worst place is stairs

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 02/11/2016 17:16

My most hated place to vaccum is the bedroom! I end up having to lift the mattress & unscrew some slats to be able to do under the bed which I have to do because if I don't it gets dusty which makes my allergies worse.

vixo · 02/11/2016 18:11

My least favourite place to vacuum is definitely the stairs - current vacuum too heavy and unwieldy!

cavalo · 02/11/2016 19:18

Every room! They all have their own challenges Smile

~ how did the demo from the Vorwerk rep go? What were you the most keen to try out?

The demo went well. I was glad that it happened as i feel it might have took me a while to figure out all the different buttons etc. Once you know what you are doing, the Vorwerk is simple!

I was excited about the wet and dry set for the hard floors. I loved that it sucked up the dirt and washed the floor at the same time. Amazing time saver!

~ how were the instructions in the box?

The instructions were easy to understand and very thorough. It made me understand the system well.

I am amazed by the fact that i thought my floors were virtually clean but apparently not! This Vorwerk cleans very deeply and grabs the things my Hetty Hoover obviously wasn't. So slightly embarrassing how much the bag did pick up!

The picture shows the Vorwerk itself, alongside the very dirty (!) cloth off my not so clean kitchen floor! Yuk!

Non tester.

I hate hoovering the kitchen. It needs hoovering after every meal, it gets hoovered once a fortnight.

It is such a pain, weaving between chair and table legs, going between tile and carpet, and the floor hates me. It slopes. Hmm

CombineBananaFister · 02/11/2016 20:48

NON TESTER

The communal hallway and stairs within our apartment block. It's not so bad hoovering up your own dirt and hair but everyone else's is a bit grim Grin and you can't do it in your Pjs!

HawkeyeInConfusion · 02/11/2016 21:08

Non tester

I don't mind hoovering when the floor is tidy. But I hate having to tidy up first. With that in mind, worst place is dd's bedroom. Normally the carpet is barely visible under the mess.

Peter was fantastic, really thorough about all the features of the product and happy to answer the 10,000 questions I had! (He also wasn't bothered by dds pestering bless him!) He was really pleasant and Easy to chat to! We only have one small area of carpet so I was most eager to try the hoover + mop function!

~ how were the instructions in the box?
I was told not to open it before he came to demo, and Peter was very thorough with his explanation so I haven't needed to look at the instructions! They're still sat on the arm of the sofa where he left them!

~ what did the demo cassette bag show after the first use - are you surprised by how much has been picked up?
As above, we only have hard floors in our house so the demo cassette wasn't used in our demo. However, my ex hoovered the floor after Peter had left and the hoover picked up glitter that even mopping hadn't been able to clean up.

I'm really impressed that you are able to hang the hoover up to save space, mine is currently stationed in the hallway!

Least favourite is the car! I live in the top flat in the house so a cord won't reach and other handhelds are too weak for the job!

lollylaus83 · 02/11/2016 22:51

Got to Be my boys' room!! We are talking clothes, Lego etc and a lifetime of fluff and crumbs to be vacuumed up! I have to say it's not a job I do regularly!! 😬

clopper · 02/11/2016 23:30

Non tester. My worst place to hoover is the stairs as they are steep and narrow and it's difficult to balance the hoover on the steps.

Ytaddict · 03/11/2016 02:59

I hate doing my sons bedroom carpet. I had a silly thought one time to put down a black carpet thinking I won't see it if it gets a bit dirty. It needs hoovered every single day with the small nozzle on my hands and knees because you can see every single bit of fluff! Gggrrrrr

janney3 · 03/11/2016 08:16

My least favourite room to vacuum is my sons, full of bits of paper, left over food items and dirty clothes.

IHaveAToiletBrush · 03/11/2016 12:26

My least favourite place to hoover is the car. We don't have a drive we have a residential car park at the end of the street no where near the house and I can't park outside the house to do it as there is a communal green right out side mt front door and the extension lead won't reach. Therefore have to do it at the petrol station and the hoovers never have very good suction I could probably do just a good job with a straw!

WatcherIsInYourNightamares · 03/11/2016 15:07

My least favourite places to hoover are the stairs & the dogs sofa.
Our house is an old cottage type so the stairs are really narrow & have an awkward turn,it's really difficult to manoeuvre our dyson but I've yet to find a handheld that does a good enough job!
I will admit to going back to old fashioned methods at times & using a hand brush on them first...backbreaking !

The dogs have their own sofa which gets full of hair,it needs hoovering regularly.
I've attempted to hoover the 2 dogs at the same time but sadly they have decided they'd rather play with the Hoover pipe rather than be groomed by it.

Oops Non tester Above !Blush

victria · 03/11/2016 15:32

I hate doing the stairs - so many of them and so many door frames too!

DoItTooJulia · 03/11/2016 15:36

Gutted to have not been selected! I hate all vacuuming, but I'm obsessed with having vacuumed floors (I blame my heavy Henry for the hatred, but you can't beat the suction!).

I hate doing the stairs the most though. Bloody awkward. So a hand held vac would go a long way to solve that!!

ggirl · 03/11/2016 15:39

Least favourite is the stairs , I have a new carpet and I'm attempting to vacuum more regularly but the stairs are such a pain..hoover landed on my head the other day.

IAmAPaleontologist · 03/11/2016 17:28

I hate hoovering general but if I had to pick a least favourite it would be the bathroom, negotiating the wiping up of wet bits, the hoovering up of soggy fluff which doesn't want to be hoovered but just gets spread around by a mop and the really awkward angle to get behind the door.

MissB78 · 03/11/2016 17:36

I hate hoovering under the sofa downstairs as we have wooden flooring as it takes ages and it gets dusty so quickly!

TheDailyWail · 03/11/2016 17:45

Non tester- the worst place to vacuum is my hall and stair carpet. You have to sweep it with a rubber brush beforehand to get the dog hairs out.
