The flavour and the fact tea was served quickly.

Definitely. Really quick tea since it was a slow cooker one, a hearty meal and nice and simple.

They were easy to use and they take up minimal space when kitchen storage is an issue.

We tried chilli con carne and pulled pork. The chilli one was a big hit and we used it as a base for mixed bean tacos for the whole family. The pulled pork one we didn't enjoy too much as it was described as having a "weird taste" (I couldn't try it as vegetarian).

1. Would you recommend the Homepride Slow Cooker range to others? Why?

I would recommend them to people who enjoy convenience and time saving when cooking.

I would love to see more vegetarian based flavours, maybe Morrocan?

I haven't been able to get mine yet, we are quite rural and the closest supermarket is very small. I'll keep trying, the vouchers haven't expired yet.

The curry one was delicious. Dh loved the beef one but I thought it was a little sweet.

I would like to see more Gluten Free ones introduced, as not everyone in our family could enjoy them as they contained wheat.

Different types of curries, sausage casserole, sweet and sour, minted lamb chops would be some of the flavours I would love to see

I haven’t been able to find them in my local store unfortunately so I cannot add my feedback yet.

Found that the beef and ale one dried out in our slow cooker and needed water adding.

The curry one was slightly too mild for my taste but others in the family liked it.

They were really convenient for busy families. You can prepare them before work and have a tasty meal to come back to.

The taste and the convenience to use. My children liked the chicken curry sauce because ‘it wasn’t too spicy’.

Yes if you are looking for an easy meal. However, not much harder to make either meal from scratch from your cupboard.

We have only tried the Beef and Ale sauce (pulled pork was available but not the other 2) .

What did you particularly like about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces?
The taste was soooooooo good!! I’ve already ordered another pouch!

My children refused to taste it - but my husband and I devoured the whole thing. I liked how easy it was, and how I could feel satisfied leaving it to cook all day, knowing I had a delicious meal to return to. And it really did taste amazing.

Yes! It tasted so so good. With the pulled pork one - the supermarket only had double what was required.

Not a lot sorry! They were easy to use but not especially cheap once you add all other ingredients. Found them quite bland, had to add a lot of extra seasoning

No I wouldn’t. They’re expensive at full price and we didn’t think they were great. Contrary to others I found them fairly watery and bland. I ended up adding a million extras to the beef and ale just to make it edible.

They are easy to use, Tasty, Quick to prepare, Cheap meal as you didn't have to add much to them.

Yes, We really enjoyed both and would have them ourselves again so yes I would recommend to others, I would like to try the Chicken Curry.

More Curry flavours, Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka.

They actually flavoured the meal really well. Often in slow cooker the flavour is very bland, but theses were good.

They were tasty and a bit different to the usual recipes we use for chilli and curry.

Yes. They are good value for money and tasty. They are quick to prepare in advance.

We tried Chicken Curry and Beef & Ale. Afraid we're not fans of pulled pork at all so didn't try it.

1. What did you particularly like about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces?

Quick and easy to use, ideal to throw in the slow cooker in the morning and know that dinner was sorted for the evening. Didn't need a lot of extra ingredients. Apart from that there was nothing about these sauces that was better than other slow cooker recipes. I can make a chicken curry using curry paste just as easily and DC preferred the usual 'home made' version. DH thought it tasted quite sweet and was too mild for him.

We liked the taste of both of them but didn't love them I'm afraid.

Probably not. Very pleased to have had the opportunity to try them but would probably stick to my current slow cooker recipes even if they take 10mins more to do.

A Thai version, some spicier flavours, options for vegetarians.

We tried pulled pork and beef stew.

2. The flavour of the pulled pork was good.
3. Not for the price they are, I would also want to add water and more veg in future, we don't eat just meat in our meals and we found it dry.
4. Sausage casserole and a more spicy meal option would be good.

They were really easy to use, would be ok for someone not used to using a slow cooker.

No I wouldn’t. They’re expensive at full price and my family found them really watery and bland. They didn't save me any time in making them as I had to add to them at the end to make them edible.

Simple and easy to use - I could only get the chicken curry flavour one

Everyone cleared the plate, but the sauce flavour itself was a bit lacking. It smelled very nice cooking in the pot but the taste was a bit on the bland side.

For a low input meal then yes, but the cost is a little on the high side for me.

Mexican fajita filling type flavours, and maybe herby chicken stew

Food being ready to serve in the evening without me spending ages on the kitchen.
What was your families favourite thing about the sauces you tried?
My husband and I liked the chilli con carne one, kids disliked both varieties.
Would you recommend the Homepride Slow cooker range to others? Why?
No, the chilli con carne required too much prep work for my liking, it annoys me to have to pre cook slow cooker ingredients. Also tried the BBQ pulled pork variety which was really dry. Followed the instructions cooking on high for 5 hours but after little over 4 hours it already looked really dry so I turned it down to low.
Which other flavours would you like to see introduced?
It's unlikely that I'd buy any flavour that was introduced, for me these sauces just don't work as well as following a regular slow cooker recipe.

We've given up I'm afraid. DH tried the local Sainsbury's on Friday and drew a blank; he even asked Customer Services and they said we'd have to drive about 14 miles to the next (bigger) store.

I was coming back from work and tried the Tesco en route. None there either - again had store staff checking.

Given driving to where there's a bigger store isn't a essential journey, we're not going to be able to do the test unless we sign up for online shopping which is daft when the nearest store is 5 mins walk away, let alone driving.

1. I liked that they were really easy to use.
2. The flavour - we thought the chicken curry was great as a family recipe. The beef and ale was also quite nice, although if we had it again I would have added water
3. Maybe, although we did feel they were expensive for what they are.
4. Another curry - jalfrezi or balti

1. What was your family's favourite thing about the Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces you tried? We all enjoyed the chicken curry, the steak and ale was just terrible though. Really strange taste to it.

1. Would you recommend the Homepride Slow Cooker range to others? Why? I would probably not recommend for the convenience and to people. I know that I could make a dish in the slow cooker just as tasty, if not more, from scratch for a lot less than £1.80. If people are on a hurry and don't want to faff, I'd probably point them in the direction of a powder sachet for 50p.

1. Which other flavours of Homepride Slow Cooker Sauces that you would like to see introduced? Flavour combinations that can be harder to achieve at home. Pulled pork, chilli and beef pie are all staple recipes in this house and not ones that I would usually buy a convenience sauce for. I would buy jar sauces for Chinese dishes (sweet and sour, Kung po, etc...) but these are quick cook dishes that I wouldn't slow cook.
