This is the feedback thread for the 10 Mumsnetters trying the Kobold VK200 Upright Vacuum Cleaner.

Non testers - we also have 5 handheld vacuums to be won - simply share on this thread what your least favourite room or place to vac is and you will be entered into a prize draw where 5 non testers will each win their very own Kobold VC100 handheld vacuum cleaner (RRP £129.00) Smile

Back to the test, the team at Kobold say “compact, unbeatably handy and extremely powerful, the Kobold VK200 Upright Vacuum Cleaner is the ideal addition to your household, making life easier and cleaner.
Designed by global German household appliance manufacturer Vorwerk, the Kobold VK200, in combination with two different attachments, takes care of all your floor cleaning needs. Whether it’s carpets or hard floors – the VK200 Homecare System has it covered.
The unique SP530 DuoClean head allows you to mop and vacuum at the same time – a world first! It uses just 100ml of water to cover up to 20 m² of hard floor. And the best part? Simply remove the cleaning cloths when you’ve finished and pop them in the washing machine ready for next time.

“The EB400 brush head meanwhile ensures vacuuming is thorough, gentle and hygienic – driven by its own motor, a special rotating brush scans the floor 16 times per second and removes dirt and dust completely. Even the finest dirt particles do not stand a chance!

“Visit kobold.vorwerk.co.uk to find out more about the Kobold VK200 vacuum cleaner and discover the array of clever additional accessories that turn this machine into the Ultimate Homecare System! Simply click and swap to the attachment you need to expertly deal with upholstery, furniture, mattresses, textiles and anything else you need cleaned. Built to last, the Kobold VK200 is the only vacuum cleaner you’ll ever need”.

the living room as we have really expensive wooden furniture which I don't want to damage by knocking them

ksouthcott · 28/11/2016 14:14

My daughters' bedroom because there is always so much stuff on the floor that I have to move first

jamielmdjs · 28/11/2016 15:43

under the dining table. too many legs to get around, under and through...

no - i'm not doing it when people are sitting there - i mean legs of the table and chairs!

OneShotFinch · 28/11/2016 15:53

My least favourite place to vacuum is the kitchen. Lots of bits/crums get on the floor and lots of awkward corners! Plus my current vacuum doesn't work too well on the hard floor!

wafflesandpeas · 28/11/2016 16:32

Yep, stairs! Bad enough anyway but with baby stair gates, the hoover cable and everything.... total nightmare!

jomarise · 28/11/2016 17:07

The living room rugs - so many surface changes equals hard work

spanglisher · 28/11/2016 18:43

My son's room is always a nightmare as I can't see the floor for all the Lego, clothes, toys etc. covering it

sweir1 · 28/11/2016 19:36

The living room. It never looks done

sealight123 · 28/11/2016 20:29

My least favourite place/room to vac is the kitchen. This is because I seem to be eternally doing it! My partner and daughter seem to have lost the abilities to keep food in their mouths and crumbs in the bin!

I also hate the noise the vacuum makes when it is dragged across our laminate flooring shudder

Cailin7 · 28/11/2016 21:13

I do not mind vacuuming, as housework tasks go it is ok. My least favourite room is either of DSs bedrooms, as I usually end up with little bits of model figures etc stuck in my cleaner

Annbunce · 28/11/2016 22:17

The stairs for me 😫

fayesmummy · 28/11/2016 23:34

I really hate vacuuming the stairs..!

Wolhuter · 29/11/2016 07:13

My least favourite place to hoover is my daughters room, not only is the floor place always cluttered, there will be various craft bits spilled in the floor such as glitter or sequins, a nightmare to hoover!

The dining room, between the toddler, two cats and a fiance its a perpetual cycle of Hoover mess, Hoover mess ........argh!

debbiew21 · 29/11/2016 11:12

My youngest son's room. Top of the house to start with, so two flights of stairs to negotiate and then messy bits of lego etc to clear up before you get near the carpet. And you always, always, always suck up something lurking where it shouldn't be!

linasi · 29/11/2016 11:19

I'm a non tester

Definitely the worst place is the stairs!!!!! Hoovering the stairs is the chore with the most brownie points! 😂

emily13 · 29/11/2016 13:39

my office because I have to move the heavy chair and other stuff to get the hoover in there properly!

monkey1978 · 29/11/2016 14:23

my least favourite place to hoover is without a doubt the stairs!, it is so annoying trying to hold onto the hoover as well as actually hoovering!

ell5454 · 29/11/2016 14:33

The stairs I hate doing the edges

clarem100 · 29/11/2016 15:19

under the dining room table -we are doing BLW with my 10 month old so lots of it ends up under there

robinson131 · 29/11/2016 15:24

My least favourite place is the bedroom ,moving all the heavy furniture about to hoover underneath it.

cluckyhen · 29/11/2016 15:34

The dining area!!

user1472646069 · 29/11/2016 15:40

Non tester. My least favourite place to clean is the stair case.

janemphoto · 29/11/2016 15:42

The most awkward to hoover is always the staircase, you have to balance the hoover on it and the hose is just too long and gets in the way.

kevinb1967 · 29/11/2016 15:50

My daughter's bedroom - I have to find the floor first!
