This is the feedback thread for the 500 Mumsnetters who tested Comfort Pure Ultra Concentrate.

Here’s what Comfort has to say: “We are pleased to launch the NEW Comfort Pure Ultra Concentrate. Following our fantastic launch of Comfort Intense last year, we were keen to offer an extension of this format suitable for sensitive skin. Comfort Pure Ultra Concentrate offers the same loved fragrance, amazing softness and performance as Comfort Pure, number 1 laundry brand for sensitive skin*, but from just a tiny dose! Just one cap (15ml) is needed in your washing load and comes in a convenient small pack, either 38 washes or 64 washes from most major retailers. Incredible softness, from just a tiny dose!”

*Based on AC Nielsen, MAT value sales, 19/03/16.

Thank you for sending the Comfort Pure Ultra Concentrate for me to try. :)

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?
My overall impression of the product is positive - a lovely smelling softener in a smaller bottle.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
I loved the smell - it's not too strong and overpowering and left just the right amount of scent on the clothes after washing. It also left the clothes lovely and soft.
In addition, I like the size of the bottle - much easier to fit in the cupboard.
I will definitely buy it again.

I really like that it's small, it takes up a lot less space and means it's easier to pour.
I use the normal version of this product anyway so I was glad to see it still smells lovely and gives the same result, the clothes are lovely and soft.
I'll probably buy this again unless the usual version is on offer.

Heathcliff27 · 06/05/2016 15:48

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

Loved it.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

Love the smell, I could smell it from my back door when the washing was hanging out on the line. Liquid was nice and thick. I was surprised at how little amount I had to use.

Bottle is thin plastic though and wasnt great to hold but this wouldnt put me off buying it. I buy comfort anyway but this was the first time I had used the concentrate type.

sleepyMe12 · 06/05/2016 17:03

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

I really liked this product the shape, size and smell were great.
Same great conditioning as the normal comfort pure.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

It Left my washing soft and Smelling clean without be over powering.
The shape and size is perfect for kitchens like mine (tiny).

The only downside is the price but I would stock up when on offer.

cherrytree63 · 06/05/2016 18:07

Overall impression is fairly positive, nice compact bottle, easy to hold and use.

Clothes came out soft, but disappointed with the weak scent.
Compact products suit me, but I'd need to hide it from my daughter as she likes to use plenty of fabric softener!

sharond101 · 06/05/2016 18:16

I liked the bottle and design. The smell was ok but not what I would choose. I found the recommended dose didn't give enough fragrance after washing so had to use more which negates the proposed benefit of the product.

clopper · 06/05/2016 18:26

Loved the fact that it was smaller which makes storage easier. I have arthritis and the smaller bottle was lighter and a better shape to handle.
The smell was pleasant and not overpowering. I think the softness was not noticeably different to my usual fabric conditioner. It seems expensive for the size, although it is a concentrate. So that may put some customers off. I think it needs to be made more obvious on the bottle about the small amount you need to use in order that customers look twice at it and realise it's not just an expensive small item (maybe make cap stand out more?).

DoubleMammy · 06/05/2016 19:04

Q1. I thought it was nice enough, however it didn’t strike me as being anything special
Q2. I liked the size and shape of the bottle. I thought the smell was quite nice but fairly weak - I couldn’t really smell it on the clothes once they had come out of the machine. They did seem soft though and there was no oily feeling which I have had once or twice with other fabric softeners I’ve used in the past.

I’d only buy this if it was on special offer or there was no alternative. I use the Aldi white one at the moment and quite honestly I didn't find this was any better, but thank you for the opportunity to give it a go.

AGnu · 06/05/2016 19:19

We use Comfort Pure & didn't notice much difference, other than using less. The bottles aren't the easiest to hold - the larger size is a bit of a juggling act trying to hold the bottle while pouring into the tiny cap. The bottle flexes quite easily so you can't hold it too tight but it's not a shape that's easy to get your hands round. We tend to buy whichever Comfort Pure offers the best value for money so may buy it again, but if all else were even then we'd buy one of the easier to hold bottles.

  1. I liked this new Comfort. My washing smelt fresh without the fragrance being overpowering, perfect for my little ones clothes. Good to see the company are trying to reduce bottle sizes and tge amount of plastic used.
  1. I liked the spout to pour out the product and the way my washing felt soft and smelt nice. There was nothing to dislike.
ladygracie · 06/05/2016 19:26

My overall impression is of a nice gentle smell, not strong (I do like strong smelling fabric conditioner). I used the correct amount which felt like much less than normal & I had to stop myself adding more. The bottle looks very appealing & reminds me of Fairy which I normally use.
Like- packaging is appealing, clothes feel soft.
Dislike - It didn't really smell of anything. Nothing else.

ladygracie · 06/05/2016 19:27

Sorry, I also liked the spout and the size of it.

GruffaloPants · 06/05/2016 19:29

I liked the bottle. It was a good size, not too big, feels nice to the touch.

The conditioner had a nice, light smell. Much better than some others that can be overpowering. Clothes felt nice and soft.

MrsLouisTomlinson · 06/05/2016 20:30

Overall impression was a nice smelling product in a neat compact bottle.

What I liked/disliked. I like my washing to smell strongly of fabric conditioner so the scent wasn't strong enough for me following washing although it was lovely in the bottle. For my bedding I used twice the recommended doseage and it was still quite faint but if that suits you then it's a great product. The RRP of £3.80 is steep and I'm unlikely to buy it again at that price although would consider it when on offer.

RhubarbAndMustard · 06/05/2016 20:38

I use Comfort Pure anyway but the smaller bottle really appealed in terms of easy storage and not having so many heavy bottles to carry from the weekly shop.

Our laundry smelt clean after washing and drying but there was no discernible fragrance which would make me want to add more, cancelling out the 'concentrate' element. I wouldn't say the clothes were particularly soft afterwards (tested drying both indoors and on the line).

I wouldn't buy this at the full price - only if it was on offer.

garlicbreathing · 06/05/2016 20:48

Q1. I really like the design. Easy to pour and nice and compact so it fits nicely under the sink.
Q2. I usually go for stronger, more fragrant scents, but I was pleasantly surprised with the smell. It was strong enough and the clothes are so soft, I think softer than the other comforts I normally use. I would buy this again, on rotation of my usual choices.

foxessocks · 06/05/2016 20:54
  1. I liked the compact bottle and the packaging design it was very appealing. The smell was very nice but not hugely different to my normal products.
  1. I didn't notice much difference in softness and fragrance so I wouldn't spend more money on it as I don't really see the benefits.
Ditsy79 · 06/05/2016 21:00

1 - Overall impression : Lovely smell, leaves clothes nice and soft. Not something I would usually buy, as I don't use fabric softener.
2 - Easy to store as it is a small container.

exWifebeginsat40 · 06/05/2016 21:06

I use Comfort Pure in any case as my skin is ridiculously sensitive.

the new condensed product does smell stronger. after hanging out the wash, my whole flat smelled lovely.

the skin on my hands did react though. I'm going to give it a fair go and wear the clothes I washed in it.

compact size is perfect for under the sink and it does represent good value for money.

CheeseEMouse · 06/05/2016 21:12

My impression of the product was a nice neat bottle with a nice amelling conditioner inside.

What i particularly liked about the product was the neat spout on the bottle - made it really easy to pour.

Whyisitsodifficult · 06/05/2016 21:14

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?
Nice to have a much smaller bottle as they're normally a lot larger.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
I washed some towels then line dried them which normally results in crispy towels but I felt that they were softer this time. I don't like the lid as felt it was too small, I have a larger capacity washing machine so needed to fill it to the top.

nc060 · 06/05/2016 21:42

Product was great and it's handy as the same size bottle goes much further so no need to buy a new bottle as often

StillNoFuckingEyeDeer · 06/05/2016 21:43

Liked the smaller, compact bottle. It's a nice shape too. Much easier to carry home, store and use.

Liked the smell, but it's not that strong after washing. However, for me that's a good thing. I don't like string scents from my clothes, I just want them to smell clean.

My laundry was lively and soft.

I liked the product, but I'd only buy it if it was economical compared to other products.

FannyFanakapan · 06/05/2016 21:57

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

I already use comfort pure, as I have a son who comes out in hives from other products. So Im already a fan of the contents. Great little bottle, I've always wondered why fabric conditioner had to come in such big, unwieldy containers.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

I loved the smaller bottle, - easier to handle and I like the idea of less packaging/recycling.

Not sure I could justify the price. Have they considered using disposable pouch refills to reduce the price?
