What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?

Orange juice, yoghurt, mud, baked beans, vomit

What did you like most about the product?

Can be used to pre-treat, soak or in-wash. Also that it is non-bio.

Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?

Definitely! It removed all of the stains above.

Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?

It has given me more options in how to tackle the stains. It was also very easy to use. I used it in-wash when washing an old pair of grubby white converse, and they came out as good as new without any effort. I added it to my whites wash and felt that they came out looking brighter. It's a versatile product.

Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?

I have used vanish products before and it continues to be a brand that I trust.

What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?
I used this to remove vomit, mostly, as norovirus swept through our house the day after I got the product.

  • What did you like most about the product?
The consistency and the vanish smell.
  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?
Yes. It was thick, so slow to pour, which I really liked. It removed stains, and made the sheets and clothes really clean. It was excellent, and so easy to add to a wash.
  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?
I do use vanish in other forms. I prefer d the liquid, though, as the powder I usually use sometimes seems to stay grainy in the wash.
  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?
I already buy their product. I would buy this, though, because of it being non- bio and my girls both have sensitive skin. Also, the ease of adding it to a wash was excellent.

Baby food from my toddler, most days clothes get food on.
  • What did you like most about the product?
Easy to measure, my washing came out looking very clean.
  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?
I haven't had much time to try it out and would like to give it a go on tomato stains, but so far if someone asked about it I would probably say it's fine.

I didn't notice a massive difference, but there were no food stains. It's a good thing to have in the cupboard and I'm sure I'll use it again.

I have the carpet/upholstery products, which are good, but I usually buy own brand versions of Vanish. I would consider buying the brand again.

  • With 5 very messy kids aged 2-10 I mainly used it on nursery/school paint on white polo tops, mud from football and lots of bean/spaghetti sauce, oh and blood that had been on the knee of a pair of pants for weeks that no other stain remover could get out but this Did !!!.

-I loved the smell it left clothes smelling twice as nice with my detergent and I loved the size of it as its perfect for my big family as I do a lot of washing about 6 loads everyday Single day.

-Yes I would recommend it because it's the only stain remover that I've ever found that actually removes the stain and not just fades it to a horrible grey stain after using it. It removed every single stain I tried it on including on white polo tops which are the Bain of my life or staining.

  • I normally rewash the clothes several times with stain remover by rubbing it on the stain, leaving it to soak in water and stain remover but with this Vanish I didn't have to and could just throw it in with my wash so it gave me a break from scrubbing clothes in the sink and made everything 10times quicker !Grin
  • I haven't used this before but I will be 100 % stocking up on it as it will save me loads of money by not having to throw clothes away that are stained because that's a lot of clothes and a lot of money wasted when there is 5 kids.

  • What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?

Food, including tomato sauce and Bolognase, and mud

  • What did you like most about the product?

Easy to use and gorgeous smell

  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?

Yes, was excellent at doing the job.

  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?

The other stain products I have used have been very good but this one was the best. It removed a stain from a white polo shirt that would not previously have been completely removed.

  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?

No I have used several other Vanish products and this is just another asset to their brand. I will always buy Vanish products and would definitely buy this product if reasonably priced.

  • What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?

I used it in a general wash of muddy clothes from the whole family. Also used it to pre treat baby and toddler clothes and bibs which were full of tomato based food stains.

  • What did you like most about the product?

I like the fact it can be used in a few different ways. Pre scrub, soak or just bunged in the wash. It also had a really lovely fresh clean smell.

  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?

I would recommend this to friends/family with small children especially. The bib stains which usually never come out straight away were like new. Took all the food stains out with ease whilst not seeming too harsh for the skin of little ones.

  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?

Took the stains out easily, especially scrubbing the stains before putting them in the wash. Plus using it this way and you don't need to use as much of the product. This way it will last longer as the amount to have to use to put straight in the wash is a lot more than a pre scrub.

  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?

I've used vanish products in the past and tend to buy them when on offer. So yes I would stock up if on offer. There is never ending stains in this house with small children. The cost of the vanish will be an investment bearing in mind the amount of clothes that end up in the bin due to stubborn stains.

Thanks for letting me take part in this product test.

  • What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?
Poo, tinned spaghetti sauce, paint from school t shirts (and curry but that was DH not the kids)
  • What did you like most about the product?
You can put it directly in the machine not just on the stains so it won't matter so much if you forget/miss a stain. Plus it actually worked (always a bonus!)
  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?
Yes, for friends with kids as its quick and easy to just put it in the machine.
  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?
Much the same - bad stains pre treated with this instead of spray. It's slightly more fiddly to pre treat with the gel though.
  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?
No, I've used Vanish spray and have used the carpet/upholstery cleaner also. I often purchase when on offer.
piraterach · 24/01/2018 09:57

- What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove? Baby poonami stains and mushed carrot from a failed attempt at making baby purée

-What did you like most about the product? It smells lovely but I most like that it is an in wash stain remover. I barely have time to put the washer on let alone stand scrubbing stains before they go in the wash!

-Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? Definitely! I've got a few friends with new babies and a whole baby group full of new mums looking for a stain remover that actually works.

-Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal? I had tried scrubbing at my clothes and putting bleach on the stains but I didn't want to do that on babies clothes as I was worried about her skin. This being non-bio was perfect.

-Is this your first time using Vanish? No, I've used Vanish gold gel and bar before but wanted to try an in wash remover.

What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?
Coffee, pen, mud, vomit, mildew

What did you like most about the product?
It smells nice; I like that you can put the cap straight in with the washing

Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member?
Honestly, no. It got the coffee out but nothing else. I'm really disappointed; I had high hopes based on other people's comments.

Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?
Nothing. Because it didn't work.
Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?

Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?
No; I usually put a scoop of Gold in with whites and use the gel as necessary. I won't be buying more, I'm afraid, and will look at alternatives.

  1. Baby poo, tomato sauce stains and poo stains from my son with special needs.
  1. It was easy to use.
  1. It was effective at removing stains, easy to use and I like the smell, so yes I would recommend it.
  1. It made the process easier for me and I think gave more effective stain removal.
  1. I have used Vanish before and this would now be my go to brand.
BinglyBinglyBeep · 24/01/2018 12:49

Used on food stains. No opportunity to try on baby poo yet!
I really liked this product. It didn't seem as chemically as others. It easily got rid of blueberry stains in white clothes without soaking or pre-treating, just chucked some Vanish in the wash.
I would definitely recommend to friends.
I usually use Vanish powder to pre-soak stains. The gel looks like it will help me skip a step if it is as good on other stains!

justtowarm · 24/01/2018 13:44
  • What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?

Mainly lots and lots of mushed in food, leaked nappy stains on clothes and bedding, paint, outside dirt on trouser knees (not just mud general grime).

  • What did you like most about the product?

I like the smell and how easy it was to use.
We struggle with nappies leaking over night that stain our toddlers bedding but this worked so well! Normally we have to soak overnight or wash twice even with stain remover but with this the stains were gone :)

  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?

Yes I would recommend to family and friends but would be carful recommending to those on a tight budget as I have noticed vanish products can be expensive at times. Yet for those not on a budget clearly it works really well so I would recommend to them.

  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?

This was much easier to use. Before I would have to soak soiled sheets and at time was them twice following that. This was much simpler.

  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?

No it’s not my first time I have used the powdered stain remover and carpet cleaner. But I would use those products again and this when it is available.

guardbabe21 · 24/01/2018 14:16

What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?

Toddler poo and food stains.

  • What did you like most about the product?

I liked how easy the product was to use. The product also smelt really nice and fresh and clean.

  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?

I would recommend the product to family and friends especially if they had a small baby. I think it is easy to use and could be used in your wash easy enough. Althought i would recommend that they just use it to hand wash or as a pre treatment.

  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?

Using the product as a pre treatment it got rid of the stains. But unfortunately when i used it straight in my wash it did not remove the stains so i had to pre treat and re wash the stained clothes. Which i did previously anyway. So i was hoping this would mean that i could throw clothes straight in the washing machine and it would remove the stains but this unfortunetly didnt happen so will have to continue to pre treat the stained clothes.

  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?

I use the vanish rub on pre treatment currently and i have always found that it has got the stains out so i will continue to buy that. It is more effective than the product the nonbio gel fabric stain remover that i just tried so i will be going back to that.

SnugglySnerd · 24/01/2018 14:51

I used it mainly on food stains including spag bol, curry and gravy. Also on mud. It worked well in food but hasn't completely shifted the mud.

I liked that it works quite well and can be applied directly. However unlike others I didn't like the smell. I have 2 children with eczema so try to avoid scented laundry products.

I might recommend it but I have found cheap own-brand stain removers to be as effective so I would probably recommend those.

I have used Vanish before but not for many years. I probably would consider using it.

IHATEPeppaPig · 24/01/2018 15:12
  • What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?

I'm currently weaning my baby doing BLW and my clothes for the same reason.

  • What did you like most about the product?

It was easy to use - I loved that you could put it in the washing machine and go. It was perfect for me as the amount of clothes I go through is astonishing.

  • Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?

Yes, because it does exactly what it is meant to do first time.

  • Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?

I've used own brand products previously and I have had to wash them a few times (and soak them) before the stains faded - whereas this worked first time.

  • Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?

Yes and yes - even though it is more expensive than previous products used, it worked first time and that it worth the money.

Mummyh2016 · 24/01/2018 15:44

Majority of strains were baby poo however we are in the middle of weaning so also some food stains including raspberries and tomato soup. Also tried it on white socks that had had better days.

It was easy to use, when pretreating you don’t leave it on for ages which was good, as there’s nothing worse than being ready to put a wash on to find you have to pretreat a stained item for 12 hours beforehand. This was 10 minutes max then straight in.

Definitely recommend as a lot of the baby poo/food stains weren’t coming out so I was throwing a lot of clothes away. Not had to throw one thing away since using the vanish, clothes are as good as new.

Like above, I was throwing most stained items away as normal detergent wasn’t touching it. Vanish is like magic!

It is my first time using Vanish however my mum has always swore by it, now I understand all the hype! Will definitely be picking this up next time I go shopping!

poopoopoo · 24/01/2018 15:56

What were some of the types of stains you used this product to remove?
Mango from a food pouch that my little one likes to chuck about when he's finished.
Gravy from when he fed himself roast dinner,
Orange from snacking on fresh orange pieces.

- What did you like most about the product?
It has a nice smell, and was a good consistency for pouring.

- Would you recommend the product to a friend and/or family member? If so why?
Yes, I have recommended it to a friend who also has a little boy who likes to make a mess! becuase it helps keep their clothes looking nice.

- Compared to what you did before, how did using Vanish impact your stain removal?
I did not use a stain remover before as I was worried about it irritating my sons skin. Now I can use one and keep him looking smart.

- Is this your first time using Vanish? If so would you now consider buying more of their products?
I have used the normal stain remover on my older children's clothes.
But it is now easier to use the one for everyone's clothes.
