This is the feedback thread for the 10 Mumsnetters trying the Kobold VK200 Upright Vacuum Cleaner.

Non testers - we also have 5 handheld vacuums to be won - simply share on this thread what your least favourite room or place to vac is and you will be entered into a prize draw where 5 non testers will each win their very own Kobold VC100 handheld vacuum cleaner (RRP £129.00) Smile

Back to the test, the team at Kobold say “compact, unbeatably handy and extremely powerful, the Kobold VK200 Upright Vacuum Cleaner is the ideal addition to your household, making life easier and cleaner.
Designed by global German household appliance manufacturer Vorwerk, the Kobold VK200, in combination with two different attachments, takes care of all your floor cleaning needs. Whether it’s carpets or hard floors – the VK200 Homecare System has it covered.
The unique SP530 DuoClean head allows you to mop and vacuum at the same time – a world first! It uses just 100ml of water to cover up to 20 m² of hard floor. And the best part? Simply remove the cleaning cloths when you’ve finished and pop them in the washing machine ready for next time.

“The EB400 brush head meanwhile ensures vacuuming is thorough, gentle and hygienic – driven by its own motor, a special rotating brush scans the floor 16 times per second and removes dirt and dust completely. Even the finest dirt particles do not stand a chance!

“Visit kobold.vorwerk.co.uk to find out more about the Kobold VK200 vacuum cleaner and discover the array of clever additional accessories that turn this machine into the Ultimate Homecare System! Simply click and swap to the attachment you need to expertly deal with upholstery, furniture, mattresses, textiles and anything else you need cleaned. Built to last, the Kobold VK200 is the only vacuum cleaner you’ll ever need”.

The stairs. About 50% of the time I just resort to dustpan and brush and try not to sneeze...

SSCRASE123 · 27/11/2016 20:10

Non-Tester - The stairs, it's always the stairs, anywhere else fine but please not the stairs.

Babanew · 27/11/2016 20:28

I hate vaccuuming so any room is a challenge- but particularly the living room- I vaccuum thoroughly and when I have finished and think I have done I see little bits of food or something still on the floor! Aaaagh! I don't have a dining room so we eat I here, my aighter I only 14 months so not very tidy, also my hoover isn't very good so cant pick up that well.

sarah861421 · 27/11/2016 20:32

non tester. I quite enjoy hoovering ( whilst listening to some loud music on my headphones ) but not the kitchen. too many things to move and it gets dirty straight away

xenoyia6060 · 27/11/2016 20:55

my spare room. Its basically my cats room in that they have their litter tray, food and water bowls, cat toys etc in there. I don't know what they do but i have to hoover in there a couple of times a day because they kick up so much litter. Horrible room to hoover with all the balls and the scratch posts etc.

JoJoBaldwin · 27/11/2016 20:59

The stairs! All that balancing and lugging the vacuum around, hate it.

mamof3boys · 27/11/2016 21:18

Vacuuming the childrens bedrooms is really hard work as I have to move toys first so it takes me far longer

samosh22 · 27/11/2016 21:23

The kitchen

jessiecat33 · 27/11/2016 21:38

It has to be my dughters bedroom as it is such a mess

amanda08 · 27/11/2016 21:46

Absolutely without doubt the stairs!

tinkertink2010 · 27/11/2016 22:00

The living room - there's only a rug in it!

emilybc · 27/11/2016 22:05

My least favourite place to vacuum is the ENTIRE house because our current vacuum is basically broken - you have to keep 100% contact with the carpet at all times, or it won't suck anything up!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/11/2016 22:08

Least favourite place is the stairs - ours are very steep and narrow and I find stairs difficult at the best of times because of illness, so it feels like v hard work!

RACHELSMITH45 · 27/11/2016 22:25

the stairs!! Exhausting!!

mclarengurl · 27/11/2016 22:26

Son's room!
Hell have no fury like a 5-year old who hears a toy go up the vacuum cleaner!

avery64 · 27/11/2016 22:28

Non - tester. Mine are the rooms upstairs. The older I get the heavier the vac seems to be. I keep dropping hints to DH about having 2 (1 for up, 1 for down) but I'm afraid it falls on deaf ears!

Sid98 · 27/11/2016 23:39

Non tester - The attic

lhlee62 · 28/11/2016 00:04

Non tester- I hate doing the stairs especially as my current vacuum is quite heavy so I tend to leave it to my husband!

lastkisstoo · 28/11/2016 00:20

My stairway. It is spiral shaped and quite narrow, so there are little awkward corners everywhere!

cistolic · 28/11/2016 06:41

I dislike doing the bedrooms because they have shaggy rugs which seem to matt and the pile doesn't come back like it was even using the small attachment nozzle.

Elliepurpleflower · 28/11/2016 07:17

I dislike vacuuming my girls room because there are always tiny hair bobbles and small bits of toys everywhere that I have to pick up first.

finleypop · 28/11/2016 07:38

My sons bedroom because it is so hard to find the floor in there!

kittensmittens12 · 28/11/2016 08:47

the living room. We have wood floors and a ginger and white cat, and it's amazing how much fur gets all over the floor

windowmouse · 28/11/2016 10:35

Least favourite is the dining room because of moving the dining table around

itsali · 28/11/2016 12:27

The stairs as they are awkward to vacuum, especially with a regular cleaner. Not keen on vacuuming the bathroom either as there are nooks and crannies in there.
