JimJams have asked us to find 250 lucky Mumsnetters to test out their hazelnut chocolate spread. Testers will be sent one 350g jar of their 83% Less Sugar Hazelnut Chocolate Spread to try out with their family and will then be asked to leave feedback on a thread on Mumsnet.

Here’s what Kellie Bath, the co-founder of JimJams, had to say about the low-sugar treat: ‘As a mum, I was shocked at the amount of sugar found in most chocolate spreads (the equivalent of 57 sugar cubes per 400g jar). I decided to create a range of spreads that tasted amazing but with a fraction of the sugar (83% less sugar than leading brands!).

Our chocolate spreads are available in hazelnut and milk chocolate varieties. They have won Great Taste Awards, are officially kinder to teeth (approved by The British Dental Health Foundation) and are gluten free.

We use Maltitol to sweeten our spreads which is derived from a natural source (not artificial). It has nearly half of the calories than sugar, is kinder on teeth and diabetic friendly.

The tiny amount of palm oil used (one third palm to two thirds rapeseed) is fully sustainable and certified by the RSPO.’

For those of you with nut allergies and/or dairy intolerances in your family, please be aware that this product does contain nuts and milk, so it’s probably not for you (but keep an eye on our upcoming product tests for other options). Here is a link to the list of ingredients.

If you’d like to try JimJams, please enter your details here to sign up for the product test. If you’re selected, your jar will be with you soon and you’ll be required to leave some feedback on the thread on Mumsnet. All testers who comment on the thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

Atthebottomofthegarden · 06/07/2017 22:06

Hi AmeliaMN can I please opt out of this if Possible please! - Thank you x

ParadiseCity · 07/07/2017 19:10

I'm sure it's lovely but pleeeease in your next bit of marketing blurb could you try 'as a parent' - 'as a mum' made me cringe.

siiberra · 08/07/2017 03:44

Hi
i can tist ?

BendydickCuminsnatch · 08/07/2017 15:30

My son is only 2 so I've not signed up, but bought some today and it has a weird chemically aftertaste?? Might just be my pregnancy tongue though... hope so! Someone tell me it's just me Grin

It leaves the mouth feeling much 'cleaner' than Nutella, only way I can describe it really! Maybe there's a proper Feedback thread but can't find it so thought I'd just post here.

cutthegraa · 08/07/2017 19:36

I bought some of this the after day. Tastes lovely, but Jesus, the wind it causes is horrendous. No way would I give it to my kids Blush

Kardashianlove · 08/07/2017 22:02

@BendydickCuminsnatch chemical aftertaste will be the maltitol, it's artificial sweetener. It can give you the runs if you have too much. I'd far rather have sugar and I wouldn't give it to a 2 year old.

There are some really good healthier chocolate spreads out there, just look at the ingredients in them compared to this one and you'll see a big difference.

Kardashian I thought as much. I didn't give it to my 2 year old, it was purely for me Grin I did think twice when I saw the first ingredient was the Maltitol, whereas Pip&Nut's chocolate spread is Hazelnuts, then cacao powder and something else only... But I got the JimJams through being so easily influenced by Mumsnet, ha.

Gah, why the palm oil at all? There's just no need for it. Fully sustainable just means that it's farmed on land that's been 'cleared' at least five years ago. So illegally chop down rainforest, plant palm oil for a few years then five years later yay! It's suddenly sustainable.

done

ThemisA · 10/07/2017 14:58

Signed up - we love Hazelnut spreads but find most things too sweet so this sounds just up our street.
