This is the feedback thread for the 15 Mumsnetters who tried two of AEG’s new washing machines and one of their tumble dryers!

There is also a question for non-testers - see bottom of the post!

Here’s what AEG has to say about each of the products:

PRO STEAM WASHING MACHINE
"Introducing the sharp shirt protector: Maintaining your professional look day to day should be effortless. Our ProSteam® Technology means that your shirts look sharp for longer by enabling you to reduce creases by up to one third. Cutting down on dry-cleaning and ironing means less wear on fibres. Keeping your clothes looking and feeling impeccable, every day.

SOFT WATER WASHING MACHINE
It’s the little black dress guardian: Imagine a washing machine that you can trust to keep your colours as vibrant and blacks as bold as the day you bought them. At last, there is no need to compromise performance for care. Because for the first time ever, you’ll achieve the thorough clean of a 60-degree wash at just 30 degrees. Maintaining the colour, shape and feel of every garment. Wash after wash. It’s more than a washing machine. It’s the guardian of your clothes.

ABSOLUTECARE TUMBLE DRYER
It’s the wool sweater guardian: Now you can tumble dry everything you wash. From the softest wool sweater to an everyday business shirt or ski jacket. Dryers with the AbsoluteCare® System have tailored programming to precisely control the movement and temperature of the drying cycle. Preventing shrinkage. Maintaining shape. Restoring waterproofing. Redefining tumble drying for every fabric in your wardrobe. Comparable with flat drying of wool.”

Sorry for delay, here's my update!
I think it's working! Hurrah! Clothes are definitely getting much softer, more noticeable on some clothes than others - but now can feel all my clothes are getting softer than before. Sadly no help with the towels (yet!), but maybe they are just too far beyond redemption! I think setting the right water hardness is important so if you buy this machine, use the water hardness tester that comes with the machine as this showed that my water was harder than the water company's website said it was.
I reported before that my OKOpower wash was 1hr 21mins instead of 59mins, and it turns out that this was because I had "Soft Plus" selected (think the installer must have done this!) - Soft Plus is meant to distribute the fabric softener more evenly and therefore make it work better - without this the wash time is 59mins. I've kept this on for now as my washing needs all the help it can get, although I haven't tried it without yet! This wash seems to wash things well and is obviously very quick which is great, and does a heavier load than most quick washes.
I have to say that I found the above out through Mumsnet though - I received no response from AEG customer services which is pretty poor. Sort out your customer services AEG!
I said I would report back on the 20 min cycle which works well too and washing comes out clean although you can only wash a mini load.
All-in-all I much prefer this machine to my Miele which I will be selling. I have also ordered a new AEG dryer to go with my washing machine in the hope this will finally mean the end of my hard towels!
Thanks again Mumsnet for selecting me.

I thought I would update my review for anyone interested. The machine is now nearly 2 years old. I was so impressed with it I went on to buy the matching tumble drier which cost £900.

So far so good. However, my washing machine has now broken. And all I can say is DO NOT BUY AEG. I have spent 3 hours on the phone today trying to organise a warranty repair. Their service provider doesn't answer the phone and when I finally got through to them cannot attend for nearly 2 weeks for an initial appointment. We all know they won't be able to repair on one visit as they will need to order parts.

A quick look on their own Facebook page and trustpilot shows numerous others in the same boat.

In the meantime my laundry pile is getting bigger and bigger.
