This is the feedback thread for the 500 Mumsnetters who tested Comfort Pure Ultra Concentrate.

Here’s what Comfort has to say: “We are pleased to launch the NEW Comfort Pure Ultra Concentrate. Following our fantastic launch of Comfort Intense last year, we were keen to offer an extension of this format suitable for sensitive skin. Comfort Pure Ultra Concentrate offers the same loved fragrance, amazing softness and performance as Comfort Pure, number 1 laundry brand for sensitive skin*, but from just a tiny dose! Just one cap (15ml) is needed in your washing load and comes in a convenient small pack, either 38 washes or 64 washes from most major retailers. Incredible softness, from just a tiny dose!”

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

Very compact, fitted well in our badly designed, lacking space kitchen. Would be easy to spot in the supermarket.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

I liked the bottle and its size. It smelt lovely, made the clothes soft and the smell lasted well.

I would find it too expensive to buy regularly though - it would be something I would buy on offer.

marymanc · 06/05/2016 23:45

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product? I liked the packaging, small but powerful as concentrate.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
I liked the fragrance and that it left my clothes fresh and soft.

Fizzyboo · 07/05/2016 00:18

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

Firstly that I much preferred the size of the bottle than the normal huge sized ones.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

Again I really liked the smaller size, but didn't really notice any extra softness to my washing. A slight scent.

ilovewelshrarebit123 · 07/05/2016 00:35

Q1: I like the size of the bottle and its smells lovely. I've always used pure anyway, so was looking forward to trying it. Easy to pour with the spout to.

Q2: I thought the smell was far more subtle than normal pure and would like it to be stronger. I didn't think it made our clothes particularly soft. I also have a tendency to be over generous with my doses, so feel wouldn't last long. It's also too expensive and I'll be sticking to normal pure, as I can't use anything else.

FeelingSmurfy · 07/05/2016 00:51

Just a quick note for now to say that my bottle of fabric softener has arrived and was very well packaged, I will be back to review it

Blizy · 07/05/2016 07:31

I like it, the bottle is nice and compact so easy storage.
I like the smell and I know my sons skin won't react to it as I use the normal comfort pure. I will be buying this in the future.

Pigriver · 07/05/2016 07:45

The small bottle us good as space is limited. I don't usually but fabric softer as the small can be overpowering. This wasn't which was good but I can't say I felt a massive difference I'm softness.
38 washes is based on a 5kg machine. Mine is 6 kg meaning I need to use double so it will last 18 washes which obviously makes it more expensive per wash.
A measuring line on the cap would be helpful.

raindaisy · 07/05/2016 07:54

My overall impression was ok. The bottle is neat and easy to store so less packaging and waste. Its easily recyclable. Its lighter so easier to carry home from store.
The fragrance is ok can be a bit overpowering to start which was surprising as its meant to be pure, but it does have a bit of a soapy smell which isn't very nice. After using it the fragrance doesn't stay for long. It doesn't seem to soften as much as a regular sized softener does. This would be nicer if they warmed up the fragrance and made it smell more gentle rather than artificial.

Lunar1 · 07/05/2016 08:09

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

I love the strong smell, my whole house smells like clean washing. The small bottle size is brilliant and fits in my cupboard easily. Less waste for recycling. Loved it and will buy it in future, though will probably stock up when on special offer as its a little expensive at full rrp.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

The smell was the biggest draw for me, normally the smell on the sensitive ones is very mild and vanishes shortly after drying. This in seems to really last and is so fresh and clean.

The washing is slightly softer but I use a dryer so wouldn't expect a huge difference there anyway.

I think you should make it clear on the front of the bottle that it is for sensitive skin, this packaging is fine for people that know the brand but wouldn't be immediately obvious for someone new to it.

OnMyShoulders · 07/05/2016 09:23

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

I really liked it. Comfort Pure is my favourite softener by far. The scent is lovely and we've all got sensitive skin in our house.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

I love the clean, fresh smell of the clothes after using it. It's strong enough to linger but delicate enough not to be cloying. The compact packaging is great - much easier to handle and store than a big bottle.

Thanks for picking me to test this product. Smile

Fluffywuffyunicorn · 07/05/2016 09:53

Overall impression - bottle is nice and small, so its easier to store then my regular brand. The nozzle made pouring easy and mess free. I noticed no difference in softness compared to my regular softener. And the smell had completely gone after drying. But so does my regular. I dried 2 loads, one in the drier and one on the washing line.

I would probably only buy this if I couldn't get hold of my regular brand. My regular brand does 120 washes whilst this only does 38, for roughly the same price.

Merrylegs · 07/05/2016 10:18

A nice small bottle, good for storage.

Laundry was not noticeably softer and the smell was very subtle.

I only occasionally use fabric softener and when I do it's usually for the thrill of trying out a new scent (washing is boring, got to have something to look forward to!) So this was a bit of a disappointment but it suggested that it would be more skin friendly so a good thing I guess.

irie · 07/05/2016 10:29

I liked the smaller bottle, easy to store in my tiny kitchen. Love the smell but I always have I feel the concentrate lasts longer on my clothes than the standard one. Like the spout

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 07/05/2016 11:17

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?
The small bottle is cute and easy to store. On opening the smell is nice, quite strong but that is to be expected as it is concentrated.
Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
I liked the small bottle and the smell left on my washing. I can't say I noticed any difference in softness though

ShinyShinyShiny · 07/05/2016 13:26
  1. overall I quite liked the product. Nice bottle design, especially the spout. Only small amounts required so economical.

  2. I liked that the product didn't irritate my sensitive skin and was gentle enough to use on my son's clothes. The fragrance wasn't to my taste, I prefer Fairy Honey and Almond. I didn't notice a massive difference in the softness of our clothes compared to our usual conditioner.

monty79 · 07/05/2016 15:03

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

I was impressed with the new small, more compact design and shape of the bottle.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

I really loved the fragrance of the fabric conditioner and how soft it left my laundry

Loved it. Usually use Comfort Sandalwood and Honeysuckle but this smelt so much cleaner and not so 'smelly'. The easy pouring spout made it so much easier to administer the correct amount, rather than the slosh to in method that you have to use with the bigger bottles.

Used it on towels and bedding, other than the smell I didn't notice Hingis were softer but my husband asked if I'd done something different with one of the towels he uses during exercise and it 'seemed different!' High praise from a man who thinks little fairies launder his clothes and replace them in his wardrobe crease free and smelling nice!

PollyPerseid · 07/05/2016 16:03

I'm a big fan of fabric softeners and I'm always on the hunt for something new. I've tried Comfort Intense before in the Sunshine fragrance and it it my absolute favourite.

With regard to the Pure version, I like the packaging, the spout makes it very easy to pour - too easy really as I'm a bit generous with fabric softener so my bottle hasn't lasted as long as it should.

I liked the fragrance but it was a bit too faint for me and I don't think it made my clothes any softer really than my other one. Might be nice for baby clothes where you don't want a strong fragrance.

Thanks for letting me try it though!

TheToys · 07/05/2016 16:43
  1. Good, compact size for small kitchen and love the smell. Hugely tempted to use too much, so using this might end up being more costly than normal concentrate. No way I will eek 38 washes out of that bottle!
  1. Bottle could a bit firmer, maybe a bit more ergonomical to hold.
Ladylucky99 · 07/05/2016 16:44

I am overall very impressed. It is nice not to have to lug around a big bottle and to try and pour a big bottle Into a cap was always hard for me. I love the smell and found the small amount still worked well and made my clothes soft and smell lovely

GreyerbytheDay · 07/05/2016 17:35

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?
Generally good - does what it says it will, but I prefer a stronger scent and while I liked it I'm not sure it was good value for money.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
I liked the compact bottle - anything smaller is easier to store. The pouring spout was helpful to avoid spillage. It did make the clothes feel softer, although I did have to put a whole capful in to make the towels soft. The main thing i was disappointed about was the scent - very little scent - which might suit some people, but i prefer more of a fragrance.

MakeTeaNotWar · 07/05/2016 17:50

1: What was your overall impression of the product?

Bottle size is great - I can't store tall bottles in my cupboard so it's a perfect size. I also love the spout - no drippy mess.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

Like the scent - subtle and fresh. Like the bottle size and design as above. But it's a bit expensive - I'd buy it on special offer.

loosechange · 07/05/2016 18:40

Q1.
Small bottle, good for storage. I liked the measures according to the load size.

Q2.
The laundry was adequately soft, and I was happy with the result.

Nobrain · 07/05/2016 19:06

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?
Good

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
I liked the small bottle for storage convenience and the spout for pouring. Not mad on the fragrance.

Eva50 · 07/05/2016 20:23

What was your overall impression of the product
I was amazed that a little bottle that size would do 38 washes and thought the poring spout was useful. I'm finding I have to use more than the measured dose to get the softness I need so I don't expect it will do many more washes than the regular bottle.

What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
I love the size of the bottle (it fits into my little cupboard) and the spout is great. I'm not sure that it will work out to be cost effective.
