Miele are looking for 10 Mumsnetters to test out their WMH120WPS washing machine.

Here’s what Miele say, "With Miele’s exclusive Quick PowerWash, you benefit from a full A-rated wash in under an hour, getting the laundry done in record time. Better still, this large-capacity machine manages this whilst boasting an A+++ energy rating and being quieter than other models in this range.
The clever TwinDos system, automatically dispenses either Miele detergents or your preferred brand of liquid detergent and fabric conditioner for up to three months between refills. The WMH 120 WPS determines the best moment to release these during the cycle, meaning that each wash is tailored to that particular load, for the best results each time."

Those selected will be sent a Miele WMH120WPS washing machine (RRP £1,299).

If selected, you'll be sent the Miele WMH120WPS to try for a few weeks and so long as you add feedback as required you will be able to keep the product.

If selected, you will be sent the Miele WMH120WPS in December, and asked to try it for two weeks. You will then need to try it and add feedback to a thread on Mumsnet. At the end of the testing period, we'd also like you to post a review on the Mumsnet review pages. In order to keep the product, you would need to add your feedback by the 25th January, so please only apply if you are able to do this.

5 of the 10 participants may also need to film a few videos. Those MNers will receive an additional year's supply of detergent as a thank you for filming.

If you’re interested in taking part please sign up here.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

I would also need notice as my machine is undr a breakfast bar worktop behind 2 door and plinth etc has to be removed to take it out. Can't believe they rang to tell you they where outside your house. I also got that email. Maybe mnhq could look it to it properly for us and advise them that they need to contact people regarding suitable time for delivery

HaveTeaWillSurvive · 14/01/2015 20:40

Had a missed call from unknown number yesterday, they should be delivering next week - fingers crossed!

HaveTeaWillSurvive · 19/01/2015 11:59

Coming on Wednesday now - yeay!

have stopped washing clothes in anticipation of the greatness fancied a lazy weekend

Katz · 19/01/2015 13:40

not heard anything yet

Rikalaily · 19/01/2015 14:18

Yeay, just had a call, coming this week

soremummy · 19/01/2015 14:32

Getting mine Wednesday too !!

Katz · 19/01/2015 15:57

typed too soon, it's coming on Monday as I wasn't free on the day they're delivering near me this week. Said the guys would explain how to use it!

VeganCow · 19/01/2015 19:38

Mine is coming on Wednesday as well, cannot wait to get trying it!

HaveTeaWillSurvive · 19/01/2015 19:58

Are they going to fit it too or just drop to off?

soremummy · 19/01/2015 20:48

Ring them. As I asked that question about installing it (could have done it ourselves) but they then asked did we need old machine taking out etc and she amended instruction to say they would install it. Hth. Looking forward to it even though I emptied basket on Friday I've just put load number 3 on but I've got another to do so will hold on till Wednesday then I will have at least 2 /3 loads again to do sigh. Now what we need is a robotic ironing thing to try that would be ace lol wish someone would invent one it's ok doing 6 wash loads+ per week but it's the ironing that then kills you

Katz · 20/01/2015 08:01

The lady I spoke to said they'd remove the old one and put it wherever you'd like, install new one and then demonstrate how to use new one.

HaveTeaWillSurvive · 20/01/2015 09:42

Ooh exciting, will need to clear space in the garage! We can do it if they don't so I'll just hope and see.

soremummy · 21/01/2015 11:28

Received and waiting for it to finish its test cycle so I can try it out. Miele delivery men where really helpful too.

elvisola · 21/01/2015 11:37

I got mine this morning. The delivery guys instructions were to drop off only but I asked him to double check so he called his office and sure enough he was told to install, demonstrate and put on a test cycle. The delivery guys were excellent, really helpful and they even took my rubbish old washing machine away!!

First impressions are very good, I'm waiting for it to finish so I can get a load on.

soremummy · 21/01/2015 12:20

I've put on a quick wash to see I'm hoping that it has taken washingliquid into machine will see when it's finished.

HaveTeaWillSurvive · 21/01/2015 12:55

It's here! Looking especially space age Grin

They couldn't fully install as we need a bigger hole to get the valve through to sink and they're not allowed to cut or drill Sad

Delivery guys were really helpful though, did as much of the demo as they could.

soremummy · 21/01/2015 13:07

Have a play with it. I did a wash without it dispensing any liquid lol it wasn't selected in settings. I thought that the twin dos system would have been was hinging liquid and fabric conditioner but I'm not sure after reading about it I think it would need seperate fabric conditioner in the top or use one of the caps ? If anyone else finds this out give me a shout

soremummy · 21/01/2015 13:09

Silly ipad that should be cleaning/washing liquid in one of the containers and fabric softener in the other one

Rikalaily · 21/01/2015 15:03

Delivered but not fitted, issue with the size of the huge box on the water fill pipe. Not sure if it will fit to my pipe full stop as there's another pipe in the way, hoping they have some kind of extension which they can add so the box bit isn't near where it fits on to. Waiting for a call back. Atm can't even use my sink as waste water pipe connects under there and will flood with nothing attached. Might have to plumb my old machine back in for now, couldn't let them take it with not having the new one fitted yet Sad

soremummy · 21/01/2015 15:16

I know what you mean about the box. Mine is under a deep worktop with doors on well it used to have doors on it now can't get door back on because of the box and it means the gap for machine isn't really deep enough. However I will endeavour to get my dh to work some magic (butcher up the unit at the side so we can push it back properly) and all should be good. I do wish that Miele had put something on the specs sheet etc regarding the box I'm sure I just saw "normal" washing machine dimensions

VeganCow · 21/01/2015 17:35

Mines in, the box thing at the back meant it was going to be a tight squeeze actually connecting the pipe but the guys had a fiddle with the pipe and managed to get it plumbed in by levering the existing pipe slightly away from the wall so they had some room to twist the pipe on. They were very helpful I must say :)

It looks really good, and am going to read the booklet later and get to grips with it before putting on a test wash first.

VeganCow · 22/01/2015 10:24

soremummy I rang Miele and you're right, the prefilled cartridges have blue washing liquid in the one on the left and the one on the right has whitener for white wash (this is why you need to set if its a coloured or whites wash). The cartridges are single use only whereas the empty containers are to be kept for refilling.

The empty conainers are to be filled with your own washing liquid on left and fabric softener on right.

And the drawer is for washing powder and fabric softener, in which case you don't set the machine to use DOS. In the drawer, the big compartment on the left is for the main washing powder, the smaller one on the right is where a third of your total washing powder goes if the cycle includes a pre-wash.
Fabric softener goes where the flower symbol is, there's a triangle cut out to pour it into.

I set my DOS setting to use less detergent, as am in a soft water area, so reduced the ML per load.

I did an initial cycle last night as the booklet said, a full 3 hour wash without detergent.

I just did a power wash, and oh my god this machine is amazing, seriously.
I am using the pre filled cartridges and did the wash without softener to see how well the anti crease feature works, and it is really really good! There were hardly any creases, I won't even have to iron once they are dry.
Everything was super clean and smelled lovely even without softener. The detergents are obviously very good, and I know can be bought direct from Miele, I don't know how much they are to buy.

The clothes came out so much drier than my previous machine even though they are both 1600 spin. This is something I really need because in winter I dry clothes indoors on a rack which obviously causes some condensation, so the fact that they are much drier straight after washing means less condensation and faster drying times.

So, after one wash, I already love this washing machine.
Anyone else done a proper wash?
