What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?

Baby poo, food stains, mud.

What did you like most about the product?

Smell.

Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?

Yes; it was an effective stain remover and very easy to use.

Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?

It was far better than what we usually use - Ace, in the wash with the clothes.

Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?

In a long time. Yes I would, but only when it's on offer. However, I'm also in the process of switching our cleaning products to environmentally friendly versions.

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 01/02/2018 00:04

Firstly thank you for letting me be part of the trial. Always like to try new things (and it satisfies my opinionated nosy nature Grin )

What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?

Ok, I’m not a total clean freak but for the sake of this trial I did use Vanish on a few other unusual stuff as well as the usual stained school uniforms, including a food/tea stained dish cloth (came out white), a well used cotton cloth nappy that had faint stubborn wee stains - I usually hang them out to be sun bleached but being February I haven’t done that in a while so some of my nappies aren’t as white as they could be (it didn’t get rid of all the staining but it definitely faded them) and as a wild card I washed a cloth I’d been using while painting/decorating which had general house grime/dust/paint on (worked great on the ‘organic’ stains but sadly it didn’t do much in getting rid of the paint but I suspected as much)

What did you like most about the product?

It works! Usually by the time I reach for Vanish it’s ‘last chance saloon’ type situation wher I’ve exhausted all the other possibilities (I prefer to use ‘natural’ methods like lemon juice or vinegar) so it’s always nice to see it does work.

Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?

Yes, like me and everyone else with DC you’re always after that product that makes life abit easier cleaning up after them, which is the case for a lot of my friends/family so I’m happy to share my experience with Vanish.

Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?

Tbh I do use existing Vanish products anyway but as I’d said before I only use it as a last resort as I prefer less harsh chemicals and found it to be the same Vanish quality.

Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?

No and no I’m going to buy the same amount I usually do tbh, I do try to use natural cleaning products first so I don’t think I’d be buying more than normally.

  • What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?

I used this on dcs poo stain and also some pretty stubborn food stains (tomato!!)

  • What did you like most about the product?

Smell good, also stain removal was good

  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?

Yes, easy to use and great results

  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?

I used the powder version before but found this much easier to apply. Feels like less wastage and I don't have to cake the clothes with vanish

  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?

No, used the powder version. Yes definitely

ohfourfoxache · 01/02/2018 01:24

Thanks for including me in your product test

  • What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?
Baby poo and felt tip pen (DS1 aged 2 decided to colour in his little brother)
  • What did you like most about the product?
It actually smells quite nice - not as “chemically” as some other Vanish products. I also found the bottle quite easy to hold.
  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?
Oh Vanish I SO wanted to love this but I just didn’t. I absolutely love Vanish products and use them all the time (I get through a frightening amount of your oxy action powder for whites - even on colours). But this just doesn’t work as well. The consistency just looks like watered down “normal” liquid, and I just didn’t find it as effective in getting rid of really tough stains.

Having said that, if you really want to use a stain remover that is specifically non bio I suspect it’s more effective than anything else currently on the market

  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?
Needed more than 1 treatment
  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?
I use Vanish so often that I’m considering buying shares! I love Vanish, I trust it to do the job, it’s easy to use and it has always always been my stain remover of choice for clothes carpet and upholstery (your upholstery spray is an absolute miracle in a bottle). But I’m afraid I’ve found your other products more effective - sorry Blush

  • What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?
Baby pop and felt tip pen
  • What did you like most about the product?
Nice smell - not as “chemically” as some of your other products
  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?
I would recommend if someone specifically wants a non bio stain remover, but some of your other products are more effective
  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?
Poo needed more than 1 treatment
  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?
I’ve always used Vanish and particularly love your oxy action powder for whites - even for use on colours. And I think that this will remain to be my preferred method of stain removal
Boogalu45 · 01/02/2018 09:05

I used this on milk stains on grobags and various food stains mainly tomato ,spinach and weetabix
I liked that this was non bio so felt i could lather it on the growbags and soak things without worrying about skin reactions.
I normally use a own brand spray so was interested to use the gel. It was great on the food stains and lifted the historical milk stains considerably but not completely.
I have used in wash vanish powder before.
I find it expensive though compared to store own brand products. If I have the money I probably will buy this again.

  • What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?

Mostly on collars, sleeve cuffs and feet of baby grows. I don't know how she does it but she manages to rub food (tomato sauce and gravy is the worst!) and mud into the molecular level of her clothes.

  • What did you like most about the product?

I liked the smell and knowing it was non-bio for my babies skin

  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?

Good results without effecting my daughters sensitive skin

  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?

It means that my daughters clothes look clean when they are first on and I don't need to double wash

  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?

Yes definitely!

Sparkles23 · 01/02/2018 13:52
  • What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove? Food stains mostly but also poo stains!
  • What did you like most about the product? That it’s non bio and good for some stains
  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why? I would for someone who needed non bio but not for harsh stains. I didn’t ding it as good as Vanish Gold so would recommend that more!
  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal? Not really as found Vanish Gold better for food stains but would use for poo stains for a very newborn
  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products? No always use Vanish Gold, and would always consider using new Vanish products.
NoUseNumber31 · 01/02/2018 15:01
  • baby poo, dried on pasta sauce and paint
  • it was so easy to use and smelt nice. Not as chemically as some other stain removers I have used before.
  • yes I would recommend it, in fact I already have! It was the only stain remover to easily get rid of dried on stains that I used.
  • definitely made stain removing easier and less time consuming as I just chucked it in and didn't bother to pre soak.
  • have used vanish carpet remover before and would definitely continue with this!
Helspopje · 01/02/2018 17:31

WhereDoAllThePokemonGo · 01/02/2018 18:44

-What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?

I used this on my baby's clothes, which these days are covered in all the fun stuff that comes with weaning! Particular favourites which I didn't have much success in removing previously are blackberries and tomato.

- What did you like most about the product?

It had a really fresh smell, and the cap which is designed to treat spot stains was very effective at erasing them before my eyes, including aforementioned blackberry!

- Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?

Depending on the price point, I would certainly recommend the product as an all-purpose stain remover to others.

- Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?

I spent much less time scrubbing at stains to remove them from clothing - I only pre-treated the most stubborn stains on white clothing and the stains came right out.

- Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?

I have bought the Vanish powder in the past but wasn't very impressed with the results, but I would definitely buy this product again and potentially try some others.

BornInALighthouse · 01/02/2018 19:03

What stains?
Mostly for use on the unknown stains that come along with a toddler. Also paint and mud.

What I liked most was the smell and ease of use. I didn't presoak so just bunged in the wash.

Would I recommend?
Yes I would recommend.

Compared to before how was it?
It definitely improved the overall picking up of stains. I'm not really one for pre treating and I can say for sure no new stains appeared whilst using it.

Is this your first time?

I've bought the powder before but didn't find it as easy to use as this.

scatterbrainedlass · 01/02/2018 20:12

What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?
After a poo during nappy free time, I threw all the affected items in the washing machine with a lid of vanish. The white vest was perfectly white when it came out! As we are just starting with weaning we've had a lot of vegetable puree staina recently too.

  • What did you like most about the product?
It's so easy to use.
  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?
Yes, it actually works on baby poo stains without the need for pre soaking.
  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?
We have stain free clothes.
  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?
Yes and yes
theothersideoftheworld · 01/02/2018 20:15

I used it mostly on dirt stains and food stains.
It was really easy to use and I really loved the smell!
I would recommend it to my friends as it was so easy to use.
I’ve used vanish bar before but this was easier and I would use it again.

Bella310 · 01/02/2018 21:24

What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?
Food - Banana, Baked bean juice, Tomato pasta sauce, cheese spread and mud/grass.

What did you like most about the product?
Easy to measure out in lid, clear instructions on how much to use, pop it straight in the drum on top of the washing.

Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?
Yes - I felt it worked on the stains we had however at the price it is it's not something I would use in every wash, maybe just the badly stained washes??? I currently use a powder stain remover and pop a scoop into most washes.

Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?
Much easier/quicker, I usually pre-treat anything with stains and add a powder stain remover to the washer draw as well.

Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?
No, I usually use other Vanish products however this one is quick and straight forward.

moreginrequired · 02/02/2018 00:34

What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove? Poo, blood, snot and general toddler grime

  • What did you like most about the product? It did seem gentler than the normal powder which I am more used to, I would have to weigh that up versus cost
  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why? I think for speed of use, I would recommend it but also for use with woolens where the powder cannot dissolve suffiiciently to work in the wash
  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal? It worked as well as powder vanish but better on woolens
  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?
I might consider dependent on cost, to use it versus bar and soap which i currently purchase
Youssef15 · 02/02/2018 06:22

I used the product to remove food stain from my kids clothes . Also nappies leak stain from my baby's vest. I like vanish because i don't need to put these clorhes in tje washing machine and wait for result... i can remove stain in a few minutes and then put the item in the washing machine with my clothes. Vanish is the best product i've been using for my case as a mum because it makes me save time and energy. So i highly recommend for mums and i will definetely buy.

Snotato · 02/02/2018 07:44

On top of the other stains I already listed on this thread, last night I treated an orange wotsit stain on dd’s White cardigan.it came out good as new.

lovewatchingrainfall · 02/02/2018 09:52

So my husband came home from work with his work top covered in things I do not want to know about (he is a nurse) and I am pleased to report he now has one clean shirt again

FlashingLights · 02/02/2018 10:22

SnotGoblin · 02/02/2018 10:42

What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?
I tried it on old tomatoey food stains on a much loved white shirt and on some grease marks on another shirt. I also tossed some into a generic wash to see if it would have any impact on a regular wash cycle.

  • What did you like most about the product?
Ease of use and viscosity.
  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?
I would recommend it as it removed the stains I used it on.
  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?
This was much easier and much more effective than previous Vanish and other products I have used.
  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?
It's not my first time buying Vanish products. This would encourage me to buy others if I required them for stain removal.
krisskross · 02/02/2018 14:25

I I used it on a wide range of baby food stains incl tomato sauce. I also used it in white school shirt neck grime.

The thing I liked most was that it worked, it got a wide range of stains out.

Yes I'd recommend to friends it was pretty effective.

It had a positive impact on stain removal.

I've used vanish in the past but not recently I would consider using their stuff again..

lostherenow · 02/02/2018 14:50
  • What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?
Black pen and mysterious food stains on my sons white polo shirts, mud from coats and trousers
  • What did you like most about the product?
Fresh smell, easy to use
  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why? Yes because its effective and not too messy
  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?
I have used power before which doesn't achieve very much or a rub on like soap but that requires rubbing in which sometimes damages the clothes
  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products? I would buy Vanish gel again yes
Treacletoots · 02/02/2018 14:54

What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove? Baby food, poo and adult food!

  • What did you like most about the product? The ease of use and smell, really nice and fresh
  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why? Possibly. It didn't quite remove all stains as expected
  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal? Improved over just detergent but not sure I would buy for the rrp
  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products. No. We already use other Vanish products i.e. carpet and upholstery cleaners and are pleased with the results
glitterglitters · 02/02/2018 15:08
  • What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove? We've just started baby led weaning with our youngest and our eldest has started nursery too. We've had dirt, chilli, the dreaded banana and even paint.
  • What did you like most about the product? It really works well. Some clothes from when we were weaning our eldest had got destroyed so we kept them by for weaning with our youngest but "not to go out" and they came out sparkling!
  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why? Absolutely, very rare to find a stain remover that works!
  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal? I was more inclined to just add it into the wash rather than spraying all the things. Made it a lot quicker.
  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products? Have used other vanish products in the past but often it can be a bit difficult and fiddly with powder but I'll definitely give them another try.
