Rosehips · 09/09/2017 11:33

Not amusing to me but i'm often seen pushing an empty pushchair with a grumpy toddler on my hip

MTBMummy · 09/09/2017 12:50

Non Tester - DD at the top of her lungs "why has that lady got a big tiger on her bum?" Said when a slightly larger lady climbed onto the bus in tiger print leggings - I have never wanted so much to be invisible...

annmariec · 09/09/2017 14:58

Non tester. Mummy gone the wrong way. A lot!

molly57 · 09/09/2017 20:31

My youngest son who is now a man saw his grandma getting dressed. On seeing her bare chest by mistake he asked "When will I get big bellies like you?"

bex552 · 09/09/2017 20:45

My daughter calls bras booby masks so she always say "Look mummy booby masks like yours" whenever we go past the lingerie section in shops!

clarabella12 · 09/09/2017 21:28

my son used to make a pig noise as he liked peppa pig, the looks passerbys gave was hysterical.

Gill81uk · 09/09/2017 22:00

Non tester - nothing especially funny come to mind for my two, but I will never forget my first experience shopping with a pushchair with my young cousin. We walked out of Oasis and I looked down to see her holding out her finger, wearing and admiring a beautiful ring that she had picked up!! We hurried her back in and put it back!

Jocelynne123 · 09/09/2017 22:01

Non-tester) My daughter would find it hilarious to climb into other peoples buggies instead of hers. I have no idea why xx

MrsKevo · 09/09/2017 22:14

We were returning home from the Post Office in the buggy and we saw some of our neighbours out back tinkering with their quad bike (are nice chaps, have known them for years). My tot waved and shouted 'He-looooo....' which I though was lovely until she added (still in ear shot) '...POOPS!!' Suffice to say I was mortified, and hurried off!

VickyRsuperstar · 09/09/2017 23:27

On a day out in her buggy, my small daughter found out how to blow raspberries and after some people laughed at her, she spent the entire day making loud raspberry noises behind people on the bus and train and giggling when they turned round to see who was making the rude noises behind them! It got quite embarrassing but she found it hilarious. Luckily the phase only lasted a few days!

JayJay1874 · 10/09/2017 00:08

Ari loves doggies. She always shouts doggy when she sees one. Strolling in the park we saw some squirrels and i said 'look ari'. She gasped in amazement. I asked what they were and she shouted 'little doggies.' Couldn't convince her they weren't.

flozza42 · 10/09/2017 13:00

Taking my son around the supermarket in his pushchair used to be a nightmare for me as he had a tendency to grab things when I wasn't aware and hide them in his pushchair! At 18 months I once returned home from a trip to the shop to find he had hidden a tube of steradent false teeth cleaning tablets under his legs in his pushchair! Very red faced when I returned these items I was mortified. He's in his twenties now and this always makes people laugh when I tell them!

ikkle87 · 10/09/2017 15:06

My son used to snore like an old man and let out very loud trumps when asleep in his pushchair people would give me some right funny looks, especially when on a packed bus. They stunk too.

cocochips · 10/09/2017 16:40

Non- Tester- Mummy why does that woman have a moustache? I could have dies of embarrassment

helcrai · 10/09/2017 17:02

My father in law taught my eldest to shout "Home James!" every time she got into her car seat.

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 10/09/2017 17:28

Funniest thing - probably the stealthy shoplifting. It wasn't funny at the time as I'd have to trek back and return things but the randomness was quite something. I'd look down and my child would be holding a box of hairclippers or a ball of pink wool or something. I eventually got used to checking before we left places, but usually I'd be too distracted by walking/running children to notice the one who was secure in the pushchair.

RippleEffects · 10/09/2017 20:05

'Some of us aren't using our searbelts today!' Some time into a long journey with autistic DS1(7), usually very sensible and reliable DS2 (5) and newborn DD.

DS2 is a strapping 11 year old now. He survived. I'm not sure I've recovered from the shock, followed by guilt. He'd been super independant and doing his own belt from a crazy young age, no doubt in part, due to DS1's very high needs. I still completely tense up at the thought of it.

Tonkatol · 10/09/2017 21:54

Non Tester.

My youngest daughter is several years younger than her other siblings. One day I was giving a lift to a friend, who was the mother of a friend of my eldest daughter and had my youngest daughter strapped into her car seat. Stopped at traffic lights and during a break in the conversation DD asked me, very loudly "why is x growing a beard - beards a for men" - friend in question had a problem with facial hair and DD had noticed it - I was so embarrassed. Obviously, the more I tried to gloss over the question, the more persistent my daughter became - I couldn't drop my friend off quickly enough.

robyn297 · 10/09/2017 22:29

My son once shouted "get out the way old man" I was so embarrassed, I quickly moved along and then asked my son why he said that, he replied because that's what daddy says when he's driving!

NerrSnerr · 11/09/2017 09:58

My daughter used to scowl at all the people cooing over her in the pram and as soon as they walked away she'd laugh her head off!

OhIfIMust · 11/09/2017 20:49

Tester here with my full feedback...

  • Which product did you test and what did you think of it overall?
I tested the Yema baby carrier
  • How old is your child? What sort of testing did you do?
Our son is 13 months. I used it for the school run, out for walks round town and also quite long walks in the woods, and during a kid's party!
  • What did you think of the design? What features stood out to you?
I absolutely loved the fabric. It felt very secure and looks great. My son seemed very happy in it, especially in the hip mode so he could see my face but it still gave him a bit more independence and movement than the front mode. The back mode was comfortable - and it made him drop off every time I used it so that was a definite plus too!
  • What about the functionality - how did it meet your needs as a parent? It was a bit complicated to put on - especially in hip mode. But I could manage to put my son in the sling when using it in "back carry" mode, and do it all up myself without any help from anyone else - so that was quite impressive as I can't do that with my other sling when putting him on my back. I think it was because the long straps helped keep baby secure while moving him from side to back.
  • Did you partner (if applicable) or a friend use it? If so, what did they think? He thought it was super comfortable on, but found the instructions a little complicated, and didn't like the look of the belt because he thought it looked too chunky - because there is a clip and then the wrap material too.
  • How likely are you to recommend the product you tested to a friend or family member? Very likely.
  • Any other comments? It's a great sling which is very versatile and looks good. It feels like a high-end product. Love the hip position especially for older babies. It was a pleasure to test.
