This activity is now closed

Disney are looking for as many families as possible to sign up to take part in their new 24 Hour Challenge as part of Disney’s Healthy living commitment. The challenge is to clock up a total of 24 hours worth of activity with your team between June and September.

Here is some more information from Disney: “This summer Disney invites you to take part in the 24 Hour Challenge, a FREE, virtual challenge inspired by Incredibles 2, that you can do anywhere, at any time. Every week teams will have a chance to win Incredible prizes, including 10 weekly prize bundles worth £200 each and, if you complete all 24 hours, a holiday to Disneyland Paris to experience and take part in the Magic Run weekend, from 21st – 23rd September.

Families can clock up time doing activities they already enjoy (like walking, swimming, playing in the park), use our “missions” (inspired by the characters from the Disney/Pixar film Incredibles 2) as ideas to get started, or try something new!”

Please follow these steps to sign up to the challenge:

  1. Sign up to the Disney 24 Hour Challenge, create your team page & please select 'Mumsnet' when asked where you heard about the Challenge.
  2. Once you have signed up via Disney, please fill in this 3 question survey
  3. Share on the thread below your ideas of how your team will complete the challenge

Everyone who completes these 3 steps will be in with the chance of winning one of the following prizes:

  • £100 voucher of their choice (from a list)
  • PLUS anyone who retweets the MNHQ tweet about this thread using the #Disney24HourChallenge will be in with the chance of winning a £100 voucher of their choice (from a list) & an Incredibles 2 bundle!

ALSO everyone who leaves feedback on the 24 Hour Challenge (this feedback thread will be sent round in an email towards the end of the challenge) will be in with the chance of winning one of the following prizes:

  • Family ticket to the West End musical Aladdin + £200 for travel and accommodation**
  • Family ticket to Disney on Ice + £200 for travel and accommodation*
  • £100 voucher of their choice (from a list)

Thanks and good luck!
MNHQ

By the end of today, we'll already have logged our 1st hour! 😆

For me this challenge will be more about "sponsoring" Lucas to do more activity and donate on that basis. He's becoming too attached to the iPad. We're already walking from school more often but I aim to get him out much more on country walks, to the park and maybe some fun stuff like "go ape" style tree walking!

I retweeted, but it doesn't show as having been retweeted ? I feel the unicef thing is sprung on you rather late in the sign-up process.

We went for a walk before school this morning to buy bread. We are going to walk to the shops Saturday morning to buy a bike helmet for my son so then we can go out on bikes. We are going to the park on Sunday for a day out which will log quite a few hours of activity. Then we plan to go swimming on Monday after school. I love getting outside with the kids for some fresh air!

This challenge might prove a little too easy...

We will be walking the dog, cycyling, swimming and doing more exploring/walking. The kids have been known to do the odd exercise dvd with me so maybe I’ll dust those down.

Sounds great, can't imagine we will struggle to complete it Smile

Don't understand the sponsorship part, wouldn't let me put 0 so I just put £1

It'll be interesting to see how much activity we actually do together. We walk quite a lot, but not always all of us at the same time.

We don't have anywhere near enough active time. Our lives seem overwrought with chores and very little fun. Whilst our children don't spend hours indoors watching the TV, they also don't get out and about (with us) enough...although their childminder does a lot with them. I am also 5 months pregnant and have pgp and sciatica and am pretty immobile and don't see it getting much better anytime soon so this will be good to try and help me keep going with some lighter exercise (although my physio has limited me).

When we do have time off work/school we are pretty active and in the last school holiday we went swimming twice and visited a farm for a day out and did lots of walking too. So I know we can do it, it's just fitting it into our lives which are already so busy.

I want to swim more (which helps with my pgp and sciatica) and my husband wants to take the children out for more walks (especially our youngest who has heaps of energy to burn).

That’s us signed up. We will be taking ddog for walks at the beach and woods, going for bike rides, horse riding, messing about in the garden trampolining and water sliding if the good weather comes back.

We also like swimming and will be going on holiday in 4 weeks so I guess lots of the time will be logged in the pool there!

What fun - we’ve signed up and down the survey too! We were planning a nice long bike ride today so the timing is perfect. Does dancing at a festival count - we’re planning a real family boogie later today!

As a family we all love Superheroes but we sometimes struggle to think of active activities and games so this challenge is right up our street! We will do playground superhero games, be super jumpers on the trampoline, garden heroes and lots more.

Is anybody having trouble adding there team photo? I've been trying to add it from my phone for ages and it just keeps saying there is an error?? Confused

I signed up with Facebook, so it automatically used my profile picture. I need to borrow DD's teacher or a mum from school to take a team photo, then I'll try and upload it. 😆

I've signed us up. We are massive Disney fans and I took part in both the previous Disneyland Paris running weekends. This is the motivation I need to get exercising again, the kids love running and biking so great idea.

Easy first week for us - school holidays so lots of exercise outside. Not sure about the next few weeks though! Our 7yo does lots of activities, so plan to take our trainers so we can join in (hopefully won't cause too much embarrassment...).

Big Disney fans here, so any prizes will be a bonus - I would love to do the run in September while the rest enjoy the rides Halo
