This is the feedback thread for the 15 Mumsnetters who tried two of AEG’s new washing machines and one of their tumble dryers!

There is also a question for non-testers - see bottom of the post!

Here’s what AEG has to say about each of the products:

PRO STEAM WASHING MACHINE
"Introducing the sharp shirt protector: Maintaining your professional look day to day should be effortless. Our ProSteam® Technology means that your shirts look sharp for longer by enabling you to reduce creases by up to one third. Cutting down on dry-cleaning and ironing means less wear on fibres. Keeping your clothes looking and feeling impeccable, every day.

SOFT WATER WASHING MACHINE
It’s the little black dress guardian: Imagine a washing machine that you can trust to keep your colours as vibrant and blacks as bold as the day you bought them. At last, there is no need to compromise performance for care. Because for the first time ever, you’ll achieve the thorough clean of a 60-degree wash at just 30 degrees. Maintaining the colour, shape and feel of every garment. Wash after wash. It’s more than a washing machine. It’s the guardian of your clothes.

ABSOLUTECARE TUMBLE DRYER
It’s the wool sweater guardian: Now you can tumble dry everything you wash. From the softest wool sweater to an everyday business shirt or ski jacket. Dryers with the AbsoluteCare® System have tailored programming to precisely control the movement and temperature of the drying cycle. Preventing shrinkage. Maintaining shape. Restoring waterproofing. Redefining tumble drying for every fabric in your wardrobe. Comparable with flat drying of wool.”

For me the best feature is a good economy rating. I'm always aware of how many washes I do and that it is using lots of electric so I like to think I'm careful with the costs!

MimiJoy · 23/11/2017 14:20

I like the "speed" (economy) setting, which shortens your wash. I use it all the time.

prwilson · 23/11/2017 14:21

Definitely the quick wash cycles.

littlemonkeyz · 23/11/2017 14:22

How do I get to be a tester? I'm a non-tester obviously. I couldn't live without my hand-wash feature as I have a lot of wool thermals and jumpers and hate hand washing them.

mrsdeedow · 23/11/2017 14:31

The quick wash feature, we regularly forget to clean my sons school top and it's the only one he will wear so without that we'd be up all night cleaning and drying it

southernsun · 23/11/2017 14:31

Non Tester.

Quick wash, the amount of times we discover we need a clean school jumper or pe kit which hasn't been washed.

socat · 23/11/2017 14:35

NON TESTER

Quick time save wash.

vonniebab2 · 23/11/2017 14:36

Non tester I love the quick wash on my machine so handy when i don't want a full wash

cuppawithbiccies · 23/11/2017 14:38

non-tester - the quick wash - the other settings only get used occasionally

hiddenmichelle · 23/11/2017 14:43

Non tester - the quick wash I have on my Samsung washing machine is a godsend - I love it and would really miss it now.

sofieellis · 23/11/2017 14:43

Non-tester:

I couldn't cope without my machine's 15 minute quick-wash function - it's a life-saver when the kids announce they need something washed to go out that day.

maryandbuzz1 · 23/11/2017 14:47

We love the delayed start button allowing the machine to do its work while we are asleep meaning we save on electricity.

For me, its the special washes for 'Shirts' and 'Hand wash' that i like. Not new, but they are essential to me.

alabaster002 · 23/11/2017 14:50

Half load for me!

janeyf1 · 23/11/2017 14:50

non tester - I couldn't deal without the fast wash option. Half an hour is long enough to wait

katkatgu · 23/11/2017 14:52

Non-tester: a drier without a doubt

sheilads105 · 23/11/2017 14:54

As a non-tester I would say it is the Quick Wash feature that I couldn't live without - perfect for a quick freshen up of so many bits of clothing. Essential.

KAKADU2001 · 23/11/2017 14:55

It would have to be the quick 35 wash cycle or the very fast spinning speed. The fast spinning speed is great for getting clothes fairly dry.

daisyduck123 · 23/11/2017 14:56

Non Tester. I like the 30 minute wash on my machine.. great for a quick turnover and freshen up.

shellywkd · 23/11/2017 15:10

Non - tester. The quick wash setting as my daughter very often says last thing at night oh I need something for school tomorrow.

angiehoggett · 23/11/2017 15:22

Non-testers: I like the fact I have a big range of settings to choose from

jelleng · 23/11/2017 15:23

My 1200 spin cycle, it's difficult to dry clothes living in a flat and a great spin makes all the difference.

lotte321 · 23/11/2017 15:25

NON-TESTER

I have a Zanussi. I couldn't live without the timer facility. Allows me to do a wash in the middle of the night whilst on cheap rate electricity!

ChocolateCake1 · 23/11/2017 15:27

Non-Tester - i couldn’t live with the quick wash for when I’ve forgotten to put something in the wash that someone in the household needs that day, in less than 30 minutes it’s washed, popped in the dryer and ready to wear.
