We are interested to find out what MNers who are already Amazon Prime Video users watch with their families, and what they like about it; as well as what content their kids watch and enjoy too. We want to know how Amazon Prime Video fits into your daily routine and why it is important to you and your family, particularly the ability to download and watch ad-free content on the move.’

Please post your feedback about Amazon Prime Video and you will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Amazon voucher.

Please answer these questions below, but also feel free to add your own comments:

Lego shorts, my ds loves the Lego City as he is able to match up some of his own sets and extend what he has watched into play.

Still loves the preschool favourites such as peppa pig.

3.What is your favourite thing about Amazon Prime Video?

The variety of things to watch,

4.What makes Amazon Prime Video appealing to you and your family?

Ease of use and parental control

5.Tumbleleaf, Wishenpoof!, and Just Add Magic are Amazon Kids' originals available only on Amazon prime - which Amazon Prime Kids' shows have you/your kids watched and what did you/your kids like about them?

My DS wasn't interested in any of them.

6.Amazon Prime Video is one of many benefits included in Amazon Prime membership - how important is Amazon Prime membership to you and why?

I like having it however it is quite expensive still at £79. We are not sure how long we will be keeping it because of the cost.

squirre1 · 06/07/2016 14:58

What was the last thing you watched with your kids on Amazon Prime Video and what did you like about it?

Teen Titans. Dd2 loves them atm

2.What do your kids enjoy watching on Amazing Prime Video and why?

There's a lot of choice. SpongeBob, teen titans for the older one and postman pat, fireman Sam for the youngest.

3.What is your favourite thing about Amazon Prime Video?

It's easy to use and easy to buy videos not on prime.

4.What makes Amazon Prime Video appealing to you and your family?

There's a lot of choice on there and I always paid for Amazon prime before the video was added so it's an extra bonus.

5.Tumbleleaf, Wishenpoof!, and Just Add Magic are Amazon Kids' originals available only on Amazon prime - which Amazon Prime Kids' shows have you/your kids watched and what did you/your kids like about them?

Can't say that the kids are overly interested in the Amazon kids originals. I have watched some brilliant Amazon originals though!

6.Amazon Prime Video is one of many benefits included in Amazon Prime membership - how important is Amazon Prime membership to you and why?

I love the one day delivery. P&P would cost a fortune as with a disabled child it's hard to get out. It's easy to click and get most things the next day. Customer service could be better though and I don't like the way you can't add people to your membership anymore. Dd2 is old enough to have a bank card which has her pocket money on but even though she's added on to my account can't get free delivery. For £90 a year I think that's a bit rubbish.

pinkunicornsarefluffy · 06/07/2016 15:20

1.What was the last thing you watched with your kids on Amazon Prime Video and what did you like about it? we watched Shrek 2 last week and DD loved it.

2.What do your kids enjoy watching on Amazing Prime Video and why? DD loves Lego Friends, My Little Pony.

3.What is your favourite thing about Amazon Prime Video? That it is easily available on DD's kindle

4.What makes Amazon Prime Video appealing to you and your family? I only got it as I joined Prime for free delivery. I cancelled Netflix when I realised I could get free videos.

5.Tumbleleaf, Wishenpoof!, and Just Add Magic are Amazon Kids' originals available only on Amazon prime - which Amazon Prime Kids' shows have you/your kids watched and what did you/your kids like about them? I don't think we have watched any

6.Amazon Prime Video is one of many benefits included in Amazon Prime membership - how important is Amazon Prime membership to you and why?

I joined Prime purely to get a fancy dress outfit the next day. I pay it monthly so £7.99 a month instead of £79 a year, so slightly dearer but easier for budgeting. DD prefers Netflix though as it has Mia and Me , and Ever After High, so I will probably go back to Netflix at some point. and I have noticed that a lot of products increase in price when you use Prime so it's not always as good as it seems.

Candyperfumegirl · 06/07/2016 15:56

What was the last thing you watched with your kids on Amazon Prime Video and what did you like about it?

Dispicable me, because my kids like it and its funny.

2.What do your kids enjoy watching on Amazing Prime Video and why?

On demand. Good choice. Golden oldies too!

3.What is your favourite thing about Amazon Prime Video?

On demand

4.What makes Amazon Prime Video appealing to you and your family?

Again thats in on demand and that it comes with our prime subscription. Have to admitt, we all prefer Netflix. Would prefer amazon to have seperate profiles like netflix on. Also, amazon app will not work on the kids setting on my daughters kindle fire, it says we have to pay for a seperate kids app to watch amazon stuff, cheeky considering we already paid the prime membership fee - so not happy about that. Netflix app works fine so she tends to watch netflix more.

5.Tumbleleaf, Wishenpoof!, and Just Add Magic are Amazon Kids' originals available only on Amazon prime - which Amazon Prime Kids' shows have you/your kids watched and what did you/your kids like about them?

My daughter likes just add magic, but she likes this genre.

6.Amazon Prime Video is one of many benefits included in Amazon Prime membership - how important is Amazon Prime membership to you and why?

I quite like it. I use next day delivery a lot & the video is added bonus. My husband paid for it as a one off at christmas last year, but I don't love it so much that I would personally pay for it myself. Like it, but could live without it. However, if my daughter could get the Amazon video on her kindle fire (kids setting) i would probably consider it over my netflix subscription.

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 06/07/2016 20:31

1.What was the last thing you watched with your kids on Amazon Prime Video and what did you like about it?
Shaun the sheep. My 3 year old loves it

2.What do your kids enjoy watching on Amazing Prime Video and why?
Shaun the sheep, in the night garden, Ben and holly, peppa pig, my little pony, pingu

3.What is your favourite thing about Amazon Prime Video?
Good selection, no adverts on kids programs although I have noticed ads for other shows sneaking in at the start of programs I want to watch which is annoying

4.What makes Amazon Prime Video appealing to you and your family?
Good selection, could do with the option to set up a child profile on the fire stick

5.Tumbleleaf, Wishenpoof!, and Just Add Magic are Amazon Kids' originals available only on Amazon prime - which Amazon Prime Kids' shows have you/your kids watched and what did you/your kids like about them?
None sorry
6.Amazon Prime Video is one of many benefits included in Amazon Prime membership - how important is Amazon Prime membership to you and why?
Very important. I buy a lot from Amazon and quite often choose slow delivery to get the £1 credit to buy films. This is especially good since the Disney films have stopped being a part of prime as it has enabled me to purchase them cheaper.

TheBigRedBoat · 06/07/2016 20:32

1.What was the last thing you watched with your kids on Amazon Prime Video and what did you like about it?

Bubble Guppies. A favourite for my dc's and they were pleased to find it on Amazon Prime

2.What do your kids enjoy watching on Amazing Prime Video and why?

Bubble Guppies, Go Diego, My Little Pony, Thomas the Tank Engine. They love that all the characters they love are available to watch.

3.What is your favourite thing about Amazon Prime Video?

So much choice.

4.What makes Amazon Prime Video appealing to you and your family?

Than it is a member benefit and that there is something for every taste to watch.

5.Tumbleleaf, Wishenpoof!, and Just Add Magic are Amazon Kids' originals available only on Amazon prime - which Amazon Prime Kids' shows have you/your kids watched and what did you/your kids like about them?

We haven't seen any of these yet but will investigate Wishenpoof for my 10 year old based on other mumsnetters reviews.

6.Amazon Prime Video is one of many benefits included in Amazon Prime membership - how important is Amazon Prime membership to you and why?

We get so much use from our membership, I do most of my gift shopping through Amazon Prime and love knowing that delivery is usually next day.
I've recently learned about the £1 credit for slower delivery so will try and take up that option as often as I can.

WolfiesDad · 07/07/2016 10:15

1 - Penguins of Madagascar (series). It's a great cartoon which appeals to children and adults alike.
2 - My daughter likes Winx club and lego friends.
3 - It's really great that we can stream (wi-fi permitting) and down-load some programmes. We go camping a lot, so the downloads really are valuable.
4 - It adds another dimension of options to our TV selection. Making use of "no-rush delivery" also makes watching some of the new releases easier to decide upon.
5 - we've not really watched the amazon kids programmes for a while. they seem to be pitched more at the pre-school age group.
6 - We make good use of our prime membership, so feel we get good value from it. Delivery, video, music, lending library and so-on. these perks help to keep us subscribed... and that means more amazon shopping!

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 07/07/2016 17:47

1.What was the last thing you watched with your kids on Amazon Prime Video and what did you like about it?

Peppa Pig. What's not to like about Peppa Pig? It keeps the kids quiet and it's not mind numbingly boring for adults.

I did also want to watch a film that was suitable for both of them but the children's film list on the app wasn't working properly and was listing films definitely not for children. There weren't any Disney films available for free on Prime that were suitable for both my 3yo and 7yo that week which is a shame. We like to watch something all together once a week for a treat. Loads of Snow Queen films bizarrely!

2.What do your kids enjoy watching on Amazing Prime Video and why?
Family movies. We also like the Shaun the Sheep and Penguins of Madagascar cartoons and Pingu has been a big hit with both kids.

3.What is your favourite thing about Amazon Prime Video?
Lots of choice. I'd love it if I could have different lists in my watch list so I can separate things for the kids.

4.What makes Amazon Prime Video appealing to you and your family?
It's easy and it varies.

5.Tumbleleaf, Wishenpoof!, and Just Add Magic are Amazon Kids' originals available only on Amazon prime - which Amazon Prime Kids' shows have you/your kids watched and what did you/your kids like about them?

My kids didn't want to watch them. Sorry!

6.Amazon Prime Video is one of many benefits included in Amazon Prime membership - how important is Amazon Prime membership to you and why?

Now I have it I really like it. I order last minute birthday presents and they come true next day. I probably buy too much stuff now Blush I have just started using Amazon Music and I really like Amazon Video but PLEASE can you put subsequent series on Prime for Mad Men and Orphan Black to name just two??! Also more family friendly films on Prime. We bought fires for the kids so will only use it more.

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 07/07/2016 17:51

It varies should say "the variety".

pinkunicornsarefluffy · 07/07/2016 19:05

just noticed several people saying that they wish they could pay monthly, but you can, it's just a little dearer at £7.99 a month instead of £79 for the year

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 07/07/2016 19:15

Oh I'd also like a reminder when stuff in my watchlist that is available free on Prime is about to become unavailable on Prime. A notification on the app a week before for a movie or a month before for a series would be good.

I'd also like to be able to buy paid for content via the app. At the moment I have to log onto the main site and it's a pain. Or do it on the TV which results in the children yelling or deciding they want to watch something else. I also find it a bit of a pain looking through everything so I do like the "if you liked X you'll probably like Y" feature but it's not brilliantly user friendly.

I like to have the decision made (via the app on my phone) away from the kids to avoid the bickering that blights my life.

slkk · 07/07/2016 21:56

I carly. It's a bit like Wotsits. totally addictive but you can't work out why!

1.What was the last thing you watched with your kids on Amazon Prime Video and what did you like about it? Scooby Doo - I like the old school ones (before they got into dating and boys) and surprisingly the DC seem to aswell!
2.What do your kids enjoy watching on Amazing Prime Video and why? They mostly watch movies. Since this trial they've started watching more TV stuff too and they really like the Kung Fu Panda ones
3.What is your favourite thing about Amazon Prime Video? That new films come out fairly regularly - I rarely get to the cinema but I don't mind paying to watch a recently released film.
4.What makes Amazon Prime Video appealing to you and your family? The choice and the lack of adverts.
5.Tumbleleaf, Wishenpoof!, and Just Add Magic are Amazon Kids' originals available only on Amazon prime - which Amazon Prime Kids' shows have you/your kids watched and what did you/your kids like about them? I think Kung Foo Panda is the only original one so far but now (thanks to this product test!) they have had their eyes opened to a whole new world of programmes. I know what we'll be doing over the summer holidays!
6.Amazon Prime Video is one of many benefits included in Amazon Prime membership - how important is Amazon Prime membership to you and why? My DH thinks that if you can't buy it on Amazon it doesn't exist! He's also a university lecturer with a serious book habit. Even without the TV we made back the cost in postage within about a month which means that the TV stuff all feels like a bonus. We are a serious Amazon household.

metoatee · 07/07/2016 22:47

5.Tumbleleaf, Wishenpoof!, and Just Add Magic are Amazon Kids' originals available only on Amazon prime - which Amazon Prime Kids' shows have you/your kids watched and what did you/your kids like about them?

Honestly, my hubby bought it by accident (so he says) but since we have it we have made fantastic use of it with the next day delivery especially and the Amazon prime will no doubt be a saviour even more so in the school holidays. I can't say its a necessity and we definitely could live without it but its a nice life perk right now.

1.What was the last thing you watched with your kids on Amazon Prime Video and what did you like about it?

Teen Titans. It's not a favourite of mine (it's loud Grin) but the DC could watch it without adverts.

2.What do your kids enjoy watching on Amazing Prime Video and why?

Peppa Pig, Little Kingdom, Teen Titans, Ninjago. Well my baby likes the Peppa Pig and LK as it's suitable for her with pared down illustrations and a slower pace of story line. My boys (5 and 8) liked Teen Titans and Ninjago from when we had SKY tv so are familiar with them, it's got action in it and a few laughs so keeps them happy.

3.What is your favourite thing about Amazon Prime Video?

We can pick and choose what we want when we want.

4.What makes Amazon Prime Video appealing to you and your family?

Again the choice and watching when it's suitable for us. The no annoying adverts is definitely a plus. There's a wide range of kids shows and films, something for everyone, including me.

5.Tumbleleaf, Wishenpoof!, and Just Add Magic are Amazon Kids' originals available only on Amazon prime - which Amazon Prime Kids' shows have you/your kids watched and what did you/your kids like about them?

Ooo, we only had the month trial thing so honestly we hadn't got around to watching anything new, incl the Amazon Prime Kids shows - sorry!

6.Amazon Prime Video is one of many benefits included in Amazon Prime membership - how important is Amazon Prime membership to you and why?

Well we just tried the month free trial and were impressed, we have cancelled out Sky subscription so are still shopping around but Amazon prime is a strong contender with the all in one price including the Amazon Family perks.

2.What do your kids enjoy watching on Amazing Prime Video and why?

My 4 year old likes Peppa Pig, Ben and Holly and My Little Pony. My 6 year old likes Transformers Rescue Bots and Ninjago. My 11 year old likes watching films and Top Gear.
They like that they can watch them when they want to and not just when they are being shown on Tv.

3.What is your favourite thing about Amazon Prime Video?
We like that it is instant and we can watch when we choose to. There is a good choice of programmes.

It has a good range of shows and films. There is something for everyone.

5.Tumbleleaf, Wishenpoof!, and Just Add Magic are Amazon Kids' originals available only on Amazon prime - which Amazon Prime Kids' shows have you/your kids watched and what did you/your kids like about them?
They haven't watched any Amazon Prime Originals yet. They enjoy watching My little pony, Ninjago, Peppa Pig and Transformers. These are their favourite programmes.

6.Amazon Prime Video is one of many benefits included in Amazon Prime membership - how important is Amazon Prime membership to you and why?

I love Prime membership. We use the next day delivery a lot. Also, I love no rush delivery with £1 credit to buy kindle books or movie rentals. The children all have fire sticks in their bedrooms so they can watch Amazon Prime Tv in their bedrooms, this sometimes saves arguments over the tv programme.

1.What was the last thing you watched with your kids on Amazon Prime Video and what did you like about it? We watched Season 1 of Team Umizoomi, followed by Ninjago and the Lego shows and The Lego Movie

2.What do your kids enjoy watching on Amazing Prime Video and why? The above mentioned shows, I think it's because they're popular with other children their ages ( I have a 1 year old, 2.5 year old and a 5 year old) and easy to watch.

3.What is your favourite thing about Amazon Prime Video? The fact the cost is covered by the Prime membership fee (unless you want to pay for the non prime shows, which we don't).

4.What makes Amazon Prime Video appealing to you and your family? A good range of shows and films with original content, box sets and classics.

5.Tumbleleaf, Wishenpoof!, and Just Add Magic are Amazon Kids' originals available only on Amazon prime - which Amazon Prime Kids' shows have you/your kids watched and what did you/your kids like about them? They couldn't stand Just Add Magic or Wishenpoof! But loved Tumbleleaf. I think they liked Tumbleleaf because it wasn't dumbed down. They also like the pilot show content (that was aimed at kids) which we then went online and voted which they liked the best.

6.Amazon Prime Video is one of many benefits included in Amazon Prime membership - how important is Amazon Prime membership to you and why? Amazon Prime is important in our household for quick delivery of things we order from Amazon and we like prime music too and the kindle books also (which I get to keep me sane!)
We only have Internet tv so Amazon Prime tv gives us another dimension to watching shows.

  1. "Little red tractor" it's an old series not on TV anymore. Very good for tractor obsessed 2 year old.
  1. Older boy likes pokemon. Better to watch on amazon as it automatically goes to the next episode in a series unlike sky where he'd have to navigate the TV guide which can be tricky for a young child.
  1. DP says the stream quality.
  1. Easy to search and navigate, good range of programmes, few problems with streaming.
  1. Something about stinky & dirty? With trucks.
  1. Very! We order a lot from Amazon. It has become the default option for most things we need to buy due to the next day delivery which is much improved by Amazon lockers as being in for deliveries used to be a problem
