. He still had dry skin but it did not get worse whilst using these products. My hands normally get sore when washing up but using the washing up liquid didn’t cause this to happen.

I tested the liquid detergent, my impressions are very good. Almost no scent, clear liquid that did the job with washing.

Again very good. Washing was nice and soft without to much scent to it.

● I've tried Capsule detergent and it exceeded my expectations. My baby's skin didn't react to it, and it was able to remove the stains as well.

● It didn't exacerbate my baby's Eczema. It was so mild and gentle on her skin.

I had the liquid and found it very easy to use and left the clothes looking great.

I tested the liquid detergent and found it quite effective. My family had no bouts of excema during the period of testing.

Good quality conditioner, softens clothing, so in my opinion it is a good product.

Loved the washing up liquid. I do a lot of washing up on a regular basis and suffer from dry hands that are prone to rash. This washing up liquid is so mild that the skin on my hands seemed to improve and the dryness was hardly visible.

Yes, definitely! We suffered no bouts of excema during the period of testing and most thankful were my hands with the use of the washing up liquid.

Capsules. Overall I loved them, so easy to just throw in the machine, no mess, no fuss. I love that there is minimal fragrance. My clothes and linen were left very clean and soft so I’m very happy.

No fragrance which I like and made the laundry very soft. We had no reactions to it skin-wise so this is an amazing discovery.

Love it! Lots of suds and bubbles, cleans beautifully yet gentle on my very sensitive skin. It didn’t cause any dryness or reaction to my skin. Love love love!

Yes, no adverse reactions. Our skin looks and feels great so we’re incredibly happy with this find.

I tested the liquid. I was really surprised, I usually use powder detergent but found a small amount of the liquid did just as good a job. The powder I use is non-bio, sensitive so doesn't always remove the toughest stains (eg my toddler getting covered in baked beans at nursery on a light coloured top!) and the liquid was about the same so no worse and perfectly able to cope with everyday stains and marks.

I liked how gentle it is (my DH has eczema and didn't react) and how easy it is to use.

Very nice - clothes came out soft and smelling clean without an overpowering fragrance. I'm expecting baby no 3 very soon so washed the clothes and bedding using the laundry liquid and softener and they have come out lovely, clean and soft.

This was really nice - worked well without having to use loads and left my hands much less dry.

The washing products were no different as I'm already quite careful what I use, but everyone was fine with no reactions. The washing up liquid was a real improvement and made my hands feel much better.

I tested the capsules. I was suprised how much I liked these as I normally only use liquid. Apart from struggling to get the tub open each time (I appreciate they need to be child safe) I liked them and found our clothes smelt clean and felt nice along with the fabric softener.

I tested the Liquid variety I think the liquid is great its easy to dispense and you only need a small amount to get a good wash it has a really nice clean scent.

I liked the way its not overpowering scented so I know it doesn't contain harsh perfumed ingredients that can irritate our skin and you only need a small amount of it so it last longer too.

Capsules, they were fantastic, scent free but clothes still smell clean and they managed to tackle the many stains my two year old makes without any extra stain remover help.

100% my partners skin suffers badly with any over perfumed or too much additives and his skins benefited so nicely with Surcare, certainly see me switching over.

1.Capsules. Quiet good.

1. It removes the stains and leaves no fragrance, which is what I need for my toddler who suffers from eczema.
2. I'm not a fan of fabric conditioner, but so far, it hasn't made a difference.
3. I'm not satisfied as much with the washing-up liquid, as it doesn't remove grease and strong-smelling odors on the first try.

5.Unfortunately, I haven't noticed any skin improvements on my toddler's skin.

We tested the Capsules and I was very impressed we use reusable nappies to help with sensitive skin and for the most part they did just as well as any other brand in removing any marks etc

It worked well with our reusable nappies and there was a definite improvement in the children’s skin.

To be honest I didn’t like the fabric conditioner, there was nothing wrong in the way it worked but I found the smell from the bottle to be rather unpleasant and it didn’t appear to make enough difference to the clothes to warrant using it with an odour I didn’t like.
4.What are your overall thoughts on Surcare’s sensitive washing up liquid?
The washing up liquid is brilliant, it’s so good that when my 12 year old daughter realised it didn’t make her hands itch or burn she washed up all week and I barely got a look in. I couldn’t comment on how long it lasts as to be honest she was so enthusiastic there was no stopping her and this was the first time she has been able to wash up and enjoy it.
5.Did you notice an improvement to yours or your family member’s sensitive skin after using Surcare sensitive products?
Yes they definitely work as they say they do. I hadn’t ever heard of the Surcare brand before but I will definitely look out for it now and fingers crossed for some good affordable promotions.

I tested the capsules. Overall I thought they did a great job. I have a 2 and a 6 year old, who both like to roll around in mud (well it seems that way ) and the clothes came up clean every time.

2.What did you like most about the detergent you tried?

Cleaned to a fab standard. Didn't cause a reaction in both mine or the kids skin.

I didnt use this too much as I only tend to use it if drying in the tumbler - it did make the clothes lovely and soft, but there didnt seem to be much of a scent to it. This didn't bother me too much, as most can be too overpowering.

Very bubbly - did a great job on cleaning dishes.

I wouldnt say improvement, but there was no adverse effects which can happen with some products, so I would definitely purchase again.

We used capsules, I was actually really impressed with these, I tried them on the ultimate test, pureed carrot from a weaning baby and it handled it brilliantly, I don't think my normal brand would be as effective.

It's effectiveness, really food stain removal. It was also super easy to use.

This was okay, I didn't really detect much smell but did make the clothes soft.

Again, this was just okay. I don't think it was a major improvement on my normal brand and my son's skin doesn't really tend to be affected by washing up liquid so well probably stick to our normal brand.

I used a fairly gentle product before so didn't notice any improvement but it didn't exacerbate my son's skin anymore than my usual brand which is a plus.

1- I tested the liquid. So far I’m very pleased with it - smells nice and works well.
2- Already seeing a reduction in my son’s eczema and myself and daughter have not had any reactions
3 liked subtle smell and made my kids school jumpers and joggers lovely and soft
4 - loved the washing up liquid my hands did not feel dry and tight after washing up. Worked well too.
5- yes my hands were not as dry and both children’s eczema has reduced. We will definitely keep buying suncare to use for the kids

I tested capsules. I like them a lot, easy to use, no smell, they wash really well.

No allergic reaction as both mine and baby's skin is extremely sensitive. No smell.

The same as capsules, no intrusive scent, no skin reactions and the laundry is soft.

It does wash as well as the other leading brands but I'd say you need to use more of it to get the same results. I didn't like the fact that the bottle is not transparent as I couldn't see how much of the liquid is in a bottle. I loved that it's very gentle on skin.
