This is the feedback thread for the 500 Mumsnetters who tested Comfort Pure Ultra Concentrate.

Here’s what Comfort has to say: “We are pleased to launch the NEW Comfort Pure Ultra Concentrate. Following our fantastic launch of Comfort Intense last year, we were keen to offer an extension of this format suitable for sensitive skin. Comfort Pure Ultra Concentrate offers the same loved fragrance, amazing softness and performance as Comfort Pure, number 1 laundry brand for sensitive skin*, but from just a tiny dose! Just one cap (15ml) is needed in your washing load and comes in a convenient small pack, either 38 washes or 64 washes from most major retailers. Incredible softness, from just a tiny dose!”

*Based on AC Nielsen, MAT value sales, 19/03/16.

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?
Nice packaging.
Love the small bottle as it saves on cupboard space.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
Struggled to smell it on the clothes so needed to use a bit more than half a cap
Loved the smaller bottle though.

buize · 09/05/2016 21:34
  1. I I use this product anyway so am satisfied with its effectiveness as a fabric softener. It is also mild and doesn't irritate my skin.
  2. ) I like the small compact bottle as it is easier to carry and takes up less storage. The spout was also handy for pouring out the correct amount. Sometimes on the larger bottles I over fill.
FurbysMakeSexNoises · 09/05/2016 22:04
  1. Bottle is fine nice compact size and bottle cap pours well
  1. Smell is subtle. Fresh laundry smell- first time my son has actually commented on his fresh sheets smelling nice.
clairedunphy · 10/05/2016 08:24

My overall impression is good on the whole. I like the bottle size and pouring spout. The smell is nice although a little strong and sickly for my taste. The price seems quite high.

I usually use Tesco own brand Pure. It's good value and often on offer. The smell is nice but not as strong, which I like. There's nothing about the trial that makes me want to swap.

CwtchyQ · 10/05/2016 08:43

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

A little went a long way - I was surprised at the strength of fragrance considering I'd only used a little and done a fairly big wash. A quality product.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

I'm not sure I like the smell much, but otherwise it's a great product.

Sadieatthebridge · 10/05/2016 10:14

Thanks very much for letting me try the fabric conditioner Smile

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

The bottle was a stylish small design. I liked the fact that it took up less room. This is the kind of softener I would usually buy - the 'white' one. Although I usually get shop's own sensitive.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

I did not notice any increased scent or softness. TBH, I don't really believe that using fabric conditioner makes much difference to softness - more the way that the item is dried - towels will be fluffed up in a dryer (I don't own one), and always better dried on the line than on a radiator, regardless of softener used.

The lack of smell didn't bother me - I'd prefer my clothes not to smell of anything really - a strong scent = chemicals IMO.

The pouring spout was annoying as it was slanted so had to be poured from the correct position. I did spill the liquid on one occasion.

The small bottle size was great. But is that a new thing? I thought we'd been able to buy concentrated softeners for ages? I did think that the double amount required for less than double the kg load was a bit weird.

I'd only buy it if it was on special and worked out cheaper than the shop's own sensitive brand.

LindsayLancs · 10/05/2016 11:14

I found the smaller bottle easier to store and the pouring spout was very useful to avoid spills. In terms of performance, I didn't notice any difference to the normal Comfort Pure. I used the smaller dose on my first load but I didn't think the clothes were as soft as I would like. On my second load, I used a full cap and the clothes were softer. I dried the washing on the line and I have to say that whilst most of the washing was soft, the towels were still quite stiff. It all smelt lovely and I probably would buy it in the future.

glasgowlass · 10/05/2016 11:16
  1. Our overall impression is very positive. I like the compactness of the bottle. I love the fact that the scent remains even after tumble drying & my laundry smells very fresh.
  1. The scent lingers for ages which I love.
I don't dislike anything about product to be honest & would happily swap with my regular softener. Very impressed.
caz1010 · 10/05/2016 11:50

I really like it. My laundry is left soft and smelling nice. The fragrance is not too strong.
I really like the small bottle. It's east to dispense but also a lot easier to carry back from the shops
Overall I'm really happy and there isn't anything I don't like about it.

moneypenny66 · 10/05/2016 12:59

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

Very positive. It has a lovely smell and I noticed a real difference in softness. I washed my sheets with it and felt how soft they were as soon as I pulled them out of the machine.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

I loved the smell.
The spout is very good for pouring precise amounts.
The small bottle is easy to store and pick up.
Nothing to dislike.

rachel98450 · 10/05/2016 13:13

I love the compact shape of the bottle. The smell was very fresh and pleasant. after the wash our clothes didnt smell any different i am afraid. Maybe this is because its gentle for babies.

TrixieBernadette · 10/05/2016 13:27

Mine got lost by the post office! Just picked it up today a week later. Can't open it, as took a peek and it's surrounded by polystyrene bits and I have a HUGE thing about the feel and noise of it and can't touch it!! Will get DP to do it for me later, and I have a wash to put on tonight all waiting :-)

ZigZagIntoTheBlue · 10/05/2016 13:35

Q1: What was your overall impression of this product?
Good first impression, overall would probably but again if discounted
Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
I loved the spout, made it very easy to pour out. The smell is nice but I've had to go sniff the bottle to discern it, it's not made my clothes smell of anything and I've done several washes with it now as every time I went to write the review I couldn't think of what it smelt like. They're no softer than with other softeners but I do live in a very hard water area.

Intotheclouds · 10/05/2016 14:08

Q1. Overall impression. I like it, like the smell and how soft it made my clothes.

Q2. I like the spout as it made it easier to pour. The smell is nice but it didn't really stay on the clothes after they had dried. That might be something to do with is being for sensitive/babies skin.

Overall I'm happy with the product and will most likely be buying it again.

snowplop · 10/05/2016 14:31

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

I really liked it and would probably buy it again. It did exactly the same job as the usual Comfort - produced lovely soft clothes with a very light, fresh fragrance.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

I love the smaller size. Thanks.

Sooner · 10/05/2016 14:34

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?
I liked it. The smaller packaging appeal to me for saving space and is a brand I've used before and been impressed with.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
Really liked the smell, size of bottle. The spout worked well. Wouldn't say clothes are loads softer but no worse than previous products.

tandt5 · 10/05/2016 14:46

Overall I liked the product. Both of my kids have sensitive skin and one of them has eczema so I always choose laundry products to address their needs. The washed clothes felt soft and the smell of the conditioner was pleasant but subtle (maybe a bit too subtle). The size and the bottle design look very appealing and the spout made pouring very easy.

Tantrictantrum · 10/05/2016 15:09

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

Couldn't tell any difference to normal brand of sensitive conditioner performance wise

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

I like the bottle size very handy

Salukigirl · 10/05/2016 15:10

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?
I was surprised that it had quite a strong smell as often when buying hte "Pure" type softeners they are lacking in perfume for allergy reasons. It hasn't caused any problems on my baby son's skin so far however i have noticed a new slight rash on my older son's arms and legs although I am not certain this is related to the softener, this will take more trials to ascertain if they are related.
Clothes that were air dried retained the scent and were a bit softer than usual, I don't usually use softener. I found that jumpers came out with less creases than before.

Clothes dried in the tumble dryer weren't much different to unsoftened clothes, the scent had faded quite a bit and I find the tumble dryer softens clothes quite nicely. I will continue using the softener in washes with clothes not being tumble dried.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
I liked that the bottles were small, meaning they would easier to carry home from the shop, or even in a basket whilst shopping. I liked the scent as often they are unscented.
I didn't like the top of the bottle, I found it quite difficult to grip. I don't have any joint issues but I can imagine that people with stiff hands or difficulty opening bottles in general will struggle with the shape of this top.

Fillybuster · 10/05/2016 15:24

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

The bottle seemed disconcertingly small, but that's because I've slowly adjusted to absolutely massive bottles which don't fit anywhere near my machine! Nice smell - slightly stronger than normal.

Product worked as well as better than supermarket brand - as I would expect, tbh. Dd2s eczema seems less affected than by our normal brand.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
I really like the bottle size - feels much more manageable.
Pouring felt very controlled (because of smaller bottle size) and much less messy.
I like the smaller sized lid : one of my pet hates are the huge lids that come with the very big bottles that encourage you too use a lot more fabric conditioner than actually required.

Fayerobinson · 10/05/2016 15:57

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?
I love this product. Very impressed with it
Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
I love the smaller bottle and easy spout. Fits much better in cupboard. Love the fact you don't have to use much and get more for ur money. The freshness and softness is fantastic. Will highly recommend to my family and friends

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?
It made my clothes smell nice and they felt as soft as with a regular softener.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?
I like the smaller bottle, much easier to store under the sink. I would have preferred the spout to be a complete circle so I didn't have to turn the bottle to put it out

pazanne · 10/05/2016 19:27

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

I like the packaging size a lot

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

The price would put me off a little

MiamiNaice · 10/05/2016 20:20

Q1: What was your overall impression of the product?

I liked the bottle design and colours, I liked the easy pouring spout and felt I could control the amount of liquid used. I thought that it made my laundry really soft, probably softer than my usual fabric conditioner. Overall I liked and would use again.

Q2: What did you like/dislike about the product? Why?

I didn't really like the fact that it didn't really smell of anything. I expected a fabric conditioner to make my laundry soft and smell nice. It did make it very soft but the smell wasn't there for me. I would definitely buy if it gave a good smell to my laundry
