Advanced lamellar technology gives long-lasting, fast absorbing and lightweight formulas. All products are hypoallergenic with no emulsifiers, perfume or parabens, reducing the risk of allergy. Babies and children can be prone to heat rashes during hot or humid weather because their sweat glands are not fully developed. Ultrasun’s products help to prevent prickly heat making them especially suitable for children and those with very sensitive skin. The easy to use products are, non-greasy, non-sticky and water resistant meaning applying sun cream to wriggling little ones is less challenging and teenagers are protected without constant reminders to reapply.”

- Who did you try the sun cream on?
- How confident were you that this product provided the best and long lasting sun protection for you and/or your child?
- Did you find the product easy to apply? Was the process fuss free?
- What is important to you when choosing a sun protection product?
- Would you buy this sun protection again? Why?

Who tried the cream?
I tried it on myself and my two DD's age 3 & 1.

How confident of protection?
Very confident. Product gave good even coverage and no one suffered any sunburn despite only applying once.

Easy to apply?
It was simple to apply. Both DD's were happy to have the cream applied despite normally using spays.

Important in choosing suncream?
Most important is speed and ease to apply. Dd1 has had reactions to previous suncreams and came out with prickly heat and swelling. She had no reaction to this. Level of protection is great for one application.

Would I buy?
Definitely.

Who did you try the sun cream on?
My 14month old ds and me
- How confident were you that this product provided the best and long lasting sun protection for you and/or your child?
The packaging looked very scientific which was reassuring
- Did you find the product easy to apply? Was the process fuss free?
The product felt very thick and I found it quite hard to apply also bought my ds up in small bumps on his arms. They went down quickly and didn't irritate him.
- What is important to you when choosing a sun protection product?
Coverage and ease of use, ease of dispenser, that it does what it says on the tin, that it's as natural as it can be whilst still offering good protection, that it contains no milk byproducts as ds has a dairy allergy.
- Would you buy this sun protection again? Why
No I felt that the cream was too thick and didn't cover easily, also made ds react. Was fine on me but I think I prefer other creams.

Very - it seems a reputable brand, and the product felt high quality.

  • Who did you try the sun cream on?

Myself and my 2 DC (3 and 6)

  • How confident were you that this product provided the best and long lasting sun protection for you and/or your child?

Fairly connfident from the UV ratings. We have been hot in the hot weather after using it and did not burn at all.

  • Did you find the product easy to apply?

Was the process fuss free?
Very easy to apply. The cream is absorbed quickly, and doesn't leave a greasy feel. It doesn't have an overpowering smell. I like the pump action spray as I won't end end up with a gunky old-suncream covered lid!

  • What is important to you when choosing a sun protection product?

Good UV protection. Easy to apply

  • Would you buy this sun protection again? Why?

Yes, if it were a comparable price to other brands. It wasn't as greasy as some I have used previously.

-Who did you try the sun cream on?
Me, 2 year old and 3 month old children

-How confident were you that this product provided the best and long lasting sun protection for you and/or your child?

Was certainly long lasting, l burn easily and didn't get burnt while wearing the product for a day out in the UK.

-Did you find the product easy to apply? Was the process fuss free?

Yes, product is thin in texture so spreads easily. I liked the container and pump action. Wasn't sticky although I found it took some rubbing in otherwise it left white marks.

-What is important to you when choosing a sun protection product?

Maximum protection, once a day application, price, soaks in without white marks, non sticky.

-Would you buy this sun protection again? Why?

Probably not. I don't know what price point this retails at but I'm assuming it's expensive and I've used some excellent cheaper suncream. I didn't like the chemical smell either.

Myself and my 6 month old son

- How confident were you that this product provided the best and long lasting sun protection for you and/or your child?

Very confident but I will always regularly reapply sun cream even if long lasting, but it reassured me that I could just reapply it every few hours and not worry too much as we were all protected.

Yes it was easy to use the bottle and the cream went on easily and wasn't too greasy or sticky. Importantly for us it didn't exacerbate DS's eczema as well.

  • Who did you try the sun cream on?

Myself, husband and 3 DC's.

  • How confident were you that this product provided the best and long lasting sun protection for you and/or your child?

It has a different rating system to other products which makes it hard to compare. The instruction on the packing says that one application is sufficient unless heavy sweating, swimming etc. My preference would be to still apply this every 2 hours as per instructions of dermatologist. Also there is limited evidence for these types of sunscreens lasting all day so would be keen to find out more about how they are tested as little information about this with the product.

  • Did you find the product easy to apply? Was the process fuss free?

Yes it was easy to apply and fuss free. I found it hard to rub in and was left with some white streaks but am not too bothered about this. I was definitely aware of it 'sitting on the skin' but this is no difference to any other suncream I have used. It is one of the most wearable.

  • What is important to you when choosing a sun protection product?

High UVA/UVB and high factor (30 or 50). Prefer anything that is less greasy, sticky and messy to apply.

  • Would you buy this sun protection again? Why?

Yes I would buy this again although it is more expensive than my usual sunscreen which does pretty much the same job so might wait for it to be on offer.

Who did you try the sun cream on? My two children( one has sensitive skin and one has a normal skin type) myself and my husband who is a lot of time outdoors for his job.

  • How confident were you that this product provided the best and long lasting sun protection for you and/or your child?

yes I was confident, as all of us remained protected from the sun, when on beach It performed well, and perfect for each of our skin types.
  • Did you find the product easy to apply? Was the process fuss free?

Was easy to apply both ultrasun , dispenses a good amount and was easy to apply. It is white in colour as most are, but rubs in well. My children tend to move around when I’m applying our usual sun lotion, if gets in their hair it makes hair look a bit lank, but didn’t have problem ultrasun. The family ultrasun family has more of a cooling effect than the ultrasun sport although I found they are both very similar in feel and texture though. I did find though at first it does leave skin feeling a little sticky to the touch, which I wasn’t so keen on.
  • What is important to you when choosing a sun protection product?

we are all at the beach often, high factor 30 is important to us.
I was impressed with both ultrasun they kept all our skin well protected, didn’t cause spots on me like some sun lotions have, waterproof effective, and I like that both are suited to us all.
It’s is also not tested on animals, no animal products, shelf life of two years after opening so saves waste, and is ocean friendly.
  • Would you buy this sun protection again? Why?

Yes I would as it’s perfect for all my family, and does the job of protecting our skin perfectly and is easy to apply and lasts well on our skin and has what we look for in sun protection.

very confident, although 1 yr old now has a tan after the first day, but this is her first real "sunny season" and i remember this happened to my first.

  • Did you find the product easy to apply?

yes, I encouraged little ones to "help" while I put it on them. thin, but not too thin, good amount came out at a time too. The instrusction in box were a useful guide.

Was the process fuss free? lack of smell was nice, I didnt like the stopper thing in it and worried that they would end up in a mouth so put out of reach so were quickly lost unfortunatly.

  • What is important to you when choosing a sun protection product?

Myself, Husband and DD (18 months)

  • How confident were you that this product provided the best and long lasting sun protection for you and/or your child?

Fairly confident, It looked like a quality product.

  • Did you find the product easy to apply? Was the process fuss free?

The pump was easy to use and didn't leave my hands feeling greasy. Seemed to rub in fairly easily and didn't react with my DD's skin. However my husband found it left a residue on his legs not sure if he needed to rub it in more or was the hair on his legs? However, he did not like it.

-What is important to you when choosing a sun protection product?
5 Star UVA and UVB protection. Ease of application.

  • Would you buy this sun protection again? Why?

Probably not unless on a very good offer or much cheaper than competitors as my husband would not use it and I still prefer sprays/aerosols as they are much quicker to apply which is key with a toddler!

I used the factor 50 on my baby (10 months) and the factor 30 on myself and my 3 other children (4,7,8)

  • How confident were you that this product provided the best and long lasting sun protection for you and/or your child?

I felt really confident using yeh product. I also liked the bit on the packaging where it showed how much product you should use for correct coverage.

  • Did you find the product easy to apply? Was the process fuss free?

The nozzle bit broke off of the factor 50 the first time I used it which wasn't brilliant and did make it a bit tricky to apply.

  • What is important to you when choosing a sun protection product?

Good uva and uvb rating and kind to sensitive skin.

  • Would you buy this sun protection again? Why?

This is the first product I've tried that nobody's skin has reacted to. I usually have to buy different creams for different family members. So for that reason yes I would definitely buy this product again. I would probably look out for it being on offer somewhere though.

-Who did you try the sun cream on?
I used it on my child (age 2), my friends ds (3.5), dh, my mum and my aunt.

  • How confident were you that this product provided the best and long lasting sun protection for you and/or your child?

The uva and spf ratings made me very confident that it offered a good level of protection and I liked the additional information that was on the packaging, especially the pictures showing how much to use on each body part.
I did only apply the product once and had no problems at all, however I still felt a bit anxious about this, especially as we were on the beach.
I think that this is because I am so used to having to apply it every few hours and it just felt odd. Maybe o just need to get used to it.

  • Did you find the product easy to apply? Was the process fuss free?

It was really easy. The pump stayed sand free on the beach and was still usable with cream on my hands.
I seem to have some sensory issues and actually find applying suncream unpleasant usually. I feel a bit cringy when the sticky stuff gets on my hands and can’t wait to wash them. Ds is the same so getting suncream on him can be difficult. I was really pleasantly surprised to find that this wasn’t sticky at all and the cream was absorbed really quickly. Ds’s Skin was lovely and soft after.

  • What is important to you when choosing a sun protection product?

Level of cover and safety for ds.
It not being sticky. Envy
Cost

  • Would you buy this sun protection again? Why?

When I looked at the cost of the ultrasun before using it I thought that there was no chance that I would ever pay that amount. However the product has completely changed my mind. As you use less and it is only applied once a day (once I get my head around this idea) I don’t think that it will work out much more expensive.
The fact that it is non sticky and quickly absorbed is a huge benefit for me. It was also fine on my and ds’s eczema prone skin. I will definitely buy it again.

  • What is important to you when choosing a sun protection product? Protection, above all, but I liked that this was quickly absorbed (good for putting clothes on and getting them out to play soon after application!) and also, something I’d never considered in the past, was that this was friendly to the marine environment.
  • Would you buy this sun protection again? Why? Yes, if on offer. I think it’ll be great for holidays and I like especially that it’s marine-friendly. I think this is something we should be all considering!

Who did you try the sun cream on?
My 6 year old, 2 year old, hubby and myself.

How confident were you that the product provided the best and long lasting protection for you and your family?

Very confident, as the sun cream was of a good consistency and was comfortable that the whole family were protected.

Did you find the product easy to apply? Was the process fuss free? The product was so easy to apply, which was really useful as the kids can be fidgets when trying to apply suncream so the application nozzle was nice to see.

What's important to you when choosing a sun protection product?

The SPF, UVA and UVB ratings as well as the product being suitable for sensitive skin, as both kids suffer ezcema.

Would you buy this sun protection again? Why?

As much as I liked the product, I probably wouldn't buy it again unless it was on special offer.

I used the suncream on my two daughters (2) and myself.

  • How confident were you that this product provided the best and long lasting sun protection for you and/or your child?

I was very confident that the product provided long lasting protection.

  • Did you find the product easy to apply? Was the process fuss free?

I found the factor 30 suncream a lot easier to apply (used on myself) than the factor 50, which I used on myself and my daughters; I found the factor 50 a lot more difficult to apply as it seemed thicker and drier somehow. I liked the pump dispenser and a little went a long way.

  • What is important to you when choosing a sun protection product?

The level of protection and UVA/B rating and a non-greasy product.

  • Would you buy this sun protection again? Why?

I would buy it (if it was on offer) because I felt it was a good product. It was non-greasy and slightly kinder to clothes than other brands I've used.

Who did you try the sun cream on?

I tried it on myself, husband and 2 children.

  • How confident were you that this product provided the best and long lasting sun protection for you and/or your child?

Very confident. My mum uses ultrasun for herself and has always told me to try it. From first application i was very confident that this product would be excellent at protecting our skin.

  • Did you find the product easy to apply? Was the process fuss free?

Very easy to apply. I loved the illustration inside the box to tell you how much to apply and where. The product also seemed to dry to a powder finish where other brands seemed to leave us tacky.

  • What is important to you when choosing a sun protection product?

Ease of application. Effectiveness of protection and where applicable a one time application. I also like products that dont stain clothes.

  • Would you buy this sun protection again? Why?

100% yes. Ive already told my husband we will be investing in it, best ive used. Great for the whole family and just feels like a quality product.

Who did you try the sun cream on?

We tried the suncream on both ourselves and our two children.

  • How confident were you that this product provided the best and long lasting sun protection for you and/or your child?

We were very happy that the product done its job successfully. The last week has been very sunny and warm where we live and the children certainly did not burn.

  • Did you find the product easy to apply? Was the process fuss free?

Application was easy, both suncreams we tried had a good viscosity. Although the cream was thick it rubbed in easily; unlike other brands we have tried.

  • What is important to you when choosing a sun protection product?

Easy application, a good amount of coverage and being able to trust the product to keep us protected from the harmful rays of the sun.

  • Would you buy this sun protection again? Why

Absolutely, although it's a bit more than I would normally pay. I feel confident that the product will work effectively on myself and my family.

Who did you try the sun cream on?
The whole family (myself, DH, DD1 (8), DD2 (19 months)

How confident were you that this product provided the best and long lasting sun protection for you and/or your child?
Very confident that it provided great protection as DD missed a small patch on her neck when applying and that was the only part of her that got a bit red after a day in the sun (this was using SPF30 at the time)

Did you find the product easy to apply? Was the process fuss free?
I actually found the recommendations on the inside of the packaging really useful in applying just the right amount. I would say it's quite fuss free in application easy to put on. I would be concerned about recycling the pump after it's finished however.

What is important to you when choosing a sun protection product?
5 star rating for UVA and UVB protection, that it doesn't feel greasy when it's applied.

Would you buy this sun protection again? Why?
I think I would buy the SPF30 again as seemed adequate for our family but the SPF50 felt a lot greasier on the skin however could prove useful in high temperatures.
