NOW CLOSED

We recently recruited 10 MNers & MN blog/vloggers to help create two new mattresses at the Dreams Bed Factory for sleep deprived parents and parents to be. They will be testing out the two mattresses they made for a month and will leave feedback on this thread of their first impressions and final verdict. Read below to see what they thought of them!

Non-testers, in order to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice, please answer the following question - if your bed could do anything in the world, what would it be? Whether it’s simply being able to make itself after use or more adventurous like serve you freshly brewed tea every morning, we’d love you to let your imagination run wild and think of what you wish your bed could do.

Here’s what Dreams have to say: “At Dreams, we understand the importance of a great night’s sleep. However, we also know that as a new, or soon to be, parent this can feel impossible. That’s why we’re so excited to be working with the Mumsnet community to develop a mattress specially designed to meet your needs and help you get the sleep you deserve.”

If you'd like to find out more about how we made the Mumsnet mattresses click here.

Tester’s first impressions:

  • Please share a photo of your new mattress and tell us which one you chose and why?
  • Did you find the Dreams delivery team friendly and helpful?
  • What do you think of the look of the mattress?
  • What are your first impressions of the feel and comfort of the mattress?

Tester’s final review:

  • Overall how satisfied do you feel with the mattress?
  • Do you feel that the mattress has improved the general quality of your sleep? Please specify how it has improved your sleep.
  • What do you think of the quality and look of the mattress?
- Do you feel the mattress is comfortable and supportive? If yes, please give more details.
  • Would you recommend the mattress to a friend and/or family member?
  • What was the best thing you learnt whilst at the Dreams Bed Factory sleep panel day?

Thanks,

MNHQ

Non tester. I'd like a Bedknobs and Broomsticks bed that could teleport me. Failing that, I do like the idea of one that could launder the bedding every day.

fishnships · 26/06/2018 07:32

Non-tester. I'd like a bed with a built in massage facility, to relieve aches and pains after the gym, etc.

Natsai1 · 26/06/2018 17:38

Non-tester. If my bed could make me invisible so that my kids can't see me and wake me up when I need much sleep after a night shift that wou

I would love my bed to be climate controlled - warming in winter and cooling in summer.
I work in healthcare and have often envied the ‘bearhugger’ we put on patients during surgery. Would love something like that with not hot and cold options

Vole3 · 26/06/2018 20:12

Both, not ‘not’ even

BlackeyedPetitsPois · 26/06/2018 22:50

Non tester here.

I would love my bed to magically change the sheets, pillowcases and duvet cover every day so that each night I can slide into a bed with fresh linen. Oh and always have a cool pillow to rest my head on.

gemima27 · 27/06/2018 21:35

non tester. i would love it to be the perfect temperture....im always too hot or too cold...or even both...

ncullinane · 27/06/2018 23:12

Hmmm I'd want it to multitask! Make itself, change itself, keep me cool when needed and warm when needed!

MipMipMip · 28/06/2018 00:17

I want my bed to stop time. So I could sleep for hours and hours but still get up at silly o'clock feeling refreshed. I'm sure 48 hours a day will do to start....

Sammyislost · 28/06/2018 09:48

NON TESTER

If my bed could do anything....it would probably be to exercise my body while I slept, so I woke up with abs, and 0% body fat hahahaha. Honestly though, how amazing would that be.

If my bed could do anything in the world it would become an air-controlled, comfortable cocoon, which shuts out the outside world.

No snoring to be heard, nor little birds singing their heart out at 4 am to disturb my much-needed sleep. An automatic audio reading device would narrate my favourite twisty, gripping thriller as my head hits the pillow, switching off as I drift off to Dreamland.

Technology would waken me after enjoying my 8 hours beauty sleep, and the bedding would be fresh for my next night's sleep!

KittyKat88 · 28/06/2018 22:50

Non-tester:
I'd love my bed to be able to give me head-to-toe massages, ooh and a nice cup of tea on demand would be good too!

ClangerTwanger · 29/06/2018 11:36

If my bed could do anything, I’ve always wanted a bed that I could drive around 😂 ever since I was a kid! I’d love to be able to drive it places with me all snuggled up inside!

Megansmumsie · 29/06/2018 11:37

Non tester, just answering the question. If my bed could do anything, i'd really like it to just NOT break as the last two beds we've had have been next to useless but haven't been cheap ones, so yeah, all i'd really like is for my bed not to break unexpectedly and need to have reinforcement added to it! (we don't weigh a lot before anyone assumes that or have over exuberant 'sessions'!)

mitalmanda · 29/06/2018 13:32

I do currently own a Dreams mattress and bed frame, as is my daughter's too....free delivery, special offers, good customer service and very friendly delivery guys. If your bed could do anything in the world, what would it be?....maybe make my night's sleep last longer; I get up at 5am to get all my jobs done before my daughter gets up and before my Economy 7 changes tariff....so would be great to time stretch my sleep and actually get more than 5-6hrs sleep a night.

EsmeeMerlin · 29/06/2018 14:53

Non Tester-would be pretty good if your bed could be a time travel system. Just turn the bedknob like in bed knobs and broomsticks and travel anywhere you want.

starlingsintheslipstream · 29/06/2018 17:07

Non-tester

I would love my bed to cheer up everyone who sat on it and miraculously solve all arguments in my house.

chaztree · 29/06/2018 17:11

Wow...I'm so jealous...sounds like you all had a great time at the factory and also testing those lush mattresses....ah I can only dream! Mine is way past it's use by date. I wish my mattress would regenerate itself and become new...self filling and plumbing. That woukd be amazing. Wish it woukd also compartmentalize when o want my own space so my daughter, husband and I can have our own sections but also become one big mattress when we feel like snuggles....one can dream!

Carriecakes80 · 29/06/2018 17:48

Tbh until my eldest two leave home I can only dream about mattresses! lol. I sleep on a sofa bed in the front room and have done now for 8 years, so the thought of just a simple bed on its own is enough to make me smile, however, if I could choose something wonderful for my One-day bed to do, it would be to wake me gently with the sounds of nature, warm me up on colder nights and chill me out on warmer nights, and inside it would be a secret compartment to keep all my favourite snacks hidden from the kids! Yay!

tigga61 · 29/06/2018 20:57

i applied for this test but wasnt accepted but reading the reviews is engaging and educational and a brand i will consider soon

PickAChew · 29/06/2018 21:19

Non-tester.

I'd like my bed to safely hide my glasses from ds2 so he can't poke me in the eye with them at 5am, but they're there when I need them.

torthecatlady · 29/06/2018 23:34

Non tester not jealous one bit

If my bed could put its own fresh sheets on everyday, I would be so happy.

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 01/07/2018 08:11

I would love my bed to be able to keep my pillows cool. And make itself!

MargoLovebutter · 02/07/2018 13:20

Non-tester - if my bed could do anything, other than provide a blissful 8 hours of uninterrupted, deep sleep every night, I would like it allow me to wake up, washed, dressed and made up and ready to face the day - without having to do any of it myself! If it could also do the laundry, ironing and cleaning - that would be great too, although I appreciate that is a big ask! Grin

danigrace · 02/07/2018 16:55

If my bed could do anything it would have climate control
