This is the feedback thread for the MN users who tested Deliveroo service of delivering food from local restaurants for their family feast.

I placed an order- this never arrived.
What was reliable however was the charge to my credit card.
Deliveroo refused to refund the money as they did not do the delivery.

Who won the Deliveroo ‘Twitter Party?’ Which was extended without notice - it was meant to be those who entered in that one hour slot were entering to win but after the hour was up you posted saying to keep the responses coming and you could win - that was 17 hours ago so who’s won @YanaMumsnet?

I really hope I haven't left two lots of feedback! I was sure I had but then couldn't see anything from me.

- How did you place your order - via the app or website? Website on my phone.
- What takeaway did you order for your family? There was not much choice for us, I think Deliveroo are new to the area (edge of Birmingham). We had pizza with sides and icecream.
- How easy was it to use Deliveroo? Very.
- What did you like or dislike about the service? Liked how easy it was to see what was available to order from, liked the tip for the driver option a lot.
- Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend? I would recommend it. Would like it to be easier to view the order while still adding to it though; I often forget what I've added and have to check.

Can I add something? You can’t ask for a delivery at a certain time or in XX mins.

Also, there’s no way to check something on the menu (they are sometimes different from the restaurant and don’t always have full details).

My favourite Chinese has an annoying habit of ‘switching off’ at busy times so you have to sit poised for them to come back online!

via the app on my mobile. I downloaded it especially for this review.

• What takeaway did you order for your family?

Wagamama's - food for 4 adults and three children.

• How easy was it to use Deliveroo?

very easy via the app. we had a running update on how the food deivery was going and an apology and explanation when the delivery was delayed by 15 minutes.

• What did you like or dislike about the service?

The delivery person couldn't find our house so had to walk down the road to meet him.

• Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend?

Would definitely recommend it to a friend and have already used it again in a different town when visiting family.

A local Italian that’s been recently added to deliveroo.

• How easy was it to use Deliveroo?
  

Very easy! Always very good with delivery updates etc.

• What did you like or dislike about the service?
  

No dislikes at all. The best thing about deliveroo is how so many decent restaurants are offered (in my area, anyway). It’s food I’m happy to serve to my child, and I’d be happy to eat at a restaurant. Compared to some other takeaway apps that just seem to offer low quality and unhealthy food.

• Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend?
  

I wouldn’t change anything, and I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

Unfortunately it won’t let me add pictures, but we had the most amazing meal. It was a real treat. Thank you for choosing us!

I didn’t like that if there was a missing item them was no option to get that delivered again without having to pay for the missing items again and a delivery fee but only get reimbursed for the items and not the extra fees.

I would include an option to get missing items delivered. Yes I would recommend to my friends.

• The service was reliable and I liked the variety of restaurants on there. I disliked how there was not a link for allergens, I had to get information from the Five Guys website.

very simple to use, and once the delivery man had the order he was quick

• What did you like or dislike about the service? i liked that it was simple to order, prices where clear and speedy delivery

• Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend? i would like more choice in the amount of places to order from but other than that, i would highly reccomend to friends

How easy was it to use Deliveroo?
Very easy to navigate the website apart from the site automatically overriding my manually entered address with a similar address! same road name and same first half of post code, this resulted in a longer wait time while I contacted customer service.



What did you like or Dislike about the service?
Liked the huge choice, trending dishes and the speed of service

Disliked the delivery driver informing me about an unavailable item when he arrived rather than the restaurant informing me. I also disliked the fact that I then had to contact customer service for the part refund.



Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend?
Just the blip with the address mix up but that is more to do with the system they use as similar has happened with Uber.

I would recommend to a friend, issue was dealt with and food still arrived hot.

There was loads of choice, we could get things we wouldn’t normally be able to order for delivery.

The service was quick and easy to use. The food was not that well packaged and some was cold. A better solution for keeping your order warm would be great. Overall it went down well though I thought the delivery price was a little high.

Sushi - I was surprised the selection wasn't as varied as I was expecting for my location but there were lots of decent sushi places

Incredibly easy. I also checked out what was available on the website and ordered through the app

I liked how easy it was. Very user friendly. I didn't like how long the order took but that's not Deliveroo's fault - and the app was very clear on time expectations.

• Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend?

I would love free delivery - and additional discounts. Would definitely recommend for how easy it is to use and get food any time, any day!

I downloaded the app and found it very easy to use.

• What did you like or dislike about the service?

There was a limited choice of options in my area, but good quality.

The service was brilliant. It seemed so much quicker to arrive than ordering a takeaway and the food was hot. Also free delivery for the first 30 days is great!

• Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend?

Only to widen the choice. Yes would definitely recommend. Thanks for the free food! A great experience.

Really easy. I've used the website before but not the app. Found it really well designed.

- What did you like or dislike about the service?

The variety of choice is great. Although I don't think full menus are always offered? We looked at a couple of restaurants we visit regularly and only half their menu was available.

I liked the WhatsApp message updates about delivery time.

- Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend?

I'd definitely recommend to a friend. It's great for myself and DH to treat ourselves occasionally but I'd like more offers. It's expensive to order for a family of five otherwise.

- How easy was it to use Deliveroo? Very simple.
- What did you like or dislike about the service? I liked the speed, how easy it is to order and how easy it is to add a tip for the driver. Disliked how little choice there was, but it is very new in our area.
- Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend? I would recommend it but with the reminder that it depends on what is available in your area.

The order took too long to arrive. The food tasted good, even though the description of some of the dishes were different to how the meals actually tasted.

Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend?

Service should be free delivery, especially as every time I've ordered from Deliveroo it's always late!

Would only recommend to a friend if they had any special deals or promotions.

Gluten free Pizza Express

• How easy was it to use Deliveroo?

Pretty easy- very similar to Just Eat really

• What did you like or dislike about the service?

The food was cold when it arrived. The driver apologised for being late (although it was still within the time frame given), and he said he'd been waiting there for 20 minutes for the food to be ready so they'd added an extra pizza.

We were also disappointed as we'd ordered gluten free salted caramel snowballs as a desert - we got 5 dough balls (there were 8 in the picture on the website) and they didn't have the dusting of cinnamon and icing sugar as promised.

The pizza however was the best take away gluten free pizza I've had delivered. It was amazing- far superior to the mushy effort of Dominoes and Pizza Hut that I've had in the past. It tasted like normal pizza and was an absolute delight.

It was also really easy to find gluten free options, this is much harder on other services.

• Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend?

I'd like nice hot food delivered! The delivery cost is also off-putting and we don't order take away enough to get a delivery pass.
