This is the feedback thread for the 15 Mumsnetters who tried two of AEG’s new washing machines and one of their tumble dryers!

There is also a question for non-testers - see bottom of the post!

Here’s what AEG has to say about each of the products:

PRO STEAM WASHING MACHINE
"Introducing the sharp shirt protector: Maintaining your professional look day to day should be effortless. Our ProSteam® Technology means that your shirts look sharp for longer by enabling you to reduce creases by up to one third. Cutting down on dry-cleaning and ironing means less wear on fibres. Keeping your clothes looking and feeling impeccable, every day.

SOFT WATER WASHING MACHINE
It’s the little black dress guardian: Imagine a washing machine that you can trust to keep your colours as vibrant and blacks as bold as the day you bought them. At last, there is no need to compromise performance for care. Because for the first time ever, you’ll achieve the thorough clean of a 60-degree wash at just 30 degrees. Maintaining the colour, shape and feel of every garment. Wash after wash. It’s more than a washing machine. It’s the guardian of your clothes.

ABSOLUTECARE TUMBLE DRYER
It’s the wool sweater guardian: Now you can tumble dry everything you wash. From the softest wool sweater to an everyday business shirt or ski jacket. Dryers with the AbsoluteCare® System have tailored programming to precisely control the movement and temperature of the drying cycle. Preventing shrinkage. Maintaining shape. Restoring waterproofing. Redefining tumble drying for every fabric in your wardrobe. Comparable with flat drying of wool.”

The best feature on my washing machine is the pause/reload button.
So useful when I discover after a wash has started that I've dropped a sock etc. on the way to the machine or forgotten to add a tea towel.

mclarkie · 23/11/2017 18:23

Non-tester, The spin setting I find so useful

BRILLBY · 23/11/2017 18:25

I have an AEG machine and love the 9kg drum but couldn't do without the quick wash function.

Brandypie · 23/11/2017 18:28

Non-tester: quick wash cycle, I wouldn't buy a machine that didn't have this function. Time saving is a must.

jollygoose · 23/11/2017 18:32

well I am a non tester but my year old AEG dishwasher is a very POOR design. Although it works perfectly well the button controls are plastic on two occasions now they have fallen out thus making the machine unusable. We are currently waiting for the engineer to replace the push button for the second time (this has taken about 10 days. We are now thinking we will have to renew the warranty as it will certainly happen again.
Our new AEG kitchen has in the last year had to have an engineer for the oven, sometimes it worked sometimes it didn`t it took two visits by engineer to work out that the thermostat kept slipping out.
Then there was the extractor fan under one year old and needed a new motor.
We thought we were buying a better class of product but I would most definitely not recommend.

dul4hw · 23/11/2017 18:35

The 60 minutes wash, I use it for everything.

mo3733 · 23/11/2017 18:49

voyager50 · 23/11/2017 18:56

The express 15 minute wash - when something has a spillage on it that you know won't come out unlesss you wash it immediately - it goes in on its own on the express!

SSCRASE123 · 23/11/2017 18:58

Non-Tester - Quick washes and half load settings. Hate to waste energy and water on a half wash.

beelzebomb · 23/11/2017 19:02

non tester - being able to briefly stop cycle to add that sock I dropped on the stairs!

katieskatie82 · 23/11/2017 19:04

ThemisA · 23/11/2017 19:14

Non-tester - time delay and eco wash are great. We are lucky enough to have solar panels so I can time it to wash during peak light hours.

Spices001 · 23/11/2017 19:21

The short cycle is a godsend!

Hertsgirl75 · 23/11/2017 19:22

Best feature is the 30 degree 30 min daily wash.

Funkyferret · 23/11/2017 19:44

Non-tester. I couldn't live without the fast wash programme. Perfect for spill disasters, cheaper,, all done in less time (obviously) and a bit more environmentally friendly.

Catmadroo · 23/11/2017 19:51

Non tester - 30 min wash is a must

spottypjs · 23/11/2017 20:01

Teresa11 · 23/11/2017 20:11

The quick wash setting - which is about 20mins altogether including the spin. All the other settings take at least 50mins

ggjacks · 23/11/2017 20:15

The timer, I set it for when I get home from work so it's all fresh!

cocochips · 23/11/2017 20:17

sammylea80 · 23/11/2017 20:20

alsproject · 23/11/2017 20:22
