This is the feedback thread for the Mumsnetters who have been testing products from Surcare’s sensitive range. Testers tried either the laundry liquid or the laundry capsules, as well as Surcare's fabric conditioner and washing up liquid.

This is what Surcare has to say: ‘We are excited for Mumsnetters to try our sensitive laundry detergent as although we have been around for over 30 years and have a really loyal customer base, we want to spread the Surcare secret far and wide! With eczema cases rising more than 40% in just four years*, we knew we had a responsibility to educate people about some of the chemicals and fragrances found in their washing products. This is particularly relevant when you consider that the onset of eczema and other skin conditions often begins in infancy, so protecting delicate baby skin is crucial. We have spent 30 years perfecting our family of cleaning products so that you can do the everyday with less worry. People often think they’re compromising when they use ‘sensitive’ products, however our range has great cleaning power even on cool and quick washes. We really hope you enjoy using it and can’t wait to hear what you think’

Testers, please give your feedback by answering the questions below on this thread, as well as completing the survey we have emailed you

Discovering the Surcare brand, has made a big difference in the quality of our day to day life. For my family and I, using the Surcare range from washing up liquid, laundry liquid and fabric softner, we have immensely seen and feel the improvement on our sensitive skin conditions. Other products always caused intolerable after effects from their use, which included itchiness of the skin and eyes, redness, sneezing, saws, dryness and rashes. Surcare products are especially catered around and for such skin sensitivities and allergies. They are equally safe for all to use no matter what age or skin type. Amongst the many benefits of using Surcare, their amazing cleaning performance goes above and beyond my expectations, as each product delivers on the thorough cleanliness, stain removal, and the fabric softner gives comforting softness that superbly lasts until the next wash. I also love the beautiful packaging design it is very eye appealing. Surcare allows us to get on with life, without suffering from irritable skin conditions caused by substances in everyday household cleaning detergents. The steps to change to products that are kind, reliable, work, innovative, environmental responsible and friendly have been made simple, as the brand to choose is Surcare. They are sustainable products and a little goes far, the washing up liquid foams, creating a rich lather that effortlessly removes the dirt and grime of soiled dishes, pots, pans, cutlery, glassware, utensils and more, leaving them hygienically and pristine clean. My hands are left smooth, soft, hydrated and moisturised. The laundry liquid makes our clothes feel and look fresh and deep cleaned, stubborn stains on laundry are no problem too, I just rub some Surcare laundry liquid onto them before putting them in the washing machine. Complimenting the laundry liquid is the Surcare fabric softner, it leaves our laundry beautifully soft, giving us a comforting feeling of being cuddled and hugged.

1.Which Surcare sensitive laundry detergent did you test (capsules or liquid)? What are your overall thoughts on the detergent?

capsules, I was expecting this to smell of that strange smelling scent that none scented products smell of it, it didn’t! It smelt of nothing, it was very well, my son had absolutely no reaction to this even washing bedding in it, and it’s also managed to remove stains very well. I wasn’t expecting much at all but this worked really well!

2.What did you like most about the detergent you tried?

That it didn’t smell and removed tough stains!

3.What are your overall thoughts on Surcare’s sensitive fabric conditioner?

I felt this softened clothes without leaving any harsh smells and caused no reaction to family’s skin, would recommend this.

4.What are your overall thoughts on Surcare’s sensitive washing up liquid?

I didn’t think this would produce many bubbles, but it did, and it left hands soft not itching or fired out like some, washed up pots as well as other brands I’ve tried.

5.Did you notice an improvement to yours or your family member’s sensitive skin after using Surcare sensitive products?

Yes, washing up liquid stopped dry hands after a few uses as it is milder and gentler than most, the laundry capsules also didn’t cause any adverse reaction to family’s skin and removed stains well. I’m very pleasantly surprised by these products and would recommend them now.

Thankyou surcare for letting me test your fabulous products!

1.Which Surcare sensitive laundry detergent did you test (capsules or liquid)? What are your overall thoughts on the detergent?

Liquid. Was very happy with it and it got baby poo out!

2.What did you like most about the detergent you tried?

You only needed a small amount

3.What are your overall thoughts on Surcare’s sensitive fabric conditioner?

I've never used fabric conditioner actually. Where I'm from we don't have hard water and it never occurred to me to do it when I came to the UK. So I don't have anything to compare it to! That said I used it on towels and they are much, much softer! I will keep it up.

4.What are your overall thoughts on Surcare’s sensitive washing up liquid?
I prefer a stronger scent for dishes, and since I don't have eczema on my hands, didn't feel I need this type of product. I know family members who will really like it.

5.Did you notice an improvement to yours or your family member’s sensitive skin after using Surcare sensitive products?

No but we tend to be more flare up types as opposed to ongoing issues, so I'm pleased to report no flair ups and the baby is looking good.

1.Which Surcare sensitive laundry detergent did you test (capsules or liquid)? What are your overall thoughts on the detergent?
We tested the capsules. I was impressed with them. They cleaned well at low temperature and left clothes fresh and clean but without any smell to them. Didnt leave any residue on clothes either.

2.What did you like most about the detergent you tried?
Box was easier than other brands to work out child lock but still enough to deter children (even though they kept out of reach). Cleaned well

3.What are your overall thoughts on Surcare’s sensitive fabric conditioner?
Didn’t like this much. Had a very chemically smell when bottle opened and used twice and didn’t notice any improvement on softness of clothes after.

4.What are your overall thoughts on Surcare’s sensitive washing up liquid?
Very runny. Did clean dishes but didn’t last as long as other brands and needed to use more

5.Did you notice an improvement to yours or your family member’s sensitive skin after using Surcare sensitive products?
Their skin didn’t get worse so that’s a bonus. Can’t say I noticed an improvement though.

1.Which Surcare sensitive laundry detergent did you test (capsules or liquid)? What are your overall thoughts on the detergent?

2.What did you like most about the detergent you tried?
A very neat way to clean clothes.

3.What are your overall thoughts on Surcare’s sensitive fabric conditioner?
As someone who suffers from sensitive skin and eczema, I sometimes avoid fabric conditioners. I tried this fabric conditioner and my clothes felt really soft and I experienced no adverse reactions.

Surprisingly, I felt that it cleaned my dishes better than my normal brand, which I have used for decades. A definite convert.

Thanks for the opportunity to test these products!

1. Which Surcare sensitive laundry detergent did you test (capsules or liquid)? What are your overall thoughts on the detergent?
I tested the capsules (although I generally prefer a liquid that you dose yourself as sometimes I just put a small wash on and don't need as much). I was really impressed with it! It was unnerving at first for there to be no scent as I associate the soapy detergent smell with washing being clean - but it removed gym sweat smells, food spills and smells, and removed ground-in dirt on socks etc a treat. I wasn't expecting it to perform that well at all, being a non-bio, and I even got over the lack of scent.

2. What did you like most about the detergent you tried?
That it worked incredibly well, with the added knowledge that it wasn't full of harsh irritants.

3. What are your overall thoughts on Surcare’s sensitive fabric conditioner?
Like the detergent, the lack of scent was weird, but again it worked really well at making washing actually soft (and not just sticky, claggy and overly scented like some brands).

4. What are your overall thoughts on Surcare’s sensitive washing up liquid?
I really liked how gentle it was on my hands, as usually they crack a bit after washing up. I didn't find it quite as thick or effective as other brands, and I ended up using quite a lot because of the fact it was clear, quite runny and unscented, so it was easy to overdo it. It also didn't really remove residual odours from things like tupperware containers or coffee flasks, which my usual brand would.

5. Did you notice an improvement to yours or your family member’s sensitive skin after using Surcare sensitive products?
I'd say somewhat. My hands were definitely happier using the washing-up liquid, but I couldn't say for sure if the laundry products made much difference - I think I'd need to use them for a month or so at least to say for certain, as we still have lots of clothes and bedding that were last washed before we started using the samples.

2.What did you like most about the detergent you tried?
No perfume!
3.What are your overall thoughts on Surcare’s sensitive fabric conditioner?
Loved it! My children said how nice their bed linen was after using it.
4.What are your overall thoughts on Surcare’s sensitive washing up liquid?
I really liked it, it was much kinder on my skin. It wasn't amazingly bubbly though.
5.Did you notice an improvement to yours or your family member’s sensitive skin after using Surcare sensitive products?
Yes, my hands are much better so I'll definitely be switching to the washing up liquid.

1.Which Surcare sensitive laundry detergent did you test (capsules or liquid)? What are your overall thoughts on the detergent?

I tried the capsules and I'm very impressed, I don't often but capsules but these were great, everything came out clean and it was suitable for sensitive skin so didn't affect DC eczema. Would definitely purchase again

2.What did you like most about the detergent you tried?

I think what I most liked was that it was kind to sensitive skin, no colours, fragrance etc which may iritate eczema. Was happy to use on a 3mo baby's clothes too so was good for the whole family.

3.What are your overall thoughts on Surcare’s sensitive fabric conditioner?

Unfortunately I hated the fragrance, sniffing from the bottle it reminded me of petrol, but I was pleased that the fragrance didn't linger on clothing at all, so for this reason I was happy using it as it added softness but no smell.

4.What are your overall thoughts on Surcare’s sensitive washing up liquid?

I really rate the washing up liquid, it is gentle on hands but still bubbly and cleans well. DH said it didn't dry his skin out like Fairy.

5.Did you notice an improvement to yours or your family member’s sensitive skin after using Surcare sensitive products?

I'm still trying to see whether there is some improvement in the DCs eczema since using these laundry pods, I can say for certain it hasn't got worse though which someone's happens with new products.
Washing up liquid was kinder to dry hands. Overall I'm am pleased with how these tested and would purchase all except the fabric conditioner again.
