At the same time as giving their feedback on this thread, testers completed a survey on their experience of testing the Morrisons nappies with their child.

84% would recommend the New Baby Nappies, 83% would recommend the Ultra Dry Nappies and 85% would recommend the Ultra Dry Pants to a friend or family member, therefore Morrisons Nutmeg nappies and pants have been awarded the Mumsnet Rated badge.

This is the feedback thread for the Mumsnet users who have been testing nappies or pull up pants from the Morrisons ‘Nutmeg’ range.

Testers trialled Nutmeg New Baby Nappies, Nutmeg Ultra Dry Nappies or Nutmeg Ultra Dry Pants.

We tried the size 6 nappy pants. These fitted perfectly and my son found the comfortable. My son only wears nappies for bed now, I found that the nappies leaked overnight. My son sleeps on his front and I have found this to be common with some brands.

1. What did you like about the Nutmeg nappies?

The nappies were are good fit. I like that they say feont and back too. Sometimes nappies only have pictures on and it can be hard to tell which way round they go! I think they are a great price too.

My son seemed happy to wear them. He likes the pictures and did not say they were uncomfortable.

I would like them to be a little more absorbant at the front for when little ones are sleeping on their front.

Yes, I think they ate very affordable. They caused no sensitivity or sore parts. Although we experienced some leaks when my son was sleeping on his front we have experienced this before. It has also been very hot weather so my son may have been drinking more than average.

Newborn size 2. Nappies did well in terms of overall fit and leakage during the day. We didn't use these at night. No issues with skin dryness around the area.

Easy to unwrap and flatten to put on when changing.

Baby was happy with no issues.

I would prefer to have the wetness indicator on the nappy. Our baby has had nappy rash so we rely on the wetness indicator to keep nappy rash at bay.

I tested the ultra dry size 4 nappies, they fit my 17 month old perfectly, no leaks day or night and no rashes or any issues with skin dryness. Sometimes my little boy can get a red bum after wearing a nappy overnight since I tend to use eco friendly bamboo nappies for overnight but with these nappies didn't cause any redness at all

They were soft, minimalistic but cute design that my son liked to look at. I liked the fact it says front and back even though it seems unnecessary it was actually very useful to be able to see at first glance which way it should go!

He was happy to wear them and enjoyed looking at the design on the nappy so no complaints from him!

I don't think there is actually anything I would change about them!

We used size 4 nappies. We only used them during the day but has no leaks and skin stayed very dry.

The sticky strips were incredibly strong and stayed in place. My husband really liked that front and back were written on the nappy as it made it easy to get right (although I thought it was a bit condescending...)

He's only 6 months so couldn't tell us. But was able to move around easily and didn't seem upset wearing it at all.

Size 6 pants, first time we’ve used pull ups.
Dryness was good but found them too narrow at the back. Waistband fitted well but the bottom bit isn’t wide enough and gave her a wedgie a few times. She’s fine in size 6 nutmeg nappies so I’m not sure why these were different. We had two mega leaks first thing in the morning.

The wedgie issue wasn’t ideal and serious poo leakage was unfortunate.

The back needs to be wider. The design could be brighter. The look of the nappies is better.

Unfortunately not, though grateful to have been given a chance to try them, sorry!

Size 4 pants for my 10 month old skinny boy. Fit was good, very similar to Pampers pants, although a little lower waist which meant they came under his pot belly a bit, this didn’t cause issues but may have with an older baby in this size. One day of wee leakage on day 1 at the back which was my fault for not pulling them up high enough. Coped 12/13 hours overnight with no leaks, amazing! No skin complaints.

Very soft, made pulling them up easier than pampers. Nice size double cuff to prevent leaks.

No complaints! No leaks bar day 1 so he must have been happy

Another few cm on the waist do it didn’t slide down under his belly. Pattern was cute, maybe make it a bit brighter!

We tested the ultra dry nappy pants size 6. They seemed to fit well, came up high on my daughter's waist. They were very soft and didn't irritate her skin. No leaks in the day, but unfortunately they did leak overnight.

I looked how soft they were and how gentle they were on the skin. We also liked how they said front and back on them!

They need more absorbency at night/ when wearing for longer periods of time, if that's possible.

I would, as they were so soft, but would recommend a different brand for night time.

I tested Size 2 ultra dry nappies and was quite pleased with them. I found them soft and easy to put on. I was able to compare them to Aldi and Pampers brands and they seemed of similar good quality and fit. Although there was no leakage I will still want to use Pampers Premium for the night.

Daughter is too young to expression her feelings on this but seemed happy enough in the nappies.

They seem good quality and do not leak if used for short period of time (up to 4 hours) but I am not convinced that they will last through the night.

Yes but depending on price and availability of course (eg possibility of home delivery).

Nappies in size 6, just for overnight. They were absolutely fine, no leaks, no complaints from my son.

They perform fine which is what I'm most concerned about. I was amused by the front and back labels on them - by size 6 you'd hope we'd worked that out, but I can imagine it being very useful for new parents/occasional carers.

I would certainly suggest them to someone looking for options. We don't have a Morrisons locally so are unlikely to buy them, but if it was ever convenient I would.

We tried the Nutmeg ultra dry size 4 nappies. They fit pretty well but gaped slightly at the back. However we had no leakage, day or night. There was also no dryness.

They were so soft. Much softer than the usual brand so can imagine they felt very comfortable. And super stretchy and looked comfortable

We tested Nutmeg Ultra dry nappies size 5, we really liked them. They fit well and coped with my son and how much he wees especially in warm weather!

DS sometimes complains his nappy isn't right but he didn't at all with these.

Maybe they looked a bit boring, the print on the outside was a bit washed out but wasn't actually an issue.

Yes I would, thought they were great nappies!

We tested size 5 ultra dry nappies. No leaks or redness at all. Fit was a tiny bit loose around the waist but dd is long and skinny.

As well as the above, labelling "front" and "back" made for a quick nappy change. Also the design was simple and muted, so didn't show under clothes.

Comfortable and dry. She was very happy running around in them and slept well at night.

I'd just add a mark for where the tabs are meant to stick around the waist.

We tried newborn size 2 on my 6 week old and the fit was definitely appropriate for his size, we didn’t experience any leakage or dryness so worked well.

They felt softer than nappies I have used before which is nice and had a nice fit.

Elijah seemed very happy in the nappies and didn’t get anymore upset than he normally would with a wet/dirty nappy.

1. If you could change or improve anything about the Nutmeg nappies, what would that be and why?

The only point I have which is probably just a personal issue is I struggled to open it with one hand whilst holding his legs with the other due to the waistband but on the flip side the band is probably what makes the fit nicer so if it was possible to have both that would be lovely. I would also add a few different pictures and make them a little brighter.

Yes I would recommend these nappies, overall they do a good job and kept baby happy. :)

They had a really secure fit, but still felt nice and soft and comfortable. We didn't have any leaks at all while using them.

He seemed really comfortable wearing them, no skin irritation at all and they fitted well, even though he is extremely active.

I tested the ultra dry nappies. Tbh he’d started leaking the last few nights due to him rolling on his tummy, I tried this and...it stopped. This alone impressed me and would make me buy them again.

1. If you could change or improve anything about the Nutmeg nappies, what would that be and why? The sizing is massively off, we had our usual sizes 2 and they were tiny!! Also I miss the pee line, I used to it and even though I know he’s probably peed it’s almost like an unconscious check I do

We tested the size 5 Ultra Dry nappies on my 15 month old. They were a fairly snug fit but left no marks on his legs/tummy, no leaks at any time and his skin seemed dry and clear while using them.

2. What did you like about the Nutmeg nappies?
They were soft, easy to put on, and I like having the front/back labelled as the design is otherwise very plain and it might not be immediately obvious. Good value too!

5. Would you recommend the Nutmeg nappies to others?
Yes. I don't often shop at Morrison's so am unlikely to buy them frequently but definitely would if I was doing a shop there for any reason.

We tested the ultra dry nappy in the size 5. It was a perfect fit for my 17 month old. We had no issues with leakage and there was no issues with dryness or flare ups of eczema.

1. What did you like about the Nutmeg nappies?

The nappy felt soft to touch and the tabs stuck well. You can also easily tell front from back at a glance due to the graphic.

My child seemed happy and content and showed no signs of discomfort or irritation.

1. If you could change or improve anything about the Nutmeg nappies, what would that be and why?

A clear colour changing line to show wetness would be a good addition. I don't think it had this feature and if it did it was not obvious.

Nappy was practical, dry and appeared comfy. It lasted through the night without problem.

We had no leaking, Kept Eadie's skin very dry I am very impressed by them and will be using them again.

1. I liked how they fitted around the legs and waist, They fitted very nice and snug leaving no marks which says they are very comfy. Plus they was soft to the touch not like other brand which seem very stiff and hard.

1. Eadie seemed very happy wearing these pants, she played as if she was not wearing anything.

We only used the nappies for night time use as DD is potty trained in the day. They were easy for her to put on, they fitted well and comfortably as far as I can tell. We didn't experience any leaking and her skin hasn't been irritated like it can be occasionally with other brands.

DD was obsessed with the sticker bit at the back, we spent the first few days trying to stop her pulling it off. She did say occasionally that the nappies were "ouchy" because of the sticker, but not sure exactly what she meant, there were no sore areas.
We did end up going back to another brand as a result, and she prefered the pattern on the others.

Remove the sticker bit, purely because it annoyed DD

Yes

We tested the size 2 newborn nappies.
The fit was really great, my son has quite chunky thighs and the leg fitting and waste band have a nice fit without being too tight around the legs. I found leakage at night as they didn’t seem to hold very well and the nappy seems to front load and not fill up round the back so a few mornings found leakage on my sons vest around the belly, it also looked like there was leakage around the belly as the nappy got looser around the stomach at night I presume from emptying the bladder and the waste band doesn’t contract back snuggly. During the day they also front loaded but I noticed and changed more often. When the front fills and it doesn’t distribute to the back of the nappy it’s not leaving complete dryness and when changing you can see the skin is wet.
I liked that the nappy had a good comfortable fit around the legs and initially around the stomach when first on. They would be better if the liquid distributed more evenly through the nappy and if it had a better elasticated fit around the stomach that pulls back in once the bladder is offloaded and the stomach contracts back in.
I would definitely recommend Nutmeg nappies for day time use, but not for longer periods at night unless you are waking frequently to check for leakages.
Although the skin was still wet in some occasions, we had no soreness or redness using the nappies at all

Nutmeg new baby nappies size 1. They performed very well in all areas listed.

I liked how soft they are, no scratchiness at all.

I’m not sure what size they are- I asked for size 5 and got sent ‘XL’! They were a bit big, but quite absorbent. They were fine for daytime use but I didn’t test them at night as they were too big on the legs so I knew they would leak. Dryness around nappy area was good- I.e stayed dry.

Not sure they even were Nutmeg nappies.. but they were quite absorbent.

She seemed happy enough, and comfortable.

Again, not sure what I was sent actually were Nutmeg nappies- there was no brand name on them and they don’t look like the normal Nutmeg designs. See attached photos.

Not this one, as it wasn’t the size I asked for and I don’t like the design.

Size 4 Nappy pants.
They fit well enough during the day but I did wonder if it was more a problem with the fit during the night as we couldn't manage a night leak-free. My 14month old will sleep through the night and we had 4nights of waking up with leaks.
We had no leaks during the day and no issues with skin dryness.

1. What did you like about the Nutmeg nappies?

They were great during the day because my 14month old has started taking off his regular nappies (pulling off the sticky tabs) when he's not wearing a vest/trousers. And he wriggles free during the usual nappy changes so the Nappy Pants were quick to put on. This was a Huge bonus!

They were very soft.
