This is the feedback thread for the 200 Mumsnet users who have been testing Klearvol essential oil inhalation capsules. This product test was open to all MNers with at least one child aged over 3 months to 12 years old.

I really liked them. I remember either these or something that smelled the same that my mum used when I was small.

Easy to use, lively smell which is soothing as well as working as a decongestant.

Certainly smells that way. I think it helped with the childrens' stuffy noses and it is a lovely comforting scent.

At night before bedtime for my youngest and for my eldest, morning abs evening. I would use these regularly when they get congested/a sniffle

We tried on a clean muslin tied just out of reach by headboard and a clean cloth draped over warm radiator.

In the evenings at children and our bedtimes.
I think as a household would use them in the autumn/winter and potentially the spring.

Really easy to use, safe. I like that they didn’t need to put on the skin. The smell wasn’t overpowering.

We all came down with bad colds last week, so this was perfect timing! We all had a hanky each in bed with us. I would probably use them for every cold, which is probably twice a year.

These took me straight back to my childhood having karvol capsules, the name may have changed but the smell and effectivness has not. They were wonderful, helped us all breath easier and had me feeling like a kid at home being looked after by my own mum!

Used when my one year old had a bad cold. Probably would need to use around once a month over the winter with just starting nursery and various bugs about!

I liked the smell, baby seemed to sleep pretty well with them despite his blocked nose. Not sure if much difference in effect to olbas oil which would work out cheaper. Found capsules a bit fiddly also.

I popped one each night onto a muslin and tied close to my daughters bed.

I used a couple of capsules the other day at the height of her cold (one each night)

For such a small capsule they pack a mighty punch! A must have for little ones suffering with the sniffles.

I love that they are Natural essential oils - nothing synthetic! They portion out the perfect amount needed so you needn’t worry. But most of all they work! My daughter slept more soundly than she usually does with a cold.

Absolutely. They are not too strong that they make my eyes water but just strong enough to work! I found the smell very soothing and will probably use one the next time I have a cold!

I used in a diffuser first but the smell wasn't quite strong enough, so I then used in a damp flannel over the headboard.

I used the capsules in the diffuser during the day when the youngest had a chest cough. I put the flannel on his headboard during the night. I would probably think I would need to use them five or six times depending on the severity of the cold.

Overall I liked them, I would probably buy them myself. I prefer them to the oil you can buy in a bottle.

Easy and simple to use, I like that there is no heat or plugs needed as DD doesn't have a plug socket that would work for the other types of inhalation things

We used then when my DS had a really heavy cold. We would probably use them a few times a year as and when needed.

How did you use the Klearvol inhalation capsules? On a handkerchief or dtopped a few drops in hot water n the steam filled the room with lovely smell baby was not in the room then and it was kept safely. And also in a diffuser.

Used twice a day especially at night when kids were going to bed.
