-How easy was the decorating kit to use?
It was fairly straightforward but not very effective - we were disappointed at the texture of the icing as it was too runny to use properly. The egg came with a big crack in it but we still managed to do the activity.
-Did your DCs enjoy the activity?
DD (7) really enjoyed it, though she was a bit frustrated with the icing and felt she could have done a bit better. She loved doing the activity and enjoyed eating the leftover icing out of the tube. The crack in the egg didn't spoil things too much.
-Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?
DD couldn't wait to eat it and thoroughly enjoyed making and tasting it
-Would you recommend this kit to a friend?
The concept is really good but the end product is too flawed as the texture of the icing wasn't right. The inclusion of a few coloured sweets inside to 'glue' on would make it far more attractive.

How easy was the decorating kit to use?

The DC (4 and 6) did struggle with the icing and getting it out of the tube. They also found keeping the icing on the egg tricky. It did run a lot.

-Did your DCs enjoy the activity?

Yes, both the eating and the decorating! We did add some different coloured icing after the original pictures as they felt that the white was a bit boring. Some additional sweets to stick on would have been good.

-Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?

Yes, they adored the tasting part! As always, Cadbury's chocolate is lovely.

-Would you recommend this kit to a friend?

Honestly, I would not recommend it. They enjoyed the activity but I felt that it was rather sparse and disappointing. More sweets were needed to enable better decoration of the egg. I also felt that the icing did not work in the current format. It made things tricky for the children. A number of different icing pens would work better. If those issues were addressed I would consider purchasing.

Ours also arrived broken but as DS is only 4 it actually worked out fine.
Kit was very simple to use and even more so as egg was in smaller, more manageable pieces.
DS did enjoy this activity as it was quite quick and simple. He was very keen to eat the egg, as we all were.
He decorated my piece of the egg with a little heart which was sweet. We really enjoyed eating the very delicious Cadburys egg.
It was a nice idea and I would definitely recommend to others although I am unsure how much extra the tube of icing adds to the price.
So glad we were picked for this fun, tasty activity.

Unfortunately our egg arrived broken too but we did some decorating regardless.

-How easy was the decorating kit to use?

The icing tube was quite hard too use and didn't really allow us to decorate the egg properly.

-Did your DCs enjoy the activity?

My DC enjoyed this, although I did add some sweets for them to stick on as they bickered over the one tube of icing.

-Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?

They enjoyed it very much!

-Would you recommend this kit to a friend?

I would probably only recommend this if it came with more icing tubes or sweets to decorate.

-How easy was the decorating kit to use?
I marked the egg into 4 equal parts with the icing pen, which was fairly easy, so every child including me had their own part on the egg they could decorate. For me, 8yr old and 5yr old getting the icing out of the tube was no problem. The 3yr old needed a bit of help.
Mostly it was no problem getting the icing out of the tubing, however to make something recognisable with it was a different question. It was easiest to make a bit of a pattern on the egg, but figures like they show you on the box was a bit out of reach for us.
-Did your DCs enjoy the activity?
Yes, all three of them very much enjoyed squirting the icing over the chocolate egg.
-Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?
Yes, we all did. It just tasted like a normal Cadbury's egg would with some icing put on top.
-Would you recommend this kit to a friend?
Depends on the price they are going to sell it for. It might work out cheaper to buy your own tube of icing and use that on any other Cadbury egg.
-We’d also love to see photographs of your decorating skills and original creations.
So sorry, we ate it before we even had the chance to make a picture of it Blush

-How easy was the decorating kit to use?
It was actually pretty difficult. Not because of the shape of the egg or positioning (the stand is a great idea and worked great). The reason we had so much trouble was that the first half of the icing was super runny and then the 2nd half was far too hard to push out of the tube. We did squish the tube lots before we began to try and ensure it had a consistent texture but, alas, to no prevail

-Did your DCs enjoy the activity?
My daughter still loved decorating the egg. She made the running icing its hair and the thicker icing was it's eyes. One tip would be to including some little sweets in the kit to do my decorating, other than just the icing. We were going to, until I released that we had already eaten the toppings the day before lol

-Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?
The egg was delicious, as expected, as it was the same cadbury chocolate that you get for any cadbury easter egg. The icing didn't really give it any more (or less flavour)

-Would you recommend this kit to a friend?
Truthfully, no :( The icing was just too difficult to use. If you sort the icing and throw in some other ways to decorate the egg (little mini toppings, 2 different nozzles for the icing, etc) then I may be swayed. I'm afraid I'm going to just buy our usual Cadbury eggs this year :)

How easy was the decorating kit to use?

The first attempt had to be wiped clean as it was just a gloopy, runny mess but the second attempt was better. My 2 children did a side each and both struggled to squeeze out the thicker icing from the tube (aged 7 and 9).

Did your DCs enjoy the activity?

Yes they did. I bought extra treats to stick on to make it more interesting.

Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?

They loved the egg but they love Cadbury. I asked if the icing had tasted nice but neither said they had particularly tasted it.

Would you recommend this kit to a friend?

It depends on the price and also I think a little packet of sweets would have been better than just the icing. My children enjoyed it though, it was something different which they managed to do without arguing!

Well we were hugely impressed that an Easter egg sent in a Jiffy bag, taken to the sorting office and then collected by us survived! A robust egg indeed!

-How easy was the decorating kit to use?
Very easy (I had had a glance through some previous comments, so recommended that my son decorate it on its side so the icing didn't slip off)

-Did your DCs enjoy the activity?
Yes, he was keen to do it and seemed to enjoy it. Although it was done within about 5 mins really. (He's 10)

-Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?
Of course! He said it was too small!

-Would you recommend this kit to a friend?
Probably not really. We enjoyed the activity and appreciate being sent the egg but both of my sons said they'd rather have an egg with sweets or chocolates inside!

How easy was the decorating kit to use? It was easy enough for my three.

-Did your DCs enjoy the activity? My eldest and youngest really enjoyed it, the middle one said it was boring but funnily enough still wanted to have a go!

-Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg? Yes it was hoovered up very quickly.

-Would you recommend this kit to a friend? I think it needs improvements as others have said, White icing alone is a bit limited. So different colours and some mini toppings would make me think it was worth it.
Overall a new idea which mine did enjoy using just could be made better with some tweaks.

In theory the kit is easy enough to use but in practice the icing is just too runny. We ended up breaking it in half so that we could lie the halves down to see if that improved things.

My 6 and 8 year olds enjoyed decorating the egg but we're both looking in the box for other colours. I think a second colour of icing and maybe some mini smarties to stick on would make it a lot more enjoyable.

We all loved the taste!

I don't think I would recommend the kit as it is at the moment (sorry!) I think we would have had more fun buying a standard egg and some icing pens/sweets separately.

Our egg arrived in 1 piece so that's good. Dcs are 13,11 and 7; found the kit easy to use although youngest had trouble squeezing the icing so I squeezed and he moved it around. All 3 loved doing it, they were very excited when it arrived and definitely not disappointed. The taste of the egg and icing was good, and as a bonus for us it was gluten free so all could have some

How easy was the decorating kit to use?
We were unable to use the kit as it arrived broken.

Did your DCs enjoy the activity?
My boys would have enjoyed decorating the egg.

Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?
It's chocolate - what's not to love.

Would you recommend this kit to a friend?
Depends on the cost. I usually have small tubes of icing in my cupboard so would probably use them rather than spend too much more than usual just for a little tube of icing and a cardboard stand.

Ours also arrived broken so we didn't decorate it but the boys loved eating it! As previous posters had said i think if the icing was better and there were sweets/sprinkles etc to stick on then this would be a fab idea however as is it's just a bit boring.

Thanks so much for the chocolate though!

Only half the egg survived the journey...

How easy was the decorating kit to use?
After reading some of the reviews I had decided not to use the support whilst decorating to stop the icing from running. Then we only had half an egg so just laid it on the table. The icing still ran!

Did your DCs enjoy the activity?
Yes, but it lasted literally 10 secs before the icing re-hardened!

Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?
Yes of course!

Would you recommend this kit to a friend?
Sorry but no. In theory great idea, but in practice just doesn't work.

Thankfully ours arrived in one piece!
Using the icing was rather messy at first as after warming it up it was far too thin and dripped everywhere, decided to leave it a minute (while I halved the egg as going to be much easier for both kids to decorate, minus the stand) and the icing was much easier to use.
Boys 8 & 5 both loved decorating it - not crafty kids but enjoyed this activity as it involved eating their masterpiece after!
Egg was devoured in no time at all so guessing they enjoyed the taste .... who doesn't like chocolate?
Yes would recommend this - actually saw it in Sainsburys today and bought some for nieces and nephews.
Thanks for including us in another one of your trials.

Again a scrambled egg here too. However we still had a play.

How easy was the decorating kit to use?
The icing was a little hard to get out at first so left in the water a little longer. It was then easy for my nearly 3 year old to use. He enjoyed squidding it out. However a more arty type or older may find it too runny with and hard to draw proprly.
-Did your DCs enjoy the activity?

Yes but didnt hold his attention for long. Maybe if it was pieces and a whole he may have stayed with it longer. My nieces would have loved it as tbey are older. However probably still need more to it, like sweets to stick on or edible glitter.
-Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?

Sort of, but he has to be in the mood for chocolate, however both hubby and I liked the usual cadbury taste!!

-Would you recommend this kit to a friend?

I want to as I really love cadbury, but sadly no I wouldn't. I think they have a great concept but have to admit I was underwelmed. Maybe they need to look at their marvallous creations for inspiration. They could even just put suggestions on their normal egg.

Maybe my mind got too charlie and the chocolate factory carried away when I heard about the egg!!

Thank you for the chance of trying it, a parcel with chocolate is a lovely treat!!

He really enjoyed decorating the egg

-Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?
Yes, he loves Cadbury's chocolate and was thrilled that he could eat it before Easter!

-Would you recommend this kit to a friend?
Yes, it was a fun activity for children although it would have been nice if there was more bits to decorate the egg with.

Ours too was smashed to pieces.
Genuinely astonished that anyone thought sending a chocolate egg in a bag and not a box would be sufficient Hmm

Dd (3.7) loved the concept. She enjoyed he idea of decorating it and we used the icing on some of the pieces. She was unable to squeeze it herself though. It was simply too hard for her to press and control at the same time.
Icing was extremely runny and thin.

She enjoyed the chocolate and shared it with her younger brother and I ate a fair bit myself
This is more like the cadburys I remember but there is still a strange palm-oily after taste. Kids didn't complain at all.

I wouldn't recommend it to any of my other mum friends as our children are all similar age. I might suggest it for older kids but i think it's just an egg and some water icing... Which could be reproduced very easily and cheaply at home.

Thanks for the free egg though!! Chocolate

What a shame that all the eggs arrived in pieces! Ours had one half still intact so we were still able to try it out.

How easy was the decorating kit to use?
Not particularly. The icing was too thin and runny and DD found it really frustrating.

Did your DCs enjoy the activity?
DD loves anything crafty so she was very excited about it. Unfortunately it was a bit disappointing. She was quite upset with the end result until I showed her some of the other photos on this thread!

Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?
Yes, that was definitely the best bit!

Would you recommend this kit to a friend?
I'm afraid not. It was a great concept but a pretty rubbish kit if I'm honest. A better icing pen and some sweets for decoration and it would have been a winner.

Thanks for letting us test the product.

I opened our egg this afternoon to decorate, and sadly it too was completely crushed Sad. I tried the icing on a very small bit and it seemed ok, no worse than other writing icings we have tried.

I think the stand bit was a bit basic; maybe include a mug or egg cup, for a more permanent souvenir?

The chocolate was nice, and DS (2) enjoyed that, as did I.

I will definitely recommend decorating Easter eggs to my small child owning friends.

I think this kit needs more to it to be a winner. Not necessarily different coloured icings, but maybe some chocolate shapes to stick on.

Thanks for picking us to be involved. Sadly our egg also turned up smashed in tiny pieces- all very small so decorating was completely impractical.

How easy was the decorating kit to use?
Sadly can't comment due to egg being broken but we tried to push the icing through the tube and it was quite tricky to do, although it tasted ok.

-Did your DCs enjoy the activity?
They would have done if they had been able to, although my eldest was a bit disappointed to discover that even if we purchased a new egg it was really just a tube of icing and nothing more.

-Did your DC enjoy the taste of the egg?
Yes but then they would have enjoyed any cadbury egg and that was essentially what this was.

-Would you recommend this kit to a friend?
Sadly not- regardless of the fact we couldn't do the activity I feel this is extremely overpriced for what you are getting- I saw them today on sale at £3 and yet a Cadbury buttons one of the same size was £1.25 and all you get is a tiny tube of icing- AND you loose out on the buttons! I think it could be a really good idea but has been thrown together on the cheap and tried to sell as something more than it is- add some sprinkles and another colour icing and you have a nice little product OR retail at £1.25 - £1.50 and it is perfectly acceptable.

Thanks for the chocolate- even completely smashed it still goes down well here!
