This is the feedback thread for the 15 Mumsnetters who tried two of AEG’s new washing machines and one of their tumble dryers!

There is also a question for non-testers - see bottom of the post!

Here’s what AEG has to say about each of the products:

PRO STEAM WASHING MACHINE
"Introducing the sharp shirt protector: Maintaining your professional look day to day should be effortless. Our ProSteam® Technology means that your shirts look sharp for longer by enabling you to reduce creases by up to one third. Cutting down on dry-cleaning and ironing means less wear on fibres. Keeping your clothes looking and feeling impeccable, every day.

SOFT WATER WASHING MACHINE
It’s the little black dress guardian: Imagine a washing machine that you can trust to keep your colours as vibrant and blacks as bold as the day you bought them. At last, there is no need to compromise performance for care. Because for the first time ever, you’ll achieve the thorough clean of a 60-degree wash at just 30 degrees. Maintaining the colour, shape and feel of every garment. Wash after wash. It’s more than a washing machine. It’s the guardian of your clothes.

ABSOLUTECARE TUMBLE DRYER
It’s the wool sweater guardian: Now you can tumble dry everything you wash. From the softest wool sweater to an everyday business shirt or ski jacket. Dryers with the AbsoluteCare® System have tailored programming to precisely control the movement and temperature of the drying cycle. Preventing shrinkage. Maintaining shape. Restoring waterproofing. Redefining tumble drying for every fabric in your wardrobe. Comparable with flat drying of wool.”

Non-tester: I couldn't live without the quick wash cycle.

libra101 · 24/11/2017 06:20

Non tester. My ancient 12-year old Bosch is so reliable and has never let me down in all the years it's been doing the laundry. It has none of the features that modern machines have these days.

However, AEGs ÖKOMix technology sounds innovative, and this feature would ensure that laundry would be thoroughly cleaned. A feature I haven't seen on other washing machines, and it sounds like a feature that would be essential for family laundry.

glmcall123 · 24/11/2017 06:24

Non-tester, I couldn't live without the quick wash function on my machine.

tompob · 24/11/2017 06:35

best feature for us is the timer, fill up and set before bed and in the morning washing done before the days washing begins

I couldn’t live without the Duvet Wash setting on my Becko machine.

createbeauty · 24/11/2017 08:35

Non-tester: The quick wash! Sometimes I just need to wash a couple items of clothing quickly and this is a life-saver.

The feature I like best on my old, very old, AEG washing machine is the Quick Wash option on most cycles which I use most of the time. It is so old but keeps on going, even though I've been saying it's on its way out for years! I definitely will be buying another when it does finally expire.

allibaby · 24/11/2017 09:09

Definitely the quick wash feature, 30 minutes and it's done and clothes come out lovely and clean....it also helps me save on my electric bills.

I could not do with out my timer on my machine. it helps me manage my washing a little better for it to come on at less expensive times of the day

snare · 24/11/2017 10:15

Non-tester - the quick wash is invaluable :)

The quick wash as I use it all the time.
Also the spin only option. Not used so often but absolutely vital on occasions.

I couldn't live without the sports intensive because my children are attracted to stain prone foods Grin

what couldn't I do without on my washing machine...?

the economic (59 min) cycle, still a full cycle but much quicker.

ps. what do I wish my washing machine didn't have...?
A noisy end-of-cycle alarm that is the most irritating thing in the WORLD

AR2012 · 24/11/2017 11:23

Non Tester: quick wash cycle allows me to get more loads done.

jen1984j · 24/11/2017 12:37

Non tester - my quick wash cycle is great when im in a rush

laurapotz · 24/11/2017 13:01

I couldn't do without the 'mixed fabrics' setting on my washing machine - I'm a 'bung it all in together' kind of girl!

sm2012 · 24/11/2017 14:04

Non-tester - the simplicty of all the settings. Mine's quite an old machine and when I see friends newer (more complicated) machines I feel quite thankful!

myboycraig · 24/11/2017 14:17

non-tester quick wash is a blessing

I wouldn't be without the wool cycle on my machine. I hate hand washing lots of woolly jumpers and cardigans, so this is a must-have.

beckyinman · 24/11/2017 15:26

Non-tester: I really want one of those washing machines that has a flap at the front that you can pop more things in. I'm always setting a wash off then finding one more thing that needs to go in!

Sloppychops · 24/11/2017 16:55

I couldn't live without the quick cycle on my washing machine. It means I can get a few loads done in one day.
