This activity is now closed

Disney are looking for as many families as possible to sign up to take part in their new 24 Hour Challenge as part of Disney’s Healthy living commitment. The challenge is to clock up a total of 24 hours worth of activity with your team between June and September.

Here is some more information from Disney: “This summer Disney invites you to take part in the 24 Hour Challenge, a FREE, virtual challenge inspired by Incredibles 2, that you can do anywhere, at any time. Every week teams will have a chance to win Incredible prizes, including 10 weekly prize bundles worth £200 each and, if you complete all 24 hours, a holiday to Disneyland Paris to experience and take part in the Magic Run weekend, from 21st – 23rd September.

Families can clock up time doing activities they already enjoy (like walking, swimming, playing in the park), use our “missions” (inspired by the characters from the Disney/Pixar film Incredibles 2) as ideas to get started, or try something new!”

Please follow these steps to sign up to the challenge:

  1. Sign up to the Disney 24 Hour Challenge, create your team page & please select 'Mumsnet' when asked where you heard about the Challenge.
  2. Once you have signed up via Disney, please fill in this 3 question survey
  3. Share on the thread below your ideas of how your team will complete the challenge

Everyone who completes these 3 steps will be in with the chance of winning one of the following prizes:

  • £100 voucher of their choice (from a list)
  • PLUS anyone who retweets the MNHQ tweet about this thread using the #Disney24HourChallenge will be in with the chance of winning a £100 voucher of their choice (from a list) & an Incredibles 2 bundle!

ALSO everyone who leaves feedback on the 24 Hour Challenge (this feedback thread will be sent round in an email towards the end of the challenge) will be in with the chance of winning one of the following prizes:

  • Family ticket to the West End musical Aladdin + £200 for travel and accommodation**
  • Family ticket to Disney on Ice + £200 for travel and accommodation*
  • £100 voucher of their choice (from a list)

Thanks and good luck!

I thought sign up was easy and straightforward- thank you!
I like the look of some of the suggestions on the website, we have a trampoline in the garden and I like the thought of challenges to help us all!
We also like to go to the park and
I think we will do more walking/ taking children out with their bikes while we run along!

Iamnotanugget · 17/06/2018 21:19

We've made a real effort to cut down on screen time and do more together recently. We will have long walks, swimming and playing in the garden.

pinkspideruk · 17/06/2018 22:14

We go skating regularly - I play roller derby and H and D both have full kit so we can go to our local skating night - now the weather is dry we also go skating down the beach front as well as to the outside skate park (I do the bigger ramps they do the smaller ones)

It's a great family activity

gemima27 · 17/06/2018 23:34

we love walking, so trip to the park, walking to school easy to fir in acticities to make it doable

WheresTheCoffee · 18/06/2018 22:33

This is really achievable over the summer. Looking forward to it!

CathBookworm · 19/06/2018 17:47

Hello, my son and I are the Go Getters. We do a lot of walking already ( to school) but we will come up with some fun activities, like ball games in the park.

csa26 · 20/06/2018 09:54

Think it's going to be mostly swimming and cycling for us... see if we can do anything else over the summer though.

HermanCakeDestroyer · 21/06/2018 07:51

We have signed up as a family. We are going to do extra walking, swimming, cycling and badminton. Great excuse to get some more exercise in together as a family.

llynnnn · 21/06/2018 13:12

We are signed up :) I need to make an effort to get us all moving.
I plan regular trips to the beach for walks and cricket games, swimming, walks over the fields near us, football in the garden. They are also building a new park in our area so plenty of visits to use that if they get it open soon

Genka · 21/06/2018 15:52

We are doing a lot of football, walking and just spending time together in the park every weekend so i think 24 hours is not hard job for us.

mrsglowglow · 23/06/2018 10:31

We've signed up! Good excuse to limit screen time and spend more time together. Walking more and discovering what is going on in our local area. Also when on holiday hope to get in lots of swimming and cycling.

edgeofjonathan · 24/06/2018 03:37

Just signed up. I already do a fair amount of running and badminton already, so it'll be nice to get my siblings involved. My brother and sister have always said they've wanted to start going running with me, so the possible of going to the premiere of the sequel to one of their favorite films will be the perfect motivator. My sister already plays football so my brother and I will be able to join in with her on that too.

hutchy73 · 24/06/2018 16:59

We walk to school daily , at the moment we are walking for 20 minutes when we arrive to “walk to Russia” for the World Cup . We are off to Devon and Cornwall in July so will swim every day and walk on the beach . We will complete the challenge with bike rides and walks in the holidays

littlemonkeyz · 25/06/2018 17:53

We've signed up. We love to go on bike rides and play swingball and badminton in the garden so hopefully we should clock up our 24 hours with the help of some special missions

AllHailTheSunDog · 25/06/2018 21:57

Signed up! We’ll be making the most of the local moors and beach to achieve our goal. Ddog will be delighted 😃

Ratbagcatbag · 27/06/2018 07:57

Signed up and will be asking my daughter what she'd like to do to earn some hours.

I think with the World Cup on we may go for a game of football at the park, and get more walking/exploring in wherever possible.

Ratbagratty · 27/06/2018 20:02

We do a lot of walking around our village, swimming and I am learning Bokwa! Lo does baby ballet. Does dancing in the front room count?

youngmamma · 28/06/2018 21:50

I will be taking my step children's swimming and playing football

Megansmumsie · 29/06/2018 12:19

We signed up Monday, I think this is a great idea! We walk every where and swim on Mondays at the local -not so local- swimming baths. Now that the nice weather is here we're constantly in the garden playing so I think the time will rack up nicely.

Caribbeanyesplease · 29/06/2018 12:31

Done

Caribbeanyesplease · 29/06/2018 12:38

I love this challenge!

We are fitness fanatics in this household. Family jogs, yoga in the garden, walking everywhere.

carz1985 · 29/06/2018 17:04

Signed up. We do a 20 minute walk to school everyday, plus we do alot of walking at night and going to park. Going to try some of the fun activities on the site too

DobbyLovesSocks · 01/07/2018 16:04

We'll use this challenge to get more active as a family this summer. Our house fronts on to a green so we can play games and sports etc

OliveRainbow · 02/07/2018 00:25

We do the 15 minute Scouts run twice in a day (I do it four times) and then we play in the park nearly every day. Will look into swimming during the summer months Smile

thesoupdragon44 · 04/07/2018 08:46

My plan for the summer will be to do a little every day and getting my son out and about on his bike will be the start of us all getting out as a family
