This is the feedback thread for the MN users who tested Deliveroo service of delivering food from local restaurants for their family feast.

How did you place your order - via the app or website?

• What takeaway did you order for your family?

Curry. I was really disappointes by the restaurants available, there are much more on just eat for instance. Quality was really not great and I won't be ordering back.

• How easy was it to use Deliveroo?

Yes it wad quite easy, although some places seem to have huge menus and it's confusing.

• What did you like or dislike about the service?

I think delivery and food seem overpriced compared ton independant take away places and I would prefer to have direct contact with restaurants. Delivery was pretty much on time, which is positive.

• Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend?

I wouldn't recommend it because the best take aways in the area are not on there, the options available seem pretty average and delivery can be expensive

I placed my order via the app - which was so easy to use!

I ordered a takeaway from TGI Friday's: A burger with fries, Ribs with fries and some boneless chicken wings.

It was SO easy to use Deliveroo! Having never used it before I thought it may be confusing but everything was so straight forward and simple.

I liked everything about this service! The amount of choice is great and completely different to what is offered with other takeaway apps. The ordering process was quick and easy to use, and the updates as to where my order was were amazing.

I don't think I would change anything about the service - everything was great; from placing my order to receiving my order - couldn't fault it! I would definitely recommend Deliveroo to a friend, and I will most definitely be using the service again. Having never used it before I didn't know what to expect but it is just fabulous. Well done Deliveroo!

We ordered fried chicken via the website. It was pretty easy to use, I liked the speed of delivery, it arrived really quickly and was very hot and tasty. I was a bit disappointed you couldn't order children's portions via the service, I'm sure there's more choice in the restaurant itself. I'm also not a fan of having both a delivery charge, and a "tip for the driver". On the whole it's a good option for those nights where you're too tired to cook but you want a bigger choice than you can get from regular takeaways. I would recommend the service, based on this experience. I have had a worse experience in the past which has clouded my opinion a bit though sadly.

I liked how if I added things to my basket and then put my phone down, or temporarily closed the app that my order was still
In my basket ready to go so I didn’t have to scroll through the whole menu again.

The only thing I would change about the service is the variety of places to order from because I found that I tried looking for at least 4 different places and they weren’t there. Other than that yes I would definitely recommend it to a friend

I didn't find it that user friendly- I'd prefer a single list of restaurants we can order from, rather than the categories that weren't really relevant to me. Once I'd chosen the restaurant it was easy to order though.

• What did you like or dislike about the service?

Liked the way you could track your order via the app. Didn't like that our food came later than promised. Also they forgot part of our order and although we got the money back, it was as credit to our Deliveroo account which I thought was a bit cheeky! Would have preferred the money back to my bank account

• Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend?

See above. I wouldn't tell a friend not to use it but not sure I'd necessarily recommend it above other delivery companies.

• What did you like or dislike about the service? So easy to use the app. Updates about the order and notification when the driver is nearby it brilliant. Extra handy when your toddler has decided to take a nap so you can intercept the driver before they ring doorbell :-). Obviously this would depend on location but we are lucky enough to have a wide range of restaurants available in our area so great choice. Friendly smiley driver too.

I ordered pan-Asian food from a local small chain.

How easy was it to use Deliveroo?
It was very easy to use from the app. The menu is quite extensive as the restaurant offers various options but each section was broken down into different tabs

What did your like or dislike about the service?
I liked the regular updates, particularly useful was when the food had actually left the restaurant and how close the driver was to us. It was a bit disappointing that not all of the menu was offered as a take-away option as we looked forward to having one dish in particular, which wasn't on the menu. I think this is more of a restaurant issue deciding to not include the dish on the takeaway menu rather than Deliveroo. (It was a beef rendang curry so not something that I thought there would have been issues in transporting)

Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend?
In a ideal world the takeaway menu would have included our favourite dish. Also there seemed to be lots of chains included but not many of our local independents - again this could be more down to the restaurants than a Deliveroo issue. For the restaurants and food available to choose it was a great service. The message updates from the app were really good and I would definitely recommend the service.

Not as much choice in restaurants as I was expecting. There is more choice on just eat.
We wanted to order from tgi's but the choice of food was very limited compared to in the restaurant and we couldn't find enough meals to suit everyone
We did not get the updates via WhatsApp

More choice might be available in other areas, I will probably stick to ordering direct or via just eat.

I ordered KFC, although the choice was quite limited in my area so the only options were chicken, pizza or burgers.

• How easy was it to use Deliveroo?

Using the website was very easy. It was easy to navigate and see what the choices were, and I liked the status update bar once the order had been placed.

• What did you like or dislike about the service?

There was a limited choice of options in my area. The only 2 big name companies were KFC and Frankie and Benny's. The food choices were chicken, pizza and burgers which I wouldn't necessarily buy from a local fish and chip shop or kebab shop. The other issue was the lack of children's menu options. I had to order adult sized portions for all of us whereas my kids always have the children's menu when we eat out.

The service was brilliant. The only thing I'd change is that when the delivery was brought, the rider called me and the number showed up as a Leeds landline number. I ignored it the first time presuming it was a cold caller, and only answered it the 2nd time on the offchance that it was from Deliveroo. Had it have shown as a mobile number I would have answered the first time.

• Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend?

Only as mentioned above about the phone numbers used by the rider. At £2.50 delivery and for limited choice I probably wouldn't recommend it to a friend. I will probably only use Deliveroo again if I am having a really lazy night.

I love that you know when the food is on the way and getting close. I find the lack of food descriptions irritating especially when I’m trying to work out if a or b is likely to be vegan.

• Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend?
  

Would recommend without hesitation. I think it would be great if all restaurants included their ingredients or at least a list of common allergens in each dish rather than the usual cop out of call them. I also think a policy of not accepting restaurants with a food hygiene rating of less than 3 would save me a bit of googling. The delivery charge is also a bit steep.

Pretty easy- very similar to Just Eat really

The food was cold when it arrived. The driver apologised for being late (although it was still within the time frame given), and he said he'd been waiting there for 20 minutes for the food to be ready so they'd added an extra pizza.

We were also disappointed as we'd ordered gluten free salted caramel snowballs as a desert - we got 5 dough balls (there were 8 in the picture on the website) and they didn't have the dusting of cinnamon and icing sugar as promised.

The pizza however was the best take away gluten free pizza I've had delivered. It was amazing- far superior to the mushy effort of Dominoes and Pizza Hut that I've had in the past. It tasted like normal pizza and was an absolute delight.

It was also really easy to find gluten free options, this is much harder on other services.

• Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend?

I'd like nice hot food delivered! The delivery cost is also off-putting and we don't order take away enough to get a delivery pass.

The order took too long to arrive. The food tasted good, even though the description of some of the dishes were different to how the meals actually tasted.

Service should be free delivery, especially as every time I've ordered from Deliveroo it's always late!

Would only recommend to a friend if they had any special deals or promotions.

Really easy. I've used the website before but not the app. Found it really well designed.

- What did you like or dislike about the service?

The variety of choice is great. Although I don't think full menus are always offered? We looked at a couple of restaurants we visit regularly and only half their menu was available.

I liked the WhatsApp message updates about delivery time.

- Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend?

I'd definitely recommend to a friend. It's great for myself and DH to treat ourselves occasionally but I'd like more offers. It's expensive to order for a family of five otherwise.

I downloaded the app and found it very easy to use.

• What did you like or dislike about the service?

There was a limited choice of options in my area, but good quality.

The service was brilliant. It seemed so much quicker to arrive than ordering a takeaway and the food was hot. Also free delivery for the first 30 days is great!

Only to widen the choice. Yes would definitely recommend. Thanks for the free food! A great experience.

I liked how easy it was. Very user friendly. I didn't like how long the order took but that's not Deliveroo's fault - and the app was very clear on time expectations.

I would love free delivery - and additional discounts. Would definitely recommend for how easy it is to use and get food any time, any day!

The service was quick and easy to use. The food was not that well packaged and some was cold. A better solution for keeping your order warm would be great. Overall it went down well though I thought the delivery price was a little high.

How easy was it to use Deliveroo?
Very easy to navigate the website apart from the site automatically overriding my manually entered address with a similar address! same road name and same first half of post code, this resulted in a longer wait time while I contacted customer service.



What did you like or Dislike about the service?
Liked the huge choice, trending dishes and the speed of service

Disliked the delivery driver informing me about an unavailable item when he arrived rather than the restaurant informing me. I also disliked the fact that I then had to contact customer service for the part refund.



Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend?
Just the blip with the address mix up but that is more to do with the system they use as similar has happened with Uber.

I would recommend to a friend, issue was dealt with and food still arrived hot.
