*unhygienic stains!

And I forgot to say it got the horrible sweaty smell out of my husband's football top, which has lingered through countless washes, so much so that I was considering setting the fetid thing on fire.

It's a win for that alone.

  • What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?
General food stains but particularly chocolate sponge pudding!
  • What did you like most about the product?
My washing smelt lovely afterwards; got the chocolate stain out about 95% - enough that the white school polo shirt it adorned can at least be worn again! I have also used it as a general add in to washing that was just grubby rather than a specific stain and this came up well too.
  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why? -
yes, if it was well priced ( the Vanish powder is expensive)
  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?
I didn’t find it much easier or harder to use than Vanish powder. If you pour the liquid in the dispenser to then put on the stain, then you have to wash it out - I would recommend putting it straight from bottle onto stain.
  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?
Have used Vanish powder before but would buy this liquid again as it did a good job on daily grime!
MilkyMamma · 28/01/2018 21:51
  • What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?
Baby poo! Satsuma stains, mud
  • What did you like most about the product?
Innofensive smell, I was really surprised it didn’t smell really chemically like the powders do.
  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?
I would, it really was tough in stains.
  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?
It removes the stain completely, rather than needing a couple of goes!
  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products? No it’s not I have used it in the past but found this product a lot more convenient. I would consider buying this product.
melonpanini · 28/01/2018 23:02

What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?

Mostly food stains, but also poo stains, paint and felt tip pen stains.

  • What did you like most about the product?
It was easy to use, had a nice consistency, made our clothes smell lovely and was good at removing most stains.
  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?

I would because a lot of my friends and family have young kids like me and this is great because it's non bio, easy to use and effective.

  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?

It was more effective at removing stains especially poo stains from my little boy's baby vests.

  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?

I have used Vanish before but I didn't like it because I found it too watery and it didn't remove the stains that I wanted. But having tried this new Vanish I would now consider buying more of their products.

  • What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?

My little girl is always getting food stains on her clothes (she’s just turned one and meal times are very messy!). I used this on stains caused by tomatoes, strawberries, blueberries, avocado, broccoli and other foods like that.

  • What did you like most about the product?

I liked that it is non bio but still good at removing stains as I felt this was better for my little girls clothes as her skin if quite sensitive.

  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?

I would because it worked well, was easy to use and seemed gentle for my little girl’s skin.

  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?

I used it in the same way as I used Vanish before, however I used to wash the clothes on a quick wash after using the other vanish to remove any residue as my little girl’s skin is very sensitive.

  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?

No and I will consider buying it, in particular this product when it is available .

BarbiesPinkShoes23 · 28/01/2018 23:51

What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?

Mud from white shirts, felt tip pens, toddler food stains.

What did you like most about the product? It was pretty easy to use and it made my whites brighter.

Would you recommend this product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?

I probably would recommend as it's pretty effective.

Compared to what you did before, how did Vanish impact your stain removal? I've been using a product similar to Vanish gel but less effective.

Is this your first time using Vanish. If so who you now consider buying more of their products? No I've used Vanish products before. I think I would buy Vanish again. My only real issue was that it bleached my hands a little.

Bringmewineandcake · 29/01/2018 09:31

What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?

We went to a messy party so my kids clothes were covered in paint, spaghetti hoop juice, shaving foam, jelly!

  • What did you like most about the product?

It worked very well, easy to use, simple instructions.

  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?

Although the product was good, I was surprised that the bottle only contained 9 applications if you follow the recommended 100ml. I don’t think that’s very good value for money.

  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?

I normally use a powdered stain remover, the vanish product worked as well as my normal one so I was happy with the results.

  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?

No I’ve previously used the stain removal bar. I would consider Vanish products in the future at the right price.

malaguena · 29/01/2018 10:07
  • What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?
Baby poo, food, mud.
  • What did you like most about the product?
I agree with other posters that the smell is nice, not too strong. It does seem to work quite well and it is easy to use.
  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?
Yes I would, it does the job and Vanish is a reputable brand.
  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?
Vanish worked really well on 'fresh' stains on my children's clothes. I tried it on a mud stain I have been trying to get rid of for weeks and it reduced it, although it is still there. It is easier to use than the other products I use.
  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?
I have used several other Vanish products and generally like them, although this one seems more practical. I will continue buying their products.

What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?
school collars, mud/grass, paint, tomato sauce

  • What did you like most about the product?
much easier to pre-soak & spot clean than the granules.
  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?
It did seem to be more effective than the other vanish products i have used so i would tell people this even though it didn't remove them completely.
  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?
I pre-soaked school shirts as i do with the granules and it was more sccessful as removing collar grime, mud/grass stains. I used it as a spot cleaner on food/paint stains which had really good results.
  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?
I have used vanish before and think this is an improvement for cleaning stains
RubaDubMum89 · 29/01/2018 12:10
  • What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?

Anything and everything baby related : food, poo, sick, drool and general grime.

  • What did you like most about the product?

It actually smelled realy nice as opposed to some of the more chemical smelling stain removers. It didnt fade any of the clothings colours either, which has happened to me in the past when using different brands of stain remover.

  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?

Of all the stain removers I've tried, this one seemed to work really well. As mentioned, it didnt leave a strange chemically smell or fade colours and it did a good job on some of the more persistant stains - although they were not all removed completely, they were barely noticeable.

  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?

I don't want to sound daft, but, it actually got rid of the stains! I know that is the point of all stain removal, but, it is not always the case!

  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?

No, I've used the vanish powder carpet treatment before, but, that wasnt really very successful. I dont think I did it right!

MrsSamSmith · 29/01/2018 14:56

What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?

I used the vanish on vests, and loads of clothes, general food stains, tomato based being hardest to get off normally, plus poo!

  • What did you like most about the product?

It’s ease of use, grab and go.

  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?

Yes, easy to use a great stand by product that really does help

  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?

I have used a pre soak before but always forgot to do it and just lived with stains as being inevitable of having kids!

  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products
Wattonearth · 29/01/2018 16:04

Sorry for the delay in response waiting for some decent stains to really test!

  • What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?
Used for baby food spills... including carrot! Baby sick and poo and mud from forest school
  • What did you like most about the product?
It smelt quite pleasant and actually worked no more orange stains!!
  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?
Yes definitely because it actually works everything I used before just lessened stains but didn’t remove them whereas this product did. It is expensive though and a difficult to get a small amount out of the bottle so if this is improved I would highly recommend
  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?
It just worked! I pre treated most stubborn stains by pouring some on and rubbing it in with the lid and they came out of the washing machine clean
  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?
Yes it is I normally buy own brand as I find it expensive but this has made me realise its worth paying for as it works!
Nightfall1983 · 29/01/2018 16:24

I should start by admitting that I misunderstood what this product was when I applied for this test - I had thought it was laundry detergent and stain remover in one, that would be a useful product for us...

What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove? Blood (nose bleed), oil, dirt, baby poo - we live glamorous lives!
What did you like most about the product? Love that it is non-bio. DS has very sensitive skin plus environmental concerns mean that non-bio is a huge plus point for us.
Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why? Yes, especially if like us they have sensitive skin in the family
Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal? I can't honestly say it's much better than what we did before which was generally to soak with or without vanish powder. Being a liquid is slightly more convenient that the powder but at the same time takes up more space in the cupboard and I'm aware of increased transport fuels etc. However it did feel very convenient.
Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products? No, Vanish has always been our go-to stain remover.

ConfusedLlama · 29/01/2018 16:55

What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?
We used it on a "poonami" incident and my older child who decided to wear the spaghetti Bolognese instead of eating it, in her nice white school top Hmm . We put two of the vests in the wash one victim of the poonami, one not and I couldn't tell which was which when I got them out of the washer. It's amazing.

  • What did you like most about the product?
I love it, I wish I had it sooner as there were a couple of vests I chucked because I thought they were beyond saving.
  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?
I already have. I've been raving about its stain removing powers.
  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?
Before hand I was trying my best to scrub soak and wash bit it still had those familiar orangey yellow stains on the back (sometimes the front). With the vanish I pre treated then popped in the wash and it was done.
  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?
I've used the carpet stain remover before which was fantastic but not any washing products but I will definitely be buying some of this stuff!
fsouthwell · 29/01/2018 17:38

What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?
Gravy & beans! Also marker/paint on school shirts!

  • What did you like most about the product?
Smelled really fresh! And did a good job getting the stains out on a low heat.
  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?
Yes, because it works! It smells good and is gentle on skin!
  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?
I’ve not really used much other than vanish.
  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?
I’ve used the vanish oxy action before. Yes i would buy this product.
megjoe1 · 29/01/2018 18:22

  • What did you like most about the product?
It definitely had to be the smell, it was lovely.

I would not hesitate to recommend this product, it worked on every stain I tried it on without soaking, absolutely wonderful.

It definitely made washing easier and less stressful before I would have thrown stained clothes away if stains didn't come out.

Yes I haven't used Vanish before and I would definitely look out for more products I was really impressed.

  • What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?
Baby poo (ds waz having an explosive few days!) Blood, mud, food.
  • What did you like most about the product?
Smelt nice. It worked!
  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?

  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?
I used vanish liquid before - which worked most of the time but not always. This vanish worked everytime for me. It even got old some old stains that the vanish liquid hadn't.
  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?
First time using vanish in this form, I normally use the liquid but would definately consider buying this in future.
Fingermoose · 29/01/2018 19:26
  • What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?
Food stains - ketchup, bolognese sauce, chocolate. Also whiteboard marker stains from a yellow school top that had been there for weeks - nothing else had shifted it!
  • What did you like most about the product?
It got rid of said pen marks.
  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?
Yes, it worked really well and has not got a strong scent.
  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?
It's easier to use than powder.
  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?
I use the vanish carpet cleaner (we have a cat and two children under 6) and that's the most effective thing I've found for carpets. I'd definitely try more of their products.
TeddyIsaHe · 30/01/2018 07:18
  1. I used it on a variety of food stains, poop and mud.
  1. That is can be used as both a pre-treatment and in wash, very handy to have one product to do both.
  1. I would! It smells amazing, I feel like it’s not so harsh on clothes or skin and it is pretty good at getting stains out, which is the important thing!
  1. Before I’d stick the wash in with a powder stain remover, grumble massively about the stains still be there and spend a fortune on replacing clothes that were ruined. Now I just whip them off my grubby child as soon as they’re dirty, pre-treat and stick them in with the next wash. And they actually come out clean.
  1. It isn’t my first time using vanish, but I typically buy cheaper products (that don’t work so well). I will be buying this product when it’s on shelves. It’s saving me money in the long run not having to replace ruined clothes, so definitely worth the slightly extra expense.
StillNoFuckingEyeDeer · 30/01/2018 07:53

  • What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?
Tomato sauce, chocolate, felt tip pen.
  • What did you like most about the product?
That it can be used in-wash, which is most convenient for us.
  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?
Yes, I was impressed with how it coped with stains on whites and pale colours.
  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?

It was very simple and much more effective.

  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?

I've tried their spray on stain remover before. I would consider buying more of their products.

Anusia86 · 31/01/2018 10:10

I tried to remove baby food, crayons stain and some markers stain and some mudd.

Easy to use, no nasty smell.

I would recommend it to my friend.

This time I was sure that using Vanish will be safe for my baby, before had to wash 2 times to make sure it will be safe on delicate skin.

I used Vanish before but never nin-bio, now I am going to buy this one as it works on stains and it is delicate for my babies skin.

Youvegotafriendinme · 31/01/2018 13:23

What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?
Poo, tomatoe sauce, coke, curry, tea
- What did you like most about the product?
The smell is very pleasant and doesn’t smell like normal stain remover. It’s easier to use and doesn’t make a mess
- Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?
Unfortunately I didn’t think this product was any better or worse than getting our stains than other products I’ve tried, including other vanish products so as much as I wouldn’t recommend it, I wouldn’t tell people not to buy it. It did get out poo but this was washed straight after the stain happening so didn’t have time to sit in the fabric. I tried to get coke out of a white t shirt and tried all 3 ways suggested on the bottle and it’s still there.

- Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?
I used this product all three ways it could be used and I don’t think I’ll be trying it again.

Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?
No, I’ve tried a couple of other types of vanish products. This was much easier and smelt lovely but now I definitely won’t be buying them any more or trying other products again

witheringnights · 31/01/2018 15:24
  • What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?
Baby poo, food, tomato sauce, old unknown stains!
  • What did you like most about the product?
I used it in with my normal wash, so super easy to use
  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?
Yes- because the stains came out/washing was clean on a short and low temp cycle
  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?
It was a lot easier, so I use it more- and so the kids’ clothes will last longer!
  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?
I’ve used other vanish products before. This was easier.
