  • Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend?

  • How did you place your order - via the app or website? Website
  • What takeaway did you order for your family? Burgers & chips
  • How easy was it to use Deliveroo? Very easy
  • What did you like or dislike about the service? Liked that it was different food from Just Eat, easy to order and liked the updates e.g. when the food was on its way.
  • Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend? I would recommend Deliveroo although I didn’t particularly enjoy the food and didn’t think that it was worth the price. Also I ordered ice cream but it didn’t arrive. However, it was easy to note this on the app and my account was credited with the cost. Would potentially recommend if I had better food/ service in future.

  1. we placed the order on the website
  2. we ordered pizza from our local favourite pizza place
  3. It was straightforward to use deliveroo
  4. I liked the fact we had a good choice of restaurants and local favourites as well as national chains. My husband changed his order as he did not want one of the toppings on the pizza and we seemed unable to request that topping was removed - although it was easy to add toppings. The order came swiftly and being notified via WhatsApp was good
  5. I would recommend it if that is what you were looking for and whilst I think the delivery charge was reasonable for the work involved I think I would probably still go and collect the order myself rather than get it delivered

  • How did you place your order - via the app or website?

Website
  • What takeaway did you order for your family?

Papa Johns pizza
  • How easy was it to use Deliveroo?

Ordering was very straightforward
  • What did you like or dislike about the service?

We wanted to order on a Saturday lunchtime. When I went to order I discovered that in the area (suburban area of major city) there was no delivery rider until 17.30. This was not obvious when I had looked at the website previously; I may have been able to check in advance but not sure how. We were able to order from Papa Johns as they have their own delivery service. Food arrived within the advised time frame and was hot.
  • Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend?

Make it more obvious on the website what times delivery is available in each area. Would recommend, very easy service to use.

I placed the order via the website

We ordered Japanese noodles for the family and tried somewhere we hadn't been before

It was easy to use the website (we've used it before)

I liked the access to all of the delivery options clearly laid out, and i liked seeing the progress of the order from placing the order to delivery. Nothing i didn't like (i was expecting the delivery charge)- apart from all of the recycling and rubbish generated by the meal. But that's not just deliveroo

Most of my friends have already used deliveroo but I would recommend it as one to look at if they wanted to see the range of food available for delivery

How did you place your order - via the app or website? Website.

  • What takeaway did you order for your family? Burgers and chips.
  • How easy was it to use Deliveroo? It was very easy to join and place an order.
  • What did you like or dislike about the service?

I have NEVER ordered a take away in. It was easy to join and see the options available in my local area and select the items I wanted. I could easily delete and add items and the estimated delivery time was accurate. The food was well packaged and the deliver driver was friendly. Overall a very good experience. There delivery charges seemed acceptable but I think some places would deliver free were I to order direct from them. There was also a 20 per cent discount if the order was more than 20 pounds which was great.

There are lots of take aways near me but there did not seem as much choice as I would have expected to choose from. Also less options available to take away from if I ate in at the diner.
  • Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend. More listings are needed. I would recommend this and use the service if I had lots of people round

How did you place your order - via the app or website?
Website

  • What takeaway did you order for your family?

Several different items from our local Co-op including pizza/pasta & pudding!
  • How easy was it to use Deliveroo?

Very easy and super quick.
  • What did you like or dislike about the service?

I was amazed that the local supermarket was on the list. I wish I knew this when the babies were small. It would be a godsend to order food and even milk and loo rolls when you are stuck at home and don't want to spend ages getting everyone ready to go out! The kids loved the fact that you can watch your order being made up, the driver arriving and then on his way - they said it was like Santa! I also liked the large choice of restaurants and variety of food to choose from. No dislikes at all.

  • Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend?

No, I wouldn't change anything. I have already recommended it to several friends.

How did you place your order - via the app or website?

The app

  • What takeaway did you order for your family?

Reds true BBQ

  • How easy was it to use Deliveroo?

Very easy. There was 25% off orders over £20 so we ended up with a lot of food. App easy to navigate and add and subtract from the order.

  • What did you like or dislike about the service?

Delivery time was spot on, food arrived hot but there wasn’t far to travel! We looked at the menu in the afternoon and chose what we wanted but when we went to order at least half of the menu was u available. Not deliveroos fault but poor on the part of the restaurant.
I added a note for the driver to press the buzzer on the gate. This was ignored and he rang me. Lots and lots of plastic dishes. Again more of the restaurants fault but something to Be addressed.

  • Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend?

Ability to tip the driver after the delivery. Yes I’d recommend and usit again.

Via the app
- What takeaway did you order for your family?
I ordered pizza, lasagna and a burger from Gusto
- How easy was it to use Deliveroo?
The app was very easy to use
- What did you like or dislike about the service?
The food was very nice and well packaged. It was very easy to use especially as DH is currently in hospital. The app also kept me updated on the progress of my order. However, the food arrived a lot later than initially estimated. I would prefer it if it was more honest when the order was lodged rather than to keep adding another 10 minutes repeatedly
- Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend?
I would have the food delivered within the initial time estimate not 45 minutes later. However, I would recommend the service to others as once the food arrived it was lovely.

Ordered via the app

We chose too too moo, a Pan Asian restaurant.
Very easy. I had already downloaded the app. I had thought from advertising that you could order from more than one restaurant but that didn’t seem possible and I didn’t want to risk it.
It was very quick - within half an hour and allowed delivery from a restaurant that wouldn’t deliver directly. It was good to be updated about delivery time. It was a nice treat on tree decorating night and our mildly fussy 6 year old tried and enjoyed some new things.

It did say it would arrive in 15 minutes originally but that would have been impossible but otherwise a good experience.

The price of delivery is a little high and I may order direct if it was cheaper

  1. I placed my order via the app (which I thought was nicely designed and visually appealing).
  2. We ordered Pizza Hut. I would have gone for something more interesting but DS is quite fussy and only really likes pizza out of the available options.
  3. It was really easy to use.
  4. I liked the order updates and it arrived more quickly than it said it would. I was a bit surprised to find that delivery was £5 though. Obviously it makes sense when you think about the fact that a driver has to go collect it and you're paying for that, but I wasn't really expecting it.
  5. I wouldn't change anything about the service and would recommend it for places that you can't get delivery from otherwise. There were only a handful of restaurants/takeaways available in my area but hopefully this will expand.

  • What did you like or dislike about the service? I like the simplicity of ordering and being able to track progress. From previous experience I don’t like how hard it is to find out what has happened to a late delivery.
  • Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend? I would definitely recommend as Deliveroo tends to have a better variety and quality of cuisines available. the only thing I would change as referenced above is the difficulty in tracking down a delivery that is taking a long time or is running late.

  • How did you place your order - via the app or website?

We went to the website, so that the whole family could participate (we have not done this before, so wanted to all have a go - surprising maybe as I have been aware of Deliveroo for years)

  • What takeaway did you order for your family?

We ordered burger and fries and shakes. It was three meat burgers, with various add ons and off, and a veggie burger and a variety of fries. 2 milkshakes in abominable flavours too. This was very muc a child treat - if it were down to me it would have been curry.

  • How easy was it to use Deliveroo?

It was very easy. Interface was good, searchability good. Timings were easy to see. Yes, a lot more flexibility than I would have thought.

  • What did you like or dislike about the service?

I liked that you could put things in basket, see the price going up, take things out, keep it all fluid but also doublecheck before pressing go. I liked the fact we could track our driver. Disturbing too because she got lost and we could tell she was wandering - made it quite fun though as well. I liked that we paid in advance and didn't have to deal with money on the door. I liked the accurate timings. Was rpcier than I thought - the delivery charge can be hefty - so I would not do it on a regular basis.

  • Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend?

More deals - incentives. Otherwise it is an expensive way of doing things - but that is eating out/in in general I suppose. More food categories would be useful - we are in Central London so I expect we have a lot more choice than some anyway.....- don't call stuff healthy - I really wanted something from that, but it put my son right off!

As a family we logged in to the website on a laptop, as this provided the easiest way of reviewing the options available to us - on a mobile phone app this would have been very difficult (thanks to us having a huge choice).

It took us a long time to decide what to order on the night - on reflection we should have reviewed this before heading out earlier in the day as this meant we felt time-pressured when ordering and as we were hungry this proved difficult. We eventually decided to order Thai food.

The process of ordering once we had decided what cuisine and restaurant to order from was very simple, and similar to the service we have used with other companies. From choice to payment confirmation this was very fast, simple and efficient. We liked the format of the website, the ease of selecting dishes, and the payment system which worked very well.

The only factor we did not like on Deliveroo was filtering the choices - many of the restaurants have clearly selected multiple cuisines or food types to maximise their reach, but this made it more difficult to filter those restaurants out. Occasionally the filtering system failed entirely, forcing us to restart the process - this was frustrating and added to the time-pressure.

While we are within 2 miles of many of the restaurants, we were disappointed to receive a lukewarm meal, 40 minutes after ordering. Some of the dishes arrived in uninsulated boxes, which meant these were cold. This was the most disappointing part of our evening, and ruined our meal. It may be that those offering delivery through Deliveroo need to rethink their packaging, or Deliveroo courier bags need extra insulation.

Overall, we would recommend Deliveroo to friends if they are closer to the service providers, and not up big hills - couriers are going to struggle with some areas where satnav directions take convoluted routes, or up steep hills. We enjoyed having the opportunity to choose a meal together as a family, and it was expected to be a treat, but on this occasion receiving lukewarm food let us down.

Ordered through the website. Was very easy. Ordered from Wagamama. It's the kids favourite so it was great to be able to order that for take away. The food was lovely except for not being hot enough. I think that it's actually a bit too far away and so shouldn't be available for delivery to our postcode. Much as I like Wagamama food, itd be better to choose somewhere where the food would still be hot when delivered.

  • How did you place your order - via the app or website?

I used app
  • What takeaway did you order for your family?

Chinese

  • How easy was it to use Deliveroo?

Not as easy as other similar apps like JustEat or Hungry House. I don't like the dashboard, as it immediately asks for your location. restaurant menu layouts are not as user-friendly as on other apps. You have to scroll across the screen to see the options. It's much easier to see your options on a dropdown menu. The search wasn't very effective either. I wanted to add rice to the order, couldn't find that option in scrolling, used search and it gave me rice dishes rather than side order option. I got there in the end, but it took me longer than usual.

  • What did you like or dislike about the service?

Our driver managed to get lost... The address is on the main road, and we never had problems with our building being hard to find before. He called us and was quite abrupt and it sounded like it's our fault he can't find us! Took him another 10 min to 'find us'.

  • Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend?

The food was amazing. Really good restaurant which we couldn't get on other apps. The driver did spoil our experience a bit. Ever since the order, I am getting daily email from Deliveroo. Annoying. Not sure if I would recommend it above others.

It's a shame that Deliveroo delivery area is so limited. Restaurant choices are very limited too. They need to work on that if they want to be competitive.

I found it pretty good to use. Food arrived very quickly and order was accurate.
The front page is a bit overwhelming but that's because we've got so much choice near us, and I'm not yet used to using the filters. Also my family are insanely fussy so no system of filters ever devised could find a restaurant that all of us would be completely happy with, but that's not really Deliveroo's fault.

  • Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend?

I think it's fine, I'd recommend it as an option if you want to eat from somewhere that doesn't have its own delivery service.

  1. We placed our order through the website
  2. Pizza Hut, a rare treat for the children.
  3. Really straight forward to use, no problems at all, even I could do it.
  4. Liked how straightforward it is. One of the kids was confused by the ad on tv and thought they could order all different types of food so in the end I went into a different room and ordered without their input. It was good to see the expected delivery time before you started, pizza hut had a 35 - 50 minute wait time but at least I knew it going in. While in our area (E4) there was a lot of choice we were supprised by what was missing, for example dominios is a lot closer than pizza hut but we couldn't order from them. Also confused by delivery charges as some restaurants which 1 could drive too in about 2 minutes had higher charges than some further away. It also might have been cheaper going directly to pizza hut and cutting out the middle man. Saying that some restaurants on the site don't have their own delivery service so in thoses cases deliveroo would be better.

  5. Yes I would recommend but would suggest they check out if the restaurant had it's own delivery service first.

i like the constant notifications of delivery process. i like it was quick delivery, the food came on time. the food was still hot.

i did not like that that there was not as much choice for Asian cuisine on there compared to fast food. my local wagamama does deliveroo but was not on the app so very annoying and confusing. i did not like that the delivery prices were not uniform. my delivery was set above the standard suggested price of £3.50.

  • Would you change anything about the service and would you recommend it to a friend?

it needs more different types of cuisine and restaurants to sign up.
delivery prices should be the same for every restaurant.
there should be somewhere to type in notes or questions
menus on the website needs to be proof checked as there were mistakes on the menu and it made ordering more difficult as the dishes and names was not correct, therefore somebody could have ordered an item of food and it would be a different dish that turns up. could be bad for allergies/diets, etc.
app needs to be tested more for accuracy, some of the drop downs did not work so could not order some food, such as a curry dish said to choose from chicken, lamb etc but there was no drop down items to pick from. there were a few menu inaccuracies such as no where to order egg fried rice when they have it on their paper menu.

i would recommend to a friend.
