1.What was the last thing you watched with your kids on Amazon Prime Video and what did you like about it?
Annedroids - a series about a really clever, sciency girl who makes her own AI robots out of a junkyard. It's great to see a programme that has such a strong, brainy female lead!
2.What do your kids enjoy watching on Amazing Prime Video and why?
TV box sets - like Annedroids above, My Little Pony, the dreaded Winx (can't stand those anorexic fairies, but DD adores them!). We also like watching movies and have downloaded (and purchased!) quite a few for long haul flight entertainment on tablets. It's also great that they can watch all these on the Big TV as we have a Fire Stick - best invention ever - so I can still MN while she's watching! Before, we used the laptop for streaming so I was stuck watching too.
3.What is your favourite thing about Amazon Prime Video?
There are hours and hours of entertainment - not just for DD, but for us all. I love that there are some really awesome old-school sets that DH and I can rewatch together - we're currently on S4 of X=Files and it's just as fab as I remember! The Amazon Originals series are also worth a watch - I loved the Man in the High Castle, and we have a few more on our list for when we're tired of Mulder & Scully.
4.What makes Amazon Prime Video appealing to you and your family?
Once you've paid your Prime membership fee, that's it - no more fuss. We've taught DD how to search only for things with the Prime banner in the corner, so she doesn't click on anything that is pay per view, and we're all happy!
5.Tumbleleaf, Wishenpoof!, and Just Add Magic are Amazon Kids' originals available only on Amazon prime - which Amazon Prime Kids' shows have you/your kids watched and what did you/your kids like about them?
The first two are "a bit babyish, Mummy!" (my 7yo verbatim) but she did enjoy Just Add Magic as he loves to cook. We watched the pilot, ages ago, and she was really looking forward to watching the rest and now wants a magic cookbook for Christmas. Thanks Amazon!
6.Amazon Prime Video is one of many benefits included in Amazon Prime membership - how important is Amazon Prime membership to you and why?
It's essential - I will prioritise it over many other household expenses. I sue it every day - it's a godsend for last minute birthday presents, I did ALL the Xmas shopping last year through Amazon, we have watched hours and hours of great TV. However the biggest and most unexpected bonus, for me, has been Prime Music. What a fab invention! I have the app on my phone and all the CDs I've bought through Amazon are automatically on there - incredible! Plus, If I'm connected to the Wifi I can stream some really amazing music through the Prime Library - I have it on all the time now and I absolutely love it. I'd renew just for this alone. It's brilliant!
So, in summary, the £79 fee seems like a lot but for the free delivery, plus TV shoes, movies, and an endless supply of awesome music - it's worth every penny.
