This thread is for the Mumsnetters who have been trying Little Dish chilled toddler meals and their new range of My First Pizzas.

Here’s what Little Dish say, “When Hillary was expecting her first baby, she realised that you couldn’t buy healthy, home-cooked style meals for toddlers and young children in the shops. She set out to create a range of delicious, nutritious food made from 100% natural ingredients…and so Little Dish was born. Nearly 10 years on, we’re proud to feed around 100k little ones every week. Every Little Dish toddler meal is perfectly nutritionally balanced for a 1 to 3 year old –providing a source of protein and at least 1 portion of veg, low in salt, with no added sugar, additives or preservatives. Our new My First Pizzas are not only delicious (as approved by our Tiny Tasters) – they also provide 1 portion of veg each, contain 35% less salt than the average children’s chilled pizza and of course have no added sugar, additives or preservatives.”

Below are a few questions for you to answer about trying Little Dish meals and pizzas with your DCs – feel free to add any other thoughts you may have though, we’d love to hear them.

Little Dish meals

  • What was your overall impression of Little Dish meals?
Loved the packaging, they are the perfect size for my 2.5 year old. She enjoyed all the meals and they were easy for her to eat with her fork - she gets frustrated with anything she can't manage on her own.
  • Which was your child’s favourite meal?
The cheese ravioli, my dd ate every last scrap of it.
  • Would you recommend Little Dish meals to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would as a meal when you are short on time to prepare anything.

Little Dish My First Pizzas

  • What was your overall impression of Little Dish My First Pizzas?
That the seemed a bit small, but they are have quite a thick base so was enough for my dd. I think she would have liked a bit more topping on them and for the base to be a bit thinner as it was quite a lot for her to chew through
  • Which was your child’s favourite pizza?
The cheese and tomato, although she liked them all
  • Would you recommend Little Dish pizzas to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not?
Maybe, depending on the price. I often buy the supermarket own ones and add my own toppings and these are very cheap
  • What other healthy, natural food would you like Little Dish to make?
Some healthy desserts, and child friendly soups would be good
shoebedo434 · 12/08/2015 23:43

tried by my 3 year old son
1st meal - classic beef lasagne - this was his favourite, he made yum yum noises and ate almost every bit
2nd meal - cottage pie with seven veg - lots of potato, not much mince or gravy, he took big spoonfuls and said it was nice
3rd meal - spaghetti with mini meatballs - plenty of meatballs and spaghetti, took big mouthfuls, really loved the spaghetti, said was nice
4th meal - the 3 pizzas, he liked the cheese and tomato pizza, ate almost all of it, he didn't like the meatball and vegetable pizza at all and only took one bite, he was unsure about the pesto chicken and vegetables, didn't like the look of it but did say yum when he took a bite but didn't want to eat any more
5th meal - alphabet pasta Bolognese - it looked nice, there was a lot of mince and pasta, ate almost all of it
6th meal - mini cheese ravoli with tom and veg sauce - had a strong smell, he liked the ravoli but not the sauce or veg, had to scrape this off the ravoli as he ate it, did not finish it
he really liked the designs on the boxes
overall I would buy the meals for him, quick and easy to make and the right size for him but I wouldn't buy the pizzas. too fancy, he didn't really like them

Little Dish meals

  • What was your overall impression of Little Dish meals?

Really tasty, big hit. They liked the colouring in on the other side of the product sleeves too. I liked the fact that low salt.

  • Which was your child’s favourite meal?

Turkey meatballs and all the pizzas were a big hit.

  • Would you recommend Little Dish meals to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would because as much as we all try to cook from scratch, some days when you get home late from a day out, it's handy to have someone do the cooking for you!

Little Dish My First Pizzas

  • What was your overall impression of Little Dish My First Pizzas?

Vanished in seconds, the packaging will look nice. I'd just like a little more cheese on it for them, but DC hadn't said :)

  • Which was your child’s favourite pizza?
Liked all of them but meatballs particular favourite. Also were requesting pepperoni, but then that's very salty.
  • Would you recommend Little Dish pizzas to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not?

Definitely recommend. Lower sodium and good portion size, means healthier than supermarket own.

  • What other healthy, natural food would you like Little Dish to make?

I think anything low sugar/sodium but free of additives or sweeteners. For example fish fingers or chicken nuggets and vegetable chips.

LittleLostRoeDeer · 13/08/2015 08:38

Little Dish meals

  • What was your overall impression of Little Dish meals? I was initially very pleased with them. They liked attractive, clear and bright packaging and there seemed a lot there for us to try. However, once I realised there were only two veggie meals included in all of it, I felt a little disappointed. I tried a couple of them and I did feel they were a little bland. I liked that they could be cooked in the microwave from frozen; however, they did look very watery and a bit oily once cooked. They smelt tasty though.
  • Which was your child’s favourite meal?

Well mine could only actually try the cheese and tomato ravioli and the cheese pizza. I also invited some friends round with their toddlers to try them as mine could eat so little of it. Between them they tried the other meat pizzas, the cottage pie and the alphabet pasta bolognaise. One little girl loved the pasta and ate the whole thing within minutes. The little boy who had the cottage pie hardly ate anything of it and really had to be encouraged to try some more. My kids ate the ravioli; my 8 month old loved it and my daughter ate it, but left lots of sauce. She said it was nice but wouldn't say it was yummy.

  • Would you recommend Little Dish meals to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not? Probably not. Two of my friends who's children tried them said they would buy them again; mainly for the same reason that they tasted a bit bland and the kids weren't that interested in them. One dad (who's little girl loved the pasta) said he would buy them, but he buys ready meals and convenience food anyway; he felt they seemed healthier than other things and it was a good portion size

Little Dish My First Pizzas

  • What was your overall impression of Little Dish My First Pizzas? They looked good and smelt delicious when cooking; however they were bland and not that tasty to eat. Packaging looks good - bright and cheerful but not too gaudy. It gives the impression that these are healthier than normal Pizzas.
  • Which was your child’s favourite pizza?

None of them. None of the kids liked any of the pizzas they tried.

  • Would you recommend Little Dish pizzas to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not?

No, they need more flavouring on them, herbs of some kind. I'd be more likely to just buy/make a cheap pizza base and add my own toppings.

  • What other healthy, natural food would you like Little Dish to make? Some kind of dessert maybe that snuck in some fruit and veg. It's difficult to find puddings to make, other than fruit and yoghurt/custard, that feels like a treat to them but isn't just packed full of junk. More veggie options for ready meals would tempt me more to buy them.
Wabbit1 · 13/08/2015 08:50

So far we've tried the pizzas - we don't ear beef so we didn't try the meatball one.

The cheese and tomato was a winner, I added some sweet corn to mine, mine are used to eating the veg and preferred it with a bit more texture. Liked that there were carrots in the base.

I felt the cheese was a bit scant - but it cuts down on salt. We don't add salt to anything so was a bit worried about introducing it to their diet but found that it was quite bland (in a good way!)

I have twins so we split the pizza and one loves it, the other only had a few bites. She is fussy and needs to try something a few times before committing!

I'm afraid the pesto chicken wasn't a favourite. I think the flavours were too strong for mine, so they only ate it with the chicken off.

I was hoping that the chicken wasn't processed. I don't like giving them reformed chicken.

Would buy the cheese and tomato again, and I like the boxes, very colourful and funky.

Pizdets · 13/08/2015 09:26

Little Dish meals

  • What was your overall impression of Little Dish meals? - Generally good, nice packaging, looked like 'real food' - although one of the packets had split so everything was covered in tomato sauce which was a shame
  • Which was your child’s favourite meal?
Turkey meatballs - wen down a treat!
  • Would you recommend Little Dish meals to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I already have, easy and healthy food - especially good for us this week as the Rayburn broke down so I can't cook anything!

Little Dish My First Pizzas

  • What was your overall impression of Little Dish My First Pizzas?
Look a bit sparse on top
  • Which was your child’s favourite pizza?
He liked all of them
  • Would you recommend Little Dish pizzas to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes but not as highly as the ready meals - they could do with more topping! I added extra cheese to the last two.
  • What other healthy, natural food would you like Little Dish to make?
Snack food would be good - muffins or low sugar buscuits that don't taste like cardboard.
hebrideanprincess · 13/08/2015 13:42

Little Dish meals

  • What was your overall impression of Little Dish meals? - Looked nice, packaging was bright but unfortunately my little one did not like any of them.
  • Which was your child?s favourite meal? - As above, he didn't like any of them
  • Would you recommend Little Dish meals to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not? - I probably would to friends as they seem like a reasonably healthly, quick meal for children, just not for my fussy little one.

Little Dish My First Pizzas

  • What was your overall impression of Little Dish My First Pizzas? - Nice size, perhaps a little bit more cheese would have been better.
  • Which was your child?s favourite pizza? - Cheese and tomato was the firm favourite!
  • Would you recommend Little Dish pizzas to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not? - Yes, I would. They are a good size and are fairly healthly in comparision to small sized 'normal' pizzas.
  • What other healthy, natural food would you like Little Dish to make? - Would be nice to see some soups, my children like soup and it is a good way to get them eating vegetables. I tend to make my own but sometimes don't have time and so far, they don't like processed soup!
paddlenorapaddle · 13/08/2015 13:44

Little Dish meals

  • What was your overall impression of Little Dish meals?
*I really like them they were authentic, with good quality ingredients liked the naturally low sugar content which meant that they werent trying to hide the ingredients with sugar and salt. Loved the look of the packaging and the activities on the back were brilliant. Portion size was just right for a toddler
  • Which was your child’s favourite meal?
Turkey meatballs and Orzo pasta which shouldnt be a limited edition
  • Would you recommend Little Dish meals to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes for the ingredients and sugar content alone

Little Dish My First Pizzas

  • What was your overall impression of Little Dish My First Pizzas?
Liked the size, and taste but you shouldnt be afraid of a bit more seasoning
  • Which was your child’s favourite pizza?
Chicken and pesto great amount of topping and just the right size but to be fair they were all good, I used these for a toddlers picnic and the little ones loved them
  • Would you recommend Little Dish pizzas to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would for all of the above reason but mostly the ingredients and the portion size
  • What other healthy, natural food would you like Little Dish to make?

Picnic munchies, and puddings

Sylviasmothersays · 13/08/2015 14:42

Packaging was excellent and everything arrived in a great condition - mini coolbag will be useful for other picnics!

What was your overall impression of Little Dish meals?

The packaging is good and attractive to the dc (4) and (3) and 11 months.

They seemed to enjoy all of them and ate most of all of them up. We had a bit of a tasting session so they tried 2 or 3 in one sitting. The fussier, middle DC was actually more keen than dc1 who eats anything.

Looking at the ingredients list, I was quite disappointed at the amount of meat contained in them. For example, the chicken meals seemed to only have 15% chicken. Given they are reasonably expensive, I would expect a higher proportion of meat. This might be my wrong assumption, though, as I imagine they have been developed in consultation with nutritionists.

I liked the fact that they were generally all the sort of meals that I would make but obviously much more convenient in that I didn't have to make them!

Which was your child’s favourite meal?

Spaghetti and meatballs (4) and Chicken Curry (3) and hard to tell with the baby!

Would you recommend Little Dish meals to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not?

I was surprised at how little meat they contained and this might put me off. We eat quite a lot of vegetarian food so I am often trying to make sure they have enough protein.

I would definitely recommend them for someone buying a ready meal for a toddler and will probably buy a few to keep in the freezer for days when I can't cook. I wouldn't buy them as an alternative to our usual family meals.

I think there would be a market at advertising to grandparents/ family members who look after the kids occasionally who want to buy easy food but where they have been specifically designed for toddlers (low salt, sugar etc).

Little Dish My First Pizzas

What was your overall impression of Little Dish My First Pizzas?

Interestingly, I didn't think they were as nice as other pizzas but the dc said they were much nicer. I think they really liked the doughy base and I liked the fact that the meatball pizza in particular was covered in vegetables.

Which was your child’s favourite pizza?

The older 2 both claimed that the cheese and tomato was their favourite but ate some of all of them. I think if only one was on offer, they would definitely eat them.

I would buy the meatball one due to all the vegetables on it.

Would you recommend Little Dish pizzas to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would because the kidlets love pizza and I feel happier serving these up due to the low salt content. The doughy base also means that they are easier to cook without ending up really tough and crispy.

The kids loved that they were clearly a 'kids' product.

Again, I think I would have them in the freezer for busy days rather than as an alternative to regular meals.

What other healthy, natural food would you like Little Dish to make?

I think there is a market for ready meals for under ones - there are a lot of jars etc available but not a lot of fresh food or 'proper meals' to put in the freezer.

What was your overall impression of Little Dish meals?
Really good. I like the packaging (and the finger puppets on the inside went down well with my DDs).
Very convenient for a quick meal when pushed for time, without having to feel guilty as they are healthy. I'm very likely to buy them in future, more likely for lunch than dinner, as in the evenings we all eat the same meal, but at lunchtimes I find it harder to motivate myself to make a nutritious lunch, and we get stuck in a bit of a repetitive sandwich/soup/pasta rut at lunchtimes. I also like that they are basically child versions of "adult" meals, ie lots of different ingredients and flavours.
They are the perfect portion size for lunch for my two (2 and 4), and for dinner if they need a bit more it's easy enough to chuck some veg on their plate too.
I was also surprised how well they were received as a first attempt. Although my DDs eat a varied diet, they are sometimes a bit suspicious of a new meal where everything is mixed together (so they can’t identify each separate ingredient) and it can take them two or three times before they fully accept a new dish I make, but that wasn't the case here.

Which was your child’s favourite meal?
They both tried and liked all five we had, but their favourites were the chicken and butternut squash pie and the chicken risotto.

Would you recommend Little Dish meals to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would. For the same reasons I am likely to buy them again. I wouldn't buy them to eat instead of our current usual meals, but will definitely have a few in the freezer as a standby, and get them for when we can't cook for whatever reason, and would recommend them on that basis.

What was your overall impression of Little Dish My First Pizzas?
Both DDs really liked them and ate all of them happily. One day they had one each, and to use up the third one on another day they had half each and some veg. They liked the flavours and the fact if you cut them into quarters they were easy to pick up. The crusts are nice, not too thin/hard but not too doughy and chewy. I liked that they weren't overloaded with cheese.

Which was your child’s favourite pizza?
DD2 liked the chicken and pesto one best, DD1 preferred the margherita.

Would you recommend Little Dish pizzas to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes I would, for the same reasons I'd recommend the Little Dish Meals.

What other healthy, natural food would you like Little Dish to make?
More of the same really. Not so much the pasta type ones, as they are easy enough to make from scratch. I'll be most likely to buy these meals when I don't have time to cook, so I'd rather pay for something that I can't make conveniently myself.

I'm not fussed about "healthy" versions of snacks, like crisps/biscuits etc. There are so many of these available, and I prefer to just let my DDs have the “unhealthy” versions every now and then, than spend a fortune regularly giving them "healthy" bland versions as a snack regularly.

TinyTear · 13/08/2015 20:25

Now all the meals have been eaten and I'm afraid the 3.5yo didn't like them...

I'll still get them once the 4 month old turn 1 and give them to her

Little Dish meals

- What was your overall impression of Little Dish meals?
Initial impression very positive. I thought the packaging was very nice and a good balance between appealing to the parents who are buying the product and the children who are eating it. My DD liked looking at the animals and discussing the food. We did the finger puppet on the inside of a few of the boxes.

I found it very convenient and remarkably stress free at dinner times as, we'd come in from work and it was very easy to get my DD's dinner on the table quickly for her, knowing it was well balanced. I always mean to batch cook but in three years I've yet to get round to it.

My impression did go downhill on tasting the food a bit though. It was very bland and did taste of "ready meals". For comparison we have brought some of the COOK children's range in the past and they have been so tasty I'd eat them. The actual cooked product on the plate didn't look great.

- Which was your child’s favourite meal?
Spaghetti with little meatballs got an "ooh yummy" comment and she polished it off so I think that was the winner. It was the only one she finished completely. She liked the chicken and butternut squash pie as well. She was indifferent or needed a lot of persuasion to eat the rest (and isn't especially fussy).

- Would you recommend Little Dish meals to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not?
I'm a bit on the fence. I think if somebody wanted something convenient then I would mention them however I think the taste and my daughters reaction didn't like up to our expectations. I do plan to buy a few others in the range for her to see what she thinks as we did like and appreciate the convenience.

Little Dish My First Pizzas
- What was your overall impression of Little Dish My First Pizzas?
A lot of dough with a little topping! It felt a bit like we were giving her a bread roll with some melted cheese on the top. She actually quite likes doughy pizza though so this wasn't necessarily a bad thing.

- Which was your child’s favourite pizza?
None of them. Despite being really excited by having pizza she wasn't very keen.

- Would you recommend Little Dish pizzas to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not?
Probably not. They felt like quite cheap pizzas and we normally buy at the higher end of the pizza market (if that makes sense). My DD normally only has pizza when we are having it and has a slice of ours. If she isn't having any, I'll often just freeze one slice uncooked for her for another time.

- What other healthy, natural food would you like Little Dish to make?
Maybe some desserts such as fruity sponge cake with custard or single size stir in pasta sauces as they can often be quite salty.

From a time poor parent point of view a complete packed lunch in a box would be amazing - something like frittata slices with a savoury muffin, portion of prepared fruit and vegetable sticks with a dip. I appreciate this is quite complex and not really in the same sort of range of stuff though.

THANK YOU very much for allowing us to be testers. We really enjoyed exploring the products and cottage pie will forever be known as crocodile pie in our house now.

Little Dish meals

  • What was your overall impression of Little Dish meals?

The packaging is appealing, colourful and my daughters liked the characters.
However when I noticed how long these keep in the fridge I was dubious about the quality of the food inside.

  • Which was your child’s favourite meal?

My 3 year old refused to try most meals and when she did have a mouthful she spat it out. My 1 year old did eat a few mouthfuls of the turkey meatballs and pasta but then also refused to try anything else.
My DDs are not normally fussy and eat home cooked food without fuss.

  • Would you recommend Little Dish meals to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not?

I wouldn't recommend them because they were bland and actually pretty disgusting. Young children can cope with food with flavour. Mature cheese, olives and garlic are all flavours my DDs enjoy.

Little Dish My First Pizzas

  • What was your overall impression of Little Dish My First Pizzas?

They seemed very doughy with sparse toppings.

  • Which was your child’s favourite pizza?

DD1 disliked them all and she normally loves pizza as it's a rare treat. DD2 ate half of the cheese and tomato one and refused the other two.

  • Would you recommend Little Dish pizzas to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not?

No I wouldn't. If pizza is an occasional treat then you might as well buy one that tastes nice.

  • What other healthy, natural food would you like Little Dish to make?

I can't answer this as I was disappointed with everything we tried and I wouldn't buy any of their products.

I feel a little bad that my review is so negative as I really wanted to like the meals. I cook a lot and I would welcome an alternative for those times when I need a shortcut.

RedRoseMummy · 14/08/2015 13:07

Little Dish meals

  • What was your overall impression of Little Dish meals?
We're familiar with the brand already and my children really enjoy the flavours and recipes available. I like that they are lower in salt and sugar and contain at least one of their five a day
  • Which was your child’s favourite meal? The Chicken and Veg Risotto. My DD loves this and would happily eat it every day. It's tasty! I've tried it myself!
  • Would you recommend Little Dish meals to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not? I absolutely would, in fact my DM buys Little Dish meals to have in her freezer for any famished GC at her house. She bought them on my recommendation having seen how much my children enjoy them.

Little Dish My First Pizzas

  • What was your overall impression of Little Dish My First Pizzas?
I was impressed. They were a good size for little ones and I liked that they were a nice way to have a 'treat' food with lower salt and the quality we have come to expect from Little Dish.
  • Which was your child’s favourite pizza? I was expecting it to be Cheese and Tomato which is usually her favourite but she loved the Chicken and Pest one too. She didn't quite understand that there wasn't anymore when she asked 'more please Mummy?'
  • Would you recommend Little Dish pizzas to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, definitely. My children aren't especially picky eaters but these would appeal to most children I think. They do provide a healthier alternative to supermarket pizza and are tasty.
  • What other healthy, natural food would you like Little Dish to make?
I'd love to see pasta sauce, and perhaps cooking sauces like curry or chili sauce. This would make catering for a few children in a hurry easier and I'd feel reassured by Little Dish's commitment to reducing salt and not adding sugar to their recipes.
MotherMarshall · 14/08/2015 14:40

As promised, I have attached some lovely pics. My son is tucking into the Alphabet Spaghetti (his favourite) but we are also excited to try the new turkey meatball pasta.

What was your overall impression of Little Dish meals?
I think they look child friendly, and it's great to have a range of ready meals suitable for children as sometimes you just need to feed them in a hurry. The packaging is attractive to children and adults buying for children.

Which was your child’s favourite meal?
Lasagne was the favourite here. I split all the meals between my 2 1/2 year twins and 8.5 month old. The lasagne was the last meal we used and as we only had one meal left I gave them it in a plate along with my home made lasagne and there was no preference, in fact I don't think they noticed the difference as they cleared their plates. The fish pie and butternut squash were the least favourite. They were a a bit sloppy and tasteless.

Would you recommend Little Dish meals to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would recommend as something quick and healthy to feed small people with. Sometimes you just need something quick to feed the them when they just can't wait.

Little Dish My First Pizzas
What was your overall impression of Little Dish My First Pizzas?
I thought the pizzas were a big small in diameter and a bit deeper than I would choose. I would have preferred a greater topping to dough ratio. Great to have a pizza specifically for kids as adult ones will contain a lot more salt and sugar.

Which was your child’s favourite pizza?
Margarita was the favourite. Chicken and pesto least favourite for all.

Would you recommend Little Dish pizzas to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, for a healthier alternative that would be either a quick meal to get ready for hungry children, or a healthier version for them to have when the rest of the family are having pizza.

What other healthy, natural food would you like Little Dish to make?
Puddings would be good.

We loved the pasta Bolognese, A little more pasta would have made it perfect
The chicken and butternut squash pie was a bit odd, not enough topping or taste and the chicken was a bit chewy so would probably not buy that one again (it could do with being thicker, more creamy with more mash)

Thank you for choosing my ds to participate in this product test. The meals arrived promptly and were well-packaged and chilled. My ds is 20 months and has a large appetite - we had five meals and three pizzas to try.

Little Dish meals

  • What was your overall impression of Little Dish meals?

The meals were well packaged and contained the nutritional information. The portion size seemed adequate for my ds; he managed to eat between three quarters to the entire portion of each meal and they smelled appetising.

  • Which was your child’s favourite meal?
My ds loved both the cottage pie and the chicken and butternut squash pie - they were eaten with gusto and finished quickly.
  • Would you recommend Little Dish meals to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would certainly recommend these meals as they are a healthy ready meal alternative which appealed to my toddler's tastes.

Little Dish My First Pizzas

  • What was your overall impression of Little Dish My First Pizzas?

The pizzas looked appetising and the packaging seemed attractive however there seemed to be a lack of toppings on the pizzas - there were also quite large vegetable pieces which may put off toddlers going through a 'no veg' phase.

  • Which was your child’s favourite pizza?
My ds seemed fairly indifferent to these pizzas and did not finish any of them. He ate most of the chicken and pesto pizza and would not touch the cheese and tomato pizza - my dh did try that one and described it as bland - perhaps some herbs would have improved it's flavour?
  • Would you recommend Little Dish pizzas to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would recommend the meat pizzas but with the caveat that my ds didn't seem to like them as much as the meals which he devoured!
  • What other healthy, natural food would you like Little Dish to make?
A more varied curry range and perhaps more international flavours. I also would suggest some hidden veg within the current range.

Thanks again for choosing us!

Little Dish meals

  • What was your overall impression of Little Dish meals? Good, more like a proper meal than other competitors, and handy to keep in the freezer or to send to grandparents when babysitting. My only negative comment is that some of the meals only contained one of the five a day, I feel more vegetables could be added as the shepherds pie and alphabet bolognaise for example were very meaty.
  • Which was your child’s favourite meal? He really liked the lasagne and cheese ravioli. Didn't like the fish pie.
  • Would you recommend Little Dish meals to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes, they are very handy for keeping in the freezer or for occasional carers.

Little Dish My First Pizzas

  • What was your overall impression of Little Dish My First Pizzas? I like the proposed packaging and the different flavours. I froze the meatball pizza and the carrots had a strange texture when cooked. Also on the meatball pizza although 3 meatballs is ok I would halve them to make them easir for toddlers to chew and so they are more evenly spread across the pizza.
  • Which was your child’s favourite pizza? The chicken and pesto pizza
  • Would you recommend Little Dish pizzas to friends or relatives? If so, why? If not, why not? I think they are great fun for nights when the family is having pizza and you want to include your toddler without as much salt and fat. Price would be a facfor on if they were to be bouht regularly.
  • What other healthy, natural food would you like Little Dish to make? Savoury snacks, there are a lot of sweet snacks on the market but not a lot of savoury. Perhaps a range of whole food or vegetable based dips with low salt bread sticks or crackers?

The healthy food I'd like little dish to make would be smoothie packs or meals with 'hidden' vegetables
