This is the feedback thread for those MNers who tested ScreenLimit parental control app.

Here’s what ScreenLimit has to say about the app:

“ScreenLimit is a parental control app that allows parents to remotely manage their children's screen time from a smartphone, tablet or web browser on any computer.

It works on multiple devices, cross platform on Windows PCs and laptops along with iPhones, iPads, Android and Amazon devices (not Kindle Fire Kids Edition).

Parents can set a daily time allowance, instantly block access to sites, schedule times of the day when devices cannot be used, allow or block specific apps (not iOS), send their children direct messages and reward them for good behaviour. The innovative, built-in rewards function gives children the chance to earn ‘bonus’ screen time in exchange for completing tasks and household chores.

We’re a small team of dedicated parents with a mission to ensure children have a balanced childhood. If you have any issues we’re here to help and will respond quickly! Simply drop us an email at [email protected]

Testers: please answer the following questions:
• Do you think ScreenLimit could be useful for parents to manage screen time?
• How user-friendly did you find ScreenLimit?
• What did you think about the rewards system?
• What does ScreenLimit do really well?
• Are there any other features that you would like to see?

Please also add a review of the app in the Mumsnet reviews section

Everyone who leaves feedback on this thread and fills in the feedback survey will be entered into a prize draw where one Mumsnetter will win a £200 voucher from the store of your choice.

NON TESTERS If you’re not testing, but would like the chance to win a £200 voucher for the store of your choice, please answer the following question by sharing your reply in the feedback thread below:

What app is the most used/misused by your children?

Thanks! And Good Luck with the prize draw!

Non tester - my dd (5) is obsessed with all the Toca Boca games.

Shloooooob · 09/06/2017 11:38

Non tester :
YouTube is the most misused app. We used to be able to get kids YouTube when we had an iPad, but now we have a fire tablet and can't find it anywhere on the App Store.

The most used app is minecraft.

iamdivergent · 09/06/2017 13:43

Instagram! It's all I hear, instagram this and instagram that - didn't even realise that there was a messaging option until DD (12) told me. She is in various group conversations and on it too much Hmm

Feltedbump · 09/06/2017 22:14

Non tester - 2 very small DC but they can already get onto youtube and watch countless rubbish/cartoons/advertising of toys.

tigercub50 · 09/06/2017 23:51

You tube again! I try to persuade my daughter to download educational apps as she is very bright & gets bored easily but unfortunately she never seems to tire of those American videos where they seem to be just opening parcels & commenting inanely on the contents! And those voices.......!

Stargirl84 · 10/06/2017 08:41

Bacere · 10/06/2017 16:22

user1492794090 · 10/06/2017 22:34

No tester

I would say Candy Crush - the hidden charges in there that my kid doesn't realise actually costs real money.

Other than that - youtube!

buckley1983 · 11/06/2017 00:45

Non-tester here.. Like so many others, it's another vote for YouTube kids app - he loves it! I don't mind him watching it sometimes - it reassures me to know no inappropriate ads are going to pop up & scare the living daylights out of him (& me!) :)

StandUnderMyUmbrella · 11/06/2017 10:16
