This is the feedback thread for the 15 Mumsnetters who tried two of AEG’s new washing machines and one of their tumble dryers!

There is also a question for non-testers - see bottom of the post!

Here’s what AEG has to say about each of the products:

PRO STEAM WASHING MACHINE
"Introducing the sharp shirt protector: Maintaining your professional look day to day should be effortless. Our ProSteam® Technology means that your shirts look sharp for longer by enabling you to reduce creases by up to one third. Cutting down on dry-cleaning and ironing means less wear on fibres. Keeping your clothes looking and feeling impeccable, every day.

SOFT WATER WASHING MACHINE
It’s the little black dress guardian: Imagine a washing machine that you can trust to keep your colours as vibrant and blacks as bold as the day you bought them. At last, there is no need to compromise performance for care. Because for the first time ever, you’ll achieve the thorough clean of a 60-degree wash at just 30 degrees. Maintaining the colour, shape and feel of every garment. Wash after wash. It’s more than a washing machine. It’s the guardian of your clothes.

ABSOLUTECARE TUMBLE DRYER
It’s the wool sweater guardian: Now you can tumble dry everything you wash. From the softest wool sweater to an everyday business shirt or ski jacket. Dryers with the AbsoluteCare® System have tailored programming to precisely control the movement and temperature of the drying cycle. Preventing shrinkage. Maintaining shape. Restoring waterproofing. Redefining tumble drying for every fabric in your wardrobe. Comparable with flat drying of wool.”

I couldn't live without the delicate setting on my washing machine, as most of my husbands clothes tend to shrink extremely easily and this is the only setting that doesn't shrink them

Narnianescape · 23/11/2017 15:46

non-tester: the variety of settings.

sarahbrokenshire · 23/11/2017 15:47

The quick wash as sometimes you need it! x

The on/off button ! Because that is basically all I use.Everything gets washed on the same program here ! :-D

Dormouse1940 · 23/11/2017 16:00

Non tester here:

Love the 30 degree 'quick wash'- perfect for when things aren't really soiled or dirty but need a freshen up. Takes hardly anytime and better for the environment too! :)

Ferryfairy · 23/11/2017 16:04

I use the 30 degree cycle a lot, very economical and environmentally friendly

asuwere · 23/11/2017 16:08

Non-tester my favourite feature on my washing machine is the quick wash (29mins), I use it daily. Also like the timer which shows how long till its finished.

ren999 · 23/11/2017 16:15

Non-tester: I could not live without the 20 min quick wash on my washing machine! My son often comes home from school with his filthy PE kit in his smelly sports bag which he quickly bungs under his bed. Then, next morning he will calmly inform me that he has PE again that day and can I wash his kit! Luckily with the 20 min wash and a tumble dryer we manage this most mornings!

tia3456 · 23/11/2017 16:17

I am a non tester and it would have to be the quick wash that is my one thing I cannot be without on my washing machine

Lisapaige24 · 23/11/2017 16:18

NON TESTER

I could not live without my quick wash it’s a life saver if I have forgotten to wash something needed for that very day especially the kids PE kits they have forgotten to put in the washing basket I can put it on the quick wash and then straight into the tumble dryer ready for them to take to school fresh and clean

StandUnderMyUmbrella · 23/11/2017 16:19

The pause button....i'm forever forgetting or finding odd socks lying around and try and add them in the wash before the water fills up!

AnimalAddict · 23/11/2017 16:32

Definitely the quick wash setting, it's so handy and I don't have to wait for ages! :)

Squina1 · 23/11/2017 16:37

Definitely the speed wash option, as, with four children, I rarely have time to wait for a longer programme.

IonaAilidh11 · 23/11/2017 16:47

I LOVE that there is a short wash, at only 30 minutes long. That's fab when you're short of time with a 4 month old baby!

pazanne · 23/11/2017 17:12

the quick wash setting

veegstez · 23/11/2017 17:18

we use a fairly quick wash (45minsish i think) but you can change the temp - 30, 40 or 60 so we use it for everything.

TDHManchester · 23/11/2017 17:31

AEG ? Crap. They aren't German and the original AEG brand went out of business years ago. Electrolux bought the brand name and badge some ranges as AEG so that they can charge more for them. Bought an AEG condenser drier a while back and it died after 14 months. Electrolux didnt want to know...crap

madge47 · 23/11/2017 17:34

Non-Tester I love the quick wash

towser44 · 23/11/2017 17:45

The quick wash. Perfect for when the weatherman has the forecast wrong and it's a great drying day but you haven't put a load round in advance!

Minnibix · 23/11/2017 17:47

Non-Tester, I love the 20 mins quick wash option

MrsKnightley · 23/11/2017 17:52

Non tester.

I have just bought a new washing machine and love the range of options including quick wash and the fact it weighs the load.

I love the sound of a dryer that allows you to dry without shrinking wool. We need a dryer in the next few months so I am reading with interest. We live in a very wet part of the UK so line drying is a rare thing.

maisiesnan · 23/11/2017 18:05

Non tester, I couldn't do without the quick wash
