At the same time as giving their feedback on this thread, testers completed a survey on their experience of testing the Morrisons nappies with their child.

84% would recommend the New Baby Nappies, 83% would recommend the Ultra Dry Nappies and 85% would recommend the Ultra Dry Pants to a friend or family member, therefore Morrisons Nutmeg nappies and pants have been awarded the Mumsnet Rated badge.

This is the feedback thread for the Mumsnet users who have been testing nappies or pull up pants from the Morrisons ‘Nutmeg’ range.

Testers trialled Nutmeg New Baby Nappies, Nutmeg Ultra Dry Nappies or Nutmeg Ultra Dry Pants.

We used the ultra dry nappies in size 6. happy with fit. no leakages and skin seemed dry when changing nappy.

1. What did you like about the Nutmeg nappies? I liked the fit but found them on an equal par to other supermarket brand nappies

If you could change or improve anything about the Nutmeg nappies, what would that be and why? i would definitely like to see the size of the nappy made more clear. it took me ages to see the number on it and even then it was hard to read, just handy as at times i cud have several sizes in my change bag and seeing it easily would make things handier for me.

We tried the Ultradry size 5 nappies. I was pleasantly surprised on their performance. We had no leaks, no issues at all. My little one seemed perfectly comfortable all day in them over a period of few days- they fit well and she struggled to pull them about like she does her normal nappies. Unsure 100% as she is teething but we did have a slight rash at one point. I’m putting it down to her teeth but can’t be completely certain but wanted to be honest.

1. What did you like about the Nutmeg nappies?

Their fit and flexibility around the body. My little one I think is a little petite in size for her age but size 4’s are way too small. Some size 5’s do not fit brilliantly but the nutmeg ones were a good fit!

She seemed to be running about as normal and life was still as crazy. These nappies held their own!

1. If you could change or improve anything about the Nutmeg nappies, what would that be and why?

The design aesthetically wasn’t appealing to me- thought they were a little boring/drab. That’s the only thing I could comment on.

1. Would you recommend the Nutmeg nappies to others?

Yes I would, I think they are an option I maybe wouldn’t have considered before now but would 100% recommend trying these nappies. I think they are a good alternative to other nappies!

1. Which Nutmeg nappies or pants did you test?
Size 4 nappy pants for my 15month old DS. They fit well, there was no leakage during the trial and nappy area was kept dry.
2. What did you like about the Nutmeg nappies?
These nappy pants were a snug fit (so no leaks), they didn’t sag when wet and they were very soft.
3. How did your child feel wearing the Nutmeg nappies?
Much happier to be changed than when wearing regular nappies. Not sure if it was due to them being nappy pants (as we have not tried these before) or due to this particular brand!
4. If you could change or improve anything about the Nutmeg nappies, what would that be and why?
I found it hard to rip the sides of the nappy pants to remove them (maybe I’m just not strong enough) not a problem for us but may not be great if you are in a hurry with a squirmy baby.
5. Would you recommend the Nutmeg nappies to others?

I tested Nutmeg New Baby Nappies size 2. They fit perfectly well as for a baby which is 4.6kg, there was no leakage as before with other brands and the skin was dry and not red.

Softness of material and strong velcro.

1. How did your child feel wearing the Nutmeg nappies?

I'm sure my baby was comfy and happy - she was more dry than usual and had no red marks on the skin.

1. If you could change or improve anything about the Nutmeg nappies, what would that be and why?

I would like to see the wetness indicator because it helps to assess whether nappy changing should be done immediately or can wait a bit longer.

Definitely. One of the best nappies I've ever used.

I used nutmeg ultra dry nappies. Fit was excellent- snug enough to prevent leakage but nice and roomy too. On skin dryness I thought it was as good as other brands I've used.

2. What did you like about the Nutmeg nappies? Thought the fit and anti leakage was great.

3. How did your child feel wearing the Nutmeg nappies? Seemed perfectly happy and comfortable.

4. If you could change or improve anything about the Nutmeg nappies, what would that be and why? They didn't feel very 'premium' - I might make the material a little thicker to give a more robust feeling to it. But that's minor criticism and probably wouldn't improve performance.

5. Would you recommend the Nutmeg nappies to others? Yes I would though I'd want to be reassured they were good value for money on cost grounds.

Nappy pants size 6, great fit, no leakage, no skin dryness noticed.

1. What did you like about the Nutmeg nappies?

Good fit, wide enough on the bottom area, and didn’t leave indentation marks on the hips.

1. How did your child feel wearing the Nutmeg nappies?

He seemed happy when they were on, but was distracted during change time if he saw the little plastic tab on the back, and kept trying to pull it off. Once the nappy was on, he didn’t notice the tab.

1. If you could change or improve anything about the Nutmeg nappies, what would that be and why?

The plastic tab at the back needs to be removed. It was completely pointless, it didn’t seem big or sturdy enough to wrap the soiled nappy up, and it was distracting for my toddler. It might be useful for a newborn nappy, but on a large nappy like the one we were testing (size 6) it didn’t achieve anything. My toddler just wanted to remove it, and kept trying to rip it off.

1. Would you recommend the Nutmeg nappies to others?

Yes, providing the price was comparable to Aldi or Lidl.

We had the size 5 pants. They fitted well and we didn't have any leaks, and skin was dry.

1. What did you like about the Nutmeg nappies?

They are soft and fitted well for my son, who is tall and slim - we often find that nappies that are the right size for his bum are too big for his waist.

He can't speak but he wasn't complaining so I think he was fine!

Nothing, they seemed fine.

Yes definitely, I think they will be particularly good during potty training as I see them as a transition to wearing underwear.

We tested the Nutmeg Ultra Dry Nappies in size Junior 5. Performance wise they were great. Absorbent, no leaks either day or night with wees or poos. Skin felt dry. The only thing I found was they seemed a bit smaller than the usual size 5's I get (ASDA) and the tabs didn't go as far round or meet as close in the middle. This didn't affect performance though, it just felt different. He would probably need to size up sooner too.

I liked how they seemed more lightweight and less bulky that my usual ones, but they were just as absorbent.

He seemed fine and happy. No issues.

I can't think of anything.

Yes I would, assuming they were a decent price.

We had the size 6 nappy pants. We tried them a few times but unfortunately they just didn't fit my 2 year old. There is only one brand and style that fits her but I had been hopeful these would be an alternative. They seemed to perform well but seemed closer to a size 4 in fit.

3. If you could change or improve anything about the Nutmeg nappies, what would that be and why? They were very narrow and tight. I wasn't confident they could contain a poo!
4. Would you recommend the Nutmeg nappies to others? If they had a small child and were looking for a cheaper nappy that appeared to work well I would recommend they try these.

• Size 2 nappies, they worked great and are really soft and fit really well too. There was no leaking from the sides and it didn't dry out my baby's skin.

• I liked how they felt because they were soft and seemed to be very comfortable on my baby's bottom

1. Hi we tried the size 6 nappies.

I thought they were v good in terms of absorption & no leaks which is always welcome!

1. I liked the softness of the nappy & the bands were secure. Also great absorption day & night.

1. My child said they weren’t as comfortable as the usual nappies. He found they didn’t quite seem to fit properly. Perhaps a little low & he kept trying to pull them up.

1. I would perhaps like them a little higher & maybe like above comment - a nice dinosaur pattern!

I think due to the fit not quite being right I wouldn’t buy the nappies in this size which is the usual size but would be more than happy to try them out in a slightly bigger size to see if that made a difference as all I get aspects were great. Every child has a different shape I guess and my son is tall for his age.

1. I tested the newborn size 2. No problems with rash or leaking.
2. They were very soft and seemed comfortable.
3. At this age it is hard to say, but seemed to not find them uncomfortable.
4. No complaints therefore no suggestions. I liked that they were plain and not decorated though, why make kids more attached to nappies by adding images.
5. If competitively priced yes for sure

I tested the ultra dry nappies for my son who is 3months. They were soft and comfy but although they fit well around the legs and waist I found them a little short from front to back so they were quiet low riding at times. They didnt leak at all through the day or night though.

The pattern was beautiful and they were soft. They fit well between his legs too.

He seemed happy at being dry and moving wasn't an issue or rubbing.

I would possibly add a wet line indicator as this is on many nappies (inc other morrisons ones) and its really helpful. A bit more specific to my little one though would be a slightly longer nappy.

Yes possibly if it came with the line indicator.

The ultra dry size 6 pants. We found the fit to be quite small compared with our normal pull ups. My 6 year old normally fits in a size 6 but these were far too small and did not contain a night wee and leaked everywhere. The fit on my 2 year old was much better but narrow and she kept having to pull them out of her bottom! There was only one daytime leak for my 2 year old and it looked like a flaw in the nappy, generally they were ok. Skin dryness was good.

They were nice and soft

Mostly ok but a bit uncomfortable when she had to pull them out of her bottom.

A slightly larger (wider) fit. The narrow fit is probably good for less chunky toddlers, unfortunately I have quite a chunky one!
5. Would you recommend the Nutmeg nappies to others?
I'd say it might be worth giving them a try if they didn't have other options but I'd recommend other store brands first.

We tested size 6. They were great - no leaks at all and fitted nicely.

We tested the size 6 nappies. The fit wasn't great at all. They hung really low on my child and sagged a lot. The fit round the waist was good on the whole. No leaks during the daytime or nighttime. I found my daughter had excessively wet skin after wearing the nappy, despite the nappy not being full.

Not a great deal to be honest. I really wanted to like them, but they just didn't work for us.

In all honesty, she completely disliked it. She didn't like that the nappy hung so low and frequently tried to pull her nappy off. I had to encourage her to keep it on so that I could complete the product test, but she really disliked them and was absolutely fine when I put her back into her normal nappies.

1. If you could change or improve anything about the Nutmeg nappies, what would that be and why?

The nappies seem to be really long, which affects how they sit on the child. This caused my child to constantly pull of the lower part of the nappy.

Unfortunately, no. We had a really hard time getting used to these nappies and my child just didn't like them at all.

Baby nappies Size 3- no issues with leakage, really nice fit. Skin was great.

1. What did you like about the Nutmeg nappies? I liked the fit, they felt secure strong sticky bits. I liked the fact they had the indication line on the front to tell you they had done a wee. Held in epic poo explosions!

Cant really ask my 3 month old but he seemed happy enough.

The indication line didn't seem to always work. I think sometimes there was too much wee and it saturated it too much so it lost the blue colour. Although I'm a fan of polka dots, the fact they were pink and yellow made me think they weren't as unisex as they could be. Because it was pastel colours they seemed a little girly.

Would 100% recommend them to others. They are a decent price, and they did a great job.

Yes. I think nappies are not a one size fits all so would recommend them to others to try! It can just be due to the shape or size of baby to how well they fit.

I was impressed and would use them for day time nappies for our specific child.

The size 6 pants. They fitted very well, didn’t leak or dry the skin at all.

Size 6 nappy pants, size was good, we had some leaks because my son just guzzles water all day. No issues with nappy rash.
